Very strong ginger flavor. It is almost spicy but the citrus helps even it out.

Very strong ginger flavor. It is almost spicy but the citrus helps even it out.
It is in-your-face ginger. The peppercorns add some nice heat to the tea. I can smell the fruit, but fruit flavors are light and I don't really taste any rooibos. Best enjoyed hot, and possibly with honey if your trying to soothe a sore throat.
Whoa! GINGER overload. Too much for me in a tea but I definitely can see this being used in a recipe!
I found that I enjoyed this tea more than I thought I would. It was not too strong on the ginger
Definitely warm, but not uncomfortably so. A good way to clear the sinuses.
There are too many peppercorns for my tastes. 3 min @ 165. There's a light fruitiness behind the peppery bite.
April 7th ~ I love Double Ginger now! I definitely find it so beneficial in mamy aspects of health & wellness support... and the flavor to be so wonderful & warming!!
I initially didn't like this tea when I tried it through the CommuniTEA--1/23/23...But now, I realize my love for this tea & I need a whole bag of it in my stash!
I enjoyed this spicy blend. The peppercorns gave the tea a nice kick. A beautiful golden color. I added honey and it made it very enjoyable.
I really loved this tea. I added honey to it. It is very spicy but also fruity; the flavor is great!
I tasted citrus, ginger, and peppercorn in this delicious Double Ginger communitea today. Smells like spicy ginger, I would definitely drink this one again!
Overpoweringly ginger, and this is coming from a ginger fan.
Apr 24 yep not for the faint of heart but for those of us trying to kick a cold this is a godsend with a little honey
the more ginger the better usually as far as I'm concerned
Updated review: I used 2 CommuniTEA packets and let it steep for 10 minutes. Now, THAT is the ginger kick I was looking for!
Original review from Feb 13th '22:
This tea had a great ginger scent when I opened my CommuniTEA packet. Unfortunately, the taste didn't live up to the promise of the scent. This was considerably milder than I thought it would be.
I love ginger and ginger loves me. We get along splendidly. This ginger has the double wallop of peppercorns, which gives it just enough of a kick, but still manages to go down smoothly. Blended with green tea, it also makes an excellent iced tea.
Zing! Double ginger is awesome! But I love ginger candy and ginger beer - I frequently choose the extra ginger variety - and I’ve been known to add powdered ginger to foods that don’t necessarily need it… so adjust your expectations accordingly.
1 teaspoon. This is not subtle by any means!! I like ginger, but the other spicy notes (cayenne maybe?) really makes me give that cough when you surprisingly eat a spicy food. It's tasty, but it's about as subtle as a roundhouse kick to the face. I may blend it with a peach tea (a small fraction of a teaspoon to a full teaspoon of a peach tea) to see if I can replicate the Republic of Tea's Ginger Peach (and hopefully make it a more pleasant experience). At least I only have a sample of this and not a full pouch.
So spicy! Excellent. Ginger is strong, as is the pepper. Great when you have a cold or just want a puck me up
So good when I begin feeling sick. This is my favorite tea company
The best ginger tea blend I’ve ever had! Strong ginger notes with a bit of peppercorn and a touch of fruitiness from the dried fruit
Great tea! I love ginger tea. Double Ginger Tea has a wonderful flavor. I enjoy herbal teas. I would buy this again.
Mmmm, yes please. Extremely ginger-y, sweet, and just a little spicy. Exactly what I want for an upset stomach or oncoming cold, or just for a bit of evening zing. Perfect!
This tea has an in your face flavor bomb of flavor. If you love ginger as much as my husband this is the tea for you!!!
This tea works amazing for nausea! It's also surprisingly tasty. I was a little concerned that much ginger would be hard to choke down. But with the other ingredients it's actually a pretty balanced flavor!
This is a great tea if you LOVE strong ginger. I don't love strong ginger, and found this to be a little way too much.
amazing strong ginger taste. definitely a strong flavour and packs a punch. Really enjoyable at all times of the day.
I literally can't live without this tea. It is tasty but it also is very good at clearing up chest congestion and helps with asthma. I had lingering breathing problems for a few years from an illness and this was the only thing that helped me breathe. Also good for throat with some lemon and honey. Fantastic tea to keep arouns if you like ginger.
Update: I ended up buying it by the pound now. It's that much of a must have for me.
This smells good and tastes good. I tried a few cups of this yesterday and had hoped that the ginger would settle my stomach and it didn't. Could have been my stomach or could have been the tea, but I'll continue my eternal quest for the best-tasting herbal tea... :)
A lovely blend that starts with a comforting aroma. The taste of ginger is substantial but well balanced. I will not be without this blend. I like a robust flavor so I steep a little longer than usual.
