CommuniTEA Sample: Outstanding blend of Citrus and Mate. The addition of the citrus plays very well with the herbal/earthy mate flavor and brings it to new heights. This is very smooth tasting and a great way to start the morning.
The herbal-grassy notes of Argentine Yerba Mate enhanced with the lively taste of ripe citrus fruits. Contains caffeine.

Light & citrusy. By the looks of the brew, It’s hard to imagine it has a lot of caffeine which makes it a nice change up for my morning cuppa.
A citrus flavor with a taste leaning towards a very strong green tea. Brewed at 180 for 3 minutes.
Very refreshing tea. The mate and citrus blend together beautifully for a bright flavor that dances across the tongue.
This tea is very nice. Light citrus, and a nice overall taste when cold-brewed.
Great tea!
Zesty citrus aromas emanated out of today's packet. A splash of 165°F water was added to the maté gourd to pre-soak the leaves until they stopped floating as much and the leaf edges began to absorb water. A long 'grandpa style' steep in the gourd until it cooled enough to sip was at least 6 minutes and then some! No bombilla tongue burns today... gotta taste the maté!
More citrus zest flavors were present throughout the sip. Plenty of maté leaves still kept floating on the top, and a piece of orange rind popped up to say hello. Nice fresh maté leaf flavors were present, giving it a dried leafy autumn vibe. Smooth yet zesty is how I'd describe this blend. Fresh dried maté leaf flavors of clean straw with a bit of earthiness. This is good for multiple steepings (3+).
A nice 'clean-burning' coffee alternative for that caffeine kick in the morning, or perhaps the mornight or mornafternoon (depending on your circadian rhythm).
Good! These lemony citrusy flavors Adagio is so good at.
I made this iced and didn’t taste ant citrus. Perhaps the citrus flavor would have come through more if I made it hot.
I first tried this tea in a portion sampler box with four different teas. This was one of the teas I didn’t enjoy. There’s a citrus scent with a mostly nutty flavor. It’s also one of those teas you have to use extreme caution unless you are use to high amounts of caffeine.
The citrius mate did wonders for my sore throat sounding self. So props and thanks for fixing that ish for me.
A surprising win for me. The citrus and the mate blend beautifully
It kind of tastes like fruit loop milk. If you like mate this is the tea for you.
First time trying a yerba mate tea, so I decided to cold brew this packet. The citrus flavor is prominent, which I really enjoyed. It's a great tea to help get you energized!
8 Oct 21 communiTEA steeping notes: I awakened my mate with two tablespoons of cool water in my ingenuiTEA steeper for a few minutes and then added 160ºF steep water on top to reach my 150ºF goal. I only do a mate flavor awakening for the first steep.
13 Jul 2020 communiTEA review: I love sipping mates! I acquire different flavors the longer I drink it. This Citrus blend was no different. I added no sugar so I wouldn’t mask the mate flavors. Smooth grass, and hay tastes from the mate were soothing and refreshing. Any bitterness dies down a bit with an overall gentle sweetness noted. The citrus flavors were a little tart at first, but as the mate kicked in, that was lowered significantly. I know this was the second time in a couple of days that there was a Yerba mate CommuniTEA, but I really appreciated having another chance to develop my mate palate. Thank you for the natural energy boost and zing! (5 mins @ 150F)
The name of this tea is spot-one as the citrus flavors are quite noticeable but not overbearing. The flavor profile is a bit more lemon than orange or grapefruit but not in a bad way.
Tried this to try something new. It was fantastic! Great citrus flavor!
Nice and bright, and energizing too. When iced, it's extra refreshing.
Ordered a sample to cold brew for summer and was pleased
It’s ok. I think I like mate more in winter time for some reason. In the summer I have no desire to drink it.
I have been making this as a cold brew iced 'tea' this summer and I love love LOVE it! It has quickly become my favorite hot weather drink and now I need to order more.
Never had mate by itself before, and was pleasantly surprised at how flavorful and complex it was while still managing to be light. Definitely a fan.
Excellent mate. Nice balance of mate and citruses.
I enjoyed this blend even more than the plain yerba mate. The brightness of the citrus enhanced the crispness of yerba mate for a wonderful cup both hot and cold. Adding honey made an amazing pick me up when I was under the weather but still needed to get things done.
This is probably one of my all time favorite teas. There is a good amount of citrus flavor and none of the astringency I am used to from lower quality teas.
Mate seems to give me more energy than other types of tea or coffee. This was very tasty too!
This is an interesting combination of yerba mate and citrus flavors. The balance was great, not too heavy on the orange and lemon, and but also strong enough that you can taste the flavors with mate. I used the 'awakening' method of adding cool water first to 'wake up' the mate, and add the hot water to the cup. The tea is on the mild side, so do not expect bold and brash flavors.
A true hit or miss. I'm not a fan or Yerba mate but this tea didn't have the smoky flavor I usually associate with it. It was a splash of citrus, and helped energize me throughout the day.
I don't get much citrus from this but it's a nice tea. Pleasant but not exciting.
I've really enjoyed several of the other mates, so I was excited to give this one a shot. The grassy, earthiness of the yerba mate does not go well with the citrus flavors. It's like drinking a citronella candle.
I brewed this tea hot and I noticed a slight smoky taste. Not a fan.
Pretty good wake up in the morning, and adding vanilla creamer made it more like a hyper creamsicle.
This is a wonderful tea, I love the flavors. Another great tea served hot of iced!
I got t his as a sample, as I've never had mate but have heard slot about it. I followed multiple people's suggestions via the comments, and stepped it first in cool water, drained then brewed. It really needed honey for me and I also added a tiny bit of Scottish blend to it. It was super great for my allergy ridden sore throat. Definitely will repurchase
Perfect for that morning pickup without the coffee. do pay attention to recommended temp/time
This is good, mild citrus with the mild mate. Can steep 4 times, each steep different.
Very good! Gives you just the right amount of energy without making you feel shaky like coffee does.
A really amazing tea that my boyfriend and I love!
My allergies are all over the place! It's helpful to have on me when I need a boost of vitamins for my tea, especially during the change of seasons!
Not very citrusy, this one is a good one to steep multiple times.
Another great blend good pickup in middle of the day
This is really a light and lovely tea. It reminds me of orange pekoe (Salada brand) and that’s not a bad thing 🙂
I decent tea, but all the flavors are muted. I added lemon to the tea and it ended up being pretty good!
This is my new favorite mate! The citrus is perfectly balanced for a very well rounder flavor
Referring to the previous reviews, it's cool how there are people out there who enjoy citrus mate. It wasn't for me, because due to a medical condition I prefer teas with really intense flavors, like pina colda from Adagio. I had to admit, citrus mate smells pleasant and calming for the weary soul. To me, I only tasted slightly flavored hot water even after using the specific water temperature recommendation and many extra teaspoons of tea.
Very light and refreshing. I like to mix it with other flavored white/green teas and it pairs wonderfully with them.
I really like this one, it's pretty strong so I actually tend to use less of the tea leaves.
So glad I got to try this as the featured communiTEA tea blend. Following a recommendation by a fellow tea drinker, I tried this one iced. So glad I did. It's a wonderfully refreshing citrus blend on ice!!! I brewed it 4 min with hot water, then chilled it in the fridge. I ordered a big bag & will enjoy this all summer :)
it was not as vibrant a taste as I was hoping for
This was pleasantly light in flavor - I liked it better than other mates I've had from Adagio.
