I have never had a tea like this before, and have always wanted to try it. I can definitively say it has an interesting flavour profile; when I tried it black I got slammed with bitter and cinnamon, but when I added a splash of milk the flavors smoothed out a bit and became a bit more complex. I get notes of a dark bitter chocolate, lots of cinnamon and a gorgeous nuttiness. I do have to say when I added a bit of maple syrup is when I truly began to enjoy this one; the sweetness helped to bring the flavor forward more and reduced the bitter bite on the hint.

The spicy, smokiness of this tea makes it hard to believe it isn't caffeinated. Perfect for evening drinking when you want the experience of coffee without the caffeine!

★★★★★

It doesn't quite taste like coffee... But it IS very good.

The closest I have gotten to getting a 'coffee' is steeping for about 7 minutes, and then sweetening lightly with maple syrup. Something about that mix of flavors brings it a step closer to tasting like actual coffee. Cream also helps.

I like it. Quite a bit in fact.

I am so glad I tried this tea. I had chicory in the past and did not care for it. This, however, is marvelous. I don't know if I should credit the addition of cinnamon, dandelion root and cocoa nibs or the way the chicory is processed...all I know is it is very good. It is very close to tasting like coffee without caffeine. Leave it to Adagio!

I love Chicory and this is great for after dinner when you want a 'coffee' but not the caffeine. I need to buy a much bigger bag because between my husband and I this is going to go fast. It smells beautifully of cinnamon both in the bag and in your cup and tastes decadent.

It starts off warm and sweet and finishes earthy and pungent but not unpleasant. It's like walking through the woods in October.

This is satisfying and comforting brew! Good to settle in with on a rainy afternoon or a cold night, and a great way to experience the treat of a cinnamon roll or cinnamon toast with the calories. The aroma from the cup is the best part!

★★★★★

This tea is really good, But I suggest you follow the instructions for infusion for 1 to 3 minutes anything over three minutes seems to get bitter. the three minute is perfect.

It really tastes like coffee! It smells like spiced hot chocolate, and has the bitterness of chicory

I'm glad I just got a small sampler on this one - it's not a keeper. Cinnamon stands out above anything else at first sniff, and a bit of sour note with chicory I think? It tries to keep the dark, mildly bitter taste with bits of chocolate, but nothing and nowhere near what a cup of coffee might taste like. Not my cup of tea to comfort the absence of coffee.

★★★★☆

I have never tried anything chicory before, so I had no idea what to expect from this, but I was excited to try it. The smell upon opening the packet reminded me a bit of heavily spiced apple cider -- there's a kind of sweet fruitiness in amongst all the spice. Brewed at 194 for about 2 minutes, it smelled glorious, very richly cinnamon. It has a fairly dry mouthfeel, and has a not-unpleasant bitterness, I think from the cocoa nibs. I can see why this is touted as a coffee alternative -- it has a lot of similarities that are kind of hard to pinpoint, yet at the same time it's definitely its own thing! I was worried that the cinnamon might be overpowering, but it's absolutely not. All of the flavors present blend very nicely.

In the end, I feel about this the exact same way I feel about coffee -- it's good, but I don't love it. I'd definitely recommend that coffee lovers give it a try, though, especially if they're looking for a low-caffeine alternative -- it's certainly more interesting than your typical decaf!

I like my coffee really strong, so I am always hesitant of teas that claim to satisfy coffee cravings. This was actually surprisingly good! I wasn't looking for a coffee replacement with this, so I can appreciate it as a nice strong tea, which I would compare to a light coffee roast. I also really like the chicory flavor; it is not something I've encountered before so I wasn't sure what to expect.

Love the flavor. I like the combination of flavors of cinnamon and chocolate. I added just a bit of French Vanilla creamer and it is so good.

I was looking for a coffee substitute as coffee does not due well with my past colon cancer issues. Love this flavor. Probably feels like a chai once I add sugar and creamer but I have found my new morning cup!