I love the ginger and peppery spice of this tea. I take it one step further and add ground Cayenne Pepper. I steep for 6-7 minutes.
I love the tea! Ginger spice you can feel when sipping on the tea! I like mixing it with lavender lemon or chamomile. Super quality and packaging is superb!
When I want to enjoy a tea without the caffeine, Double Ginger's warm spice gives me that toasty feeling and pairs really well with lemon and honey.
Double ginger will wake up your senses and warm up your soul. This spicy blend has a zesty aroma of citrus and ginger, and a balanced taste of that is sweet, tangy, and fiery. The ginger and peppercorns add a kick of heat that lingers on the tongue, while the fruit flavors add a refreshing and juicy touch.
Update: I have decided that it is the whole peppers in the brew that I don't like. This is not the first tea with that in there that I haven't enjoyed. I know many do, but I just don't.
This tea was OK. I'm not sure if it was missing something or if there was something in it that didn't taste right to me. I'll probably end up mixing the rest of my sample with some Irish Breakfast for a hopefully nice ginger black tea.
Wow this is the best ginger tea I’ve ever had. I love how strong ginger is on its own, but sometimes it can be overwhelming to the tongue and this blend is super flavorful where I don’t feel like I just have a mouth full of ginger. I love this tea so much, if you like ginger at all I’m sure you will. Also, the peppercorn folks are mentioning could be spicy. I have a not so great tolerance to spice and this doesn’t feel spicy to me.
Double Ginger packs a powerful punch. It's sassy and spicy and yet ever so subtly sweet thanks to the green rooibos in the blend. With just the right amount of sweetener, the brew delivers a warm, flat version of ginger beer. Now, that probably sounds awful, but actually, it's quite nice. Interestingly, the ginger doesn't feel as heavy or overpowering on the green rooibos base as it does on other teas. That could also be the effect of the fruit flavorings, too. Regardless, this tisane makes a tasty and zesty way to nurse a mildly upset stomach or a cold, but unlike other 'medicinal' teas, enjoyable enough to sip on it's own just because.
this tea packs the perfect ginger punch. it's my go-to for when my stomach is a bit upset...or when i'm just walking around outside in the cold. very warm, very pleasant, and with no risk of keeping you up at night!
I love ginger and I loved this tea, great flavors!
My favorite!! If you love ginger this is perfect for you.
Ginger is always warm and soothing, and the double ginger adds an extra bit of depth to the flavour. I tend to oversteep ginger tea, but with this one, there isn't much consequence to oversteeping it, luckily.
So gingerry! I really like the heat from this ginger tea. Comes handy after an extra meal serving or sore throats!
I do quite enjoy ginger tea, ND the peppercorn was a nice addition to this. I'd still think I prefer a straight ginger but overall this is a nice alternative to keep it fresh.
Not as gingery as I normally like my ginger teas, but it is a good tea. I may try to use twice the recommended amount of tea next time to make it more gingery!
This tea was perfect for helping my husband with his digestion problems. The flavor is strong and I will be buying this again!
Double Ginger has no caffeine, and as such it blends well with plain caffeinated teas. Blended with green tea, it requires a lower temperature to avoid becoming bitter. Steep it first for 2 minutes at 190, then add the green (gunpowder! Dragonwell!) for 3 more minutes. Or brew it mixed with black tea for a nice root-y effect. A bit of extra will yield a second brew!
Pregnant and need great tea! Yay so glad I got This one. I feel So much better now that I have Ginger
A bright punchy chai layered over a peachy stone-fruit perfume. The latter is secondary but more prominent than my preference, though it does blend well. It appears to be largely red peppercorns by volume, but it remains balanced in the flavor profile. This busy blend is bright, punchy, and three-dimensional.
Pungent and complex, so good for an upset stomach! The peppercorns are a delightful addition too. The added fruit notes soften the bite a little bit too.
Double Ginger Tea packs a punch with its intense ginger flavor. A warming and invigorating brew that's perfect for ginger lovers. Bold and satisfying! 🍵🌿
I love ginger, and I love its spiciness, but beware - this tea has extra spiciness and you have to be in a certain kind of mood to drink this tea.
Wow! I love this tea. Ginger with subtle side notes and a BIG SPICY KICK. I rarely use sweeteners but a touch of honey helps here. If you're not into big flavors this probably is not for you. But for me it's perfect -either as a hot winter tea or in summer with lots of ice.