I absolutely love Chicoriccino! The chicory base with cocoa nibs and cinnamon is rich, delicious, and warming. I’ve replaced my morning coffee with this as a low caffeine alternative. It also meets the need of my sweet tooth as an afternoon treat or after dinner dessert. This is one of my favorites!

I did not like this at all. I think it's the dandelion root? The aftertaste is bitter. It doesn't taste like coffee at all. I added both milk and sugar and it was not any better.

Very coffee-like. I used a teaspoon ad it came out very strong. All on all a good alternative to coffee

Chicoriccino is a great tea. It doesn’t taste like coffee, so this tea is good for anyone who doesn’t like coffee or is cutting back.

★★★☆☆

I really wanted to like this one. I have been looking for a chicory based tea as a caffeine free morning beverage for a while now.
This was close I suppose... But I didn't love the overpowering cinnamon.
It ended up just being a bitter cinnamon tea, improved by honey and half and half but still just very cinnamon-y.
Fine if that's what you are into, but not really my jam.

This is a delight. Using it with some vanilla oat milk and the adagio cinnamon honey. It's a complex flavor with heavy cinnamon and warmth.

★★★★☆

This was surprisingly good on its own, but I could definitely see blending it with teas for a warming, winter blend. Don't let it oversteep, though - it can get bitter fast!

★★★☆☆

Brewed as directed, this tea was very strong & somewhat bitter. The chicory flavor overwhelmed the other flavor notes which were unnoticeable.i suggest adding cream & sugar. Ok for an occasional beverage but would not repurchase.

It's got a moderate cinnamon flavor- not overpowering, just right. It's got some other characteristics that I can't quite put a name to, but it's AWESOME. Also holds up to multiple brews.

Complex..many flavors and key notes. Smell is wonderful, looks like coffee! It’s 9pm and I’ve had enough coffee for today (from LARDERA!) so I appreciate having this available.

★★★★★

A surprisingly good tasting chicory blend. Chicory and dandelion root offer some earthy notes to the main flavor of cinnamon which is nicely accented by a wonderful chocolate taste from the cocoa nibs. I enjoyed this tea sweetened more. It became delicious and almost dessert-like with an add of agave. The cinnamon spice and earthy tang of the chicory and dandelion kept the overall flavor from being too cloyingly sweet. This was an easy sipping tea for me

My Ct packet had 4 g/ 1 rounded tsp of a very weighty tea that had lots of dark chicory, cocoa nibs and brown cinnamon chips and some dandelion root. Brewed 12 oz. at 212*F for 1:30 min. The cinnamon scented liquor became a very dark brown. I chilled a mini cup and the taste of the cold tea had the flavor of cinnamon with a gentle chocolate accent. The earthy tones seemed to have disappeared and the aftertaste reminded me a little of coffee. This was a fun novelTEA and not being too familiar with chicory I enjoyed it in this blend.

Generally, I enjoy the flavor of chicory. For some reason though it just seemed to Cinnamon forward this time. I think the flavors were competing.

This packet smells like a cinnamon bun - nice and warm. The taste when hot is wonderful - not what I was expecting (which was coffee flavor which I do not like). I would consider this again.

Not a coffee drinker, so can't make a comparison. But a delicious cup on its own--cinnamony and chocolatey, toasty and comforting. I didn't experience any bitterness. Steeped for 3 min @212F. Delicious unsweetened and with a little sweetener added. Nice cafffeine-free warm drink for evenings.

This is an awesome product to know about for when I feel like having some beignets and chicory coffee without the caffeine crash!! It's not identical to a chicory coffee, but if you're too sensitive to caffeine it's definitely close enough if you're looking for that flavor.

This was really tasty and I think I will add it to my collection real soon. It reminded me a little bit of drinking Mexican Hot Chocolate.. LOVE the hint of Cinnamon! I think that the next time I brew I will shorten the brew time, 3 minutes made it a little bitter on some sips.

★★★★★

Lovely cup, the taste reminded me of a cinnamon baked good. Think cinnamon toast or a good coffee cake. Definitely needed cream added and was devilishly good when I added pumpkin spice almond creamer to it.

Wow! This chicory offering is comfort in a cup for me. Dry, the blend smells like a cinnamon roll and the resulting brew tastes like cinnamon toast. It's a little nutty, cinnamon-kissed, and definitely toasty. Though I can identify the bitterness that others have mentioned, it's reminiscent of the bitterness of burnt sugar - like the crusty, over-caramelized bits one might pick off a pan after baking some cinnamon-packed treat. If the flavor weren’t enough, there are the brewing perks. I love that this is an herbal blend with such a short brew time. So, not just comfort in a cup, but instant comfort, too! Plus, the blend stands up to at least one additional steep.

As a substitute for coffee, this would pass, but it feels thin in comparison. That said, I love that this chicory blend doesn’t leave me with the same dirty-mouth feeling that coffee does. Though I like coffee, I prefer tea, and Chicorccino offers me the perfect compromise between the two - great for an evening sip when I want something with minimal caffeine, richer than tea, but not as heavy as coffee. All that said, I understand now why Civil War soldiers would have missed real coffee. (1st steep - 1.5 minutes, 2nd steep - 3 minutes @ 212F)

I love chicory coffee and was excited to try this tea. Hot, I mainly tasted cinnamon, fresh baked goodness. Warm, some nutty flavors came through. When it hit room temp, the tea became quite bitter. Overall a tasty tea that would probably be amazing as a latte.

Loved todays tea so much. It’s a perfect fall drink, or pretty much any other time too. The delicious aroma of cinnamon and chocolate hit me as soon as I opened the packet. I love chocolate and cinnamon, so I added even more. I brewed it at 190° and ended up steeping it for almost 5 minutes by accident. It steeped to a beautiful very dark amber color. It was so much better than I expected it to be. It was not bitter, it’s flavor was reminiscent of toasty cinnamon strudel. I haven’t had coffee in years, the caffeine and acidity bother me. This was better than I remember coffee tasting, especially since I didn’t need creamer or sweetener. I’m so glad Adagio has this now. A larger bag is going in my cart. Great blend.

Chicory and cinnamon combine for a rich, smooth dessert blend. Tastes like a cup of cinnamon toast crunch! I wouldn't drink when I'm craving coffee, but this will be on my next order as a dessert staple!

I love it!! A deep, dark, robust cup of heaven. Chicory is new to me, and I 'll admit, I was skeptical, but this... a little nutty, a little chocolatey, and a little cinnamon(y), what's not to love?

★★★☆☆

WarmToasty cinnamon and chicory; I didn't get much chocolate. I would never confuse this for coffee. I'd be curious to try this with more chocolate notes and no cinnamon. Like a Chicory Mocha maybe? I sampled this tea as part of the CommuniTea September 2022 box.🇺🇸

Let it steep for a robust cup with layers of flavor. I posted my picture before I thought to add dollops of frothed milk on top. Sipping through slightly sweetened (soy) milk made this cup a dessert. Chicoriccino is terrific chicory beverage.

This is exceptionally delicious. I enjoyed it black, but I'm sure it would be even nicer with creamer and sweetener. I'm also a coffee drinker, and this does not hit those notes for me, so for someone looking for a flavor twin, this is not it. However, the chocolate and cinnamon are balanced nicely. They stay in the back and bring a richness to the chicory without dominating.

This tea has a really lovely cinnamon taste with mild, almost nutty tones. It’s vaguely reminiscent of coffee, which comes out even more when I added a bit of chocolate honey to it. Overall, very enjoyable!

A cinnamon aroma wafted out of today's CommuniTEA packet. A quick 3 minute dunk in 212°F water produced a dark brown tisane.

The flavor was like a cinnamon bun, with toasty baked notes. The chicory provided plenty of bold roasted cocoa-like flavors. There was also a slight bitterness, which increased as it cooled. It wasn't too much for my taste, but it was noticeable amidst the toasted and cinnamon flavors. It wasn't clear whether this was due to the dandelion root or the chicory. Either way, it was a nice alternative to coffee but probably wouldn't fool the coffee addicts among us.
