I used an Ice Tea Brewer machine and put the loose tea in a coffee filter. I then poured it over ice and shared it with my co-workers and they came back for seconds. It smelled wonderful while brewing.
Honeybush hazelnut and cocoa nibs relax and ground you, while a spice blend of aniseed, cinnamon, clove, and orange peel offer cozy comfort.

The flavor is alright, a bit different for sure. I'm a little off-put by the smell of it from the bag as it's an odd mix of sweet and smokey. Honey helps balance the bite of the peppercorns.
UPDATE: Also adding half-n-half or whole milk helps balance the spice even more.
This is warm, inviting and comforting. I don't really detect any notable spices in it. no one flavor stands out more than the other. This is definitely good for a cool fall day.
Tea smelled amazing, but I may have steeped it at too low of a temperature for everything to come through. I'll definitely be re-trying it soon, and I look forward to doing so.
This blend has a lot going on in it. I'm not really sure how to rate it, somewhere between a good and ok? It's not bad, it's just complex and kind of interesting. I feel like for everyone the flavors come through differently, the smokiness is strong when I drink it, followed by the orange and I guess the aniseed. I really like tea with peppercorns in it, so I was hoping for something kind of peppery, but there's nothing too peppery about this!
I just can't get enough of this stuff. Glad I ordered a big batch. Such a great tea!
True to the description, it has a distinct smokey after taste. While not unpleasant, I did not find this to my taste.
I prefer black tea, but was intrigued by the description of this tea. It was okay, but the mix of flavor so was a bit odd to me. Would not buy again.
I was given this as a sample by a friend who found it not to her taste. Upon trying it, I immediately ordered more, and I will cry when I run out. It tastes exactly like autumn to me, warm and cozy, with the flavors blending together to form a hug in a cup. I did not find anything overpowering or clashing.
I was extremely excited to try this tea, as I thought it sounded wonderful. Upon receiving it and opening the bag, my first reaction was 'wow'. I've enjoyed several teas over the years, but I think this was the first time I ever felt, I don't know, intimidated by a tea? It has a very strong aroma and flavor, like the epitome of a bonfire in a orange orchard on the perfect autumn day - very complex. I'll probably continue to make some up every once in a while. however, the strong smoky orange flavor puts me off from what I hoped would be a calm and relaxing brew. Maybe that's just not my cup of tea. *groans*
I'd never had honeybush tea before, so the initial aroma of this tea was very unique and made me wonder about the taste after brewing. Turns out, it was excellent, much like red tea, which I love.
This is a good tea when you are in the mood for a smoky spicy tea. I am not a fan of Lapsang Souchong, but there is a good balance of it in this tea.
Hello, I wanted to pass along, this is the best tea I have ever tasted!! Enjoying a cup every evening. Shared some with a friend and she just loved it. Everyone should give it a try!!
Thank again adagio teas!!
Just enough zing to enjoy. I like to sip it. I will be ordering it again.
This tea just wasn't for me. It has a nice smoky flavor to it and the peppercorns add a nice zing but the aniseed just overwhelmed it for me. The smell of this tea actually triggered a migraine for me. This is not a tea I will be drinking again. If you don't like licorice I would avoid this one.
Great herbal for fall. Seems to embody the season quite well
Folksy and rich. Tastes a lot like a tea my mom makes when I'm sick, so I might be biased.
A sweet and smokey tea that's great for fall. Good hot or iced.
Really nice! It's got this interesting flavour of smoky citrus. I love drinking this blend before bed. I get the full-bodied tea taste, but without all the caffeine that usually goes along with it.
Great hot or cold. Love this new, to me, flavor - wow
Just ok. I was not prepared for this strong flavor of 'something'. I still cannot recognize the taste, but I drink sometimes a cup of this tea at night - very warm tea.
I love this tea with a little honey, perfect for curling up with a book
This literally tastes like fall. I'm not sure how else to describe it, but it is the perfect fall tea!
Very interesting texture and has become one of my go-to's when doing some reading...
One of the most unique flavors that I have tried.
Nice change from black tea. Fairly earthy, very strong reminder of autumn.
dynamically flavored tea that captures all the good parts of fall and gears me up for crisp air and colorful leaves
I really enjoy this tea. Nothing is better than sitting around a fire as the Fall cools the air. This tea reminds me of that. The smoky taste is just right and the spices make this a delicious tea.
I wasn't sure I would like this since I haven't liked all of Adagio's herbal teas I've tried, but this once had a nice taste without being overpowering.
I really love this tea! It has a fantastic flavor: just enough lapsang souchong to get a hint of smoke, while the honeybush, spices, and orange peel lend sweetness and complexity. It truly does smell like fall to me, and fits the start of the chill weather perfectly. This has quickly become one of my all-time favorites. The only downside is that unlike a number of other teas I own, you can only get one brew per bag.
Enjoyed it, but will take some tweaking to get the strength right. You can taste each element individually, but it doesn't quite meld together into one distinct flavor for me.
This tea tastes like road construction. Sounds great but tastes like burnt rubber and tar. I had 3 other people try this tea and they all said about the same thing. We tried different steeping times and temps but nothing worked. This was the worst tea I have ever purchased from Adagio
This is a great blend for Fall and Winter. It's very interesting in that it has an inviting aroma before brewing, then during brewing, it smells kind of like a fire, and finally the taste is mildly sweet and smokey. Very nice.
I did not like this tea very much at all. I bought it for my girlfriend because she usually likes that type of thing and even she couldn't handle it. The tea is completely over-flavored and artificial tasting.
This is my new favorite tea. It tastes exactly like something you'd want to sip while sitting by the bonfire. It's so aromatic, just opening the bag is wonderful. Smokey and spicy and sweet and a little appley. I'm buying this stuff in bulk, because I'm gonna be heartbroken when it's gone!
Me and my mom love this! It smells great once you open the pouch. It really has that aroma and color of fall! Great taste too!
Autumn is my favorite season and I had to try this tea! I was not disappointing! I am usually not a fan of lapsang tea but this was definitely an exception. When you open the bag, you can smell the smokey lapsang. When I drank it, it brought me to those brisk autumn nights around a bonfire with close family and friends. The smokey lapsang surely dominates this tea and cocoa is subtle. But it is a very comforting autumn tea.
The orange almost overwhelmed the other flavors when I first opened the package, but once brewed, the orange backs up a bit and the other flavors come out. The tea is slightly fruity but also spicy and smokey -- those that are very sensitive to pepper might want to avoid this. Overall, I am very impressed by how evocative of a bonfire this tea is, which is exactly what I was hoping for.
I didn't enjoy this one at all, unfortunately. It just tasted wrong to me, I can't really define it more than that... :-/
Autumn in a cup! Delightfully balanced Autumn tea. No weird twang from the cinnamon like some other Autumn inspired teas. I plan to sip on some this evening outside, under the full moon, in front of a fire pit.
Spicy and sweet, it tastes like a combination of a crisp fall
Morning and Christmas breakfast. Just be careful not to oversteep as it can become a little bitter in its aftertaste if brewed too hot or too long. It's become a household favorite.
I recently tried my first blend containing lapsang souchong, and since I liked it, I got pretty enthusiastic and ordered a bunch of other blends that feature it. This one is delicious! I love the combination of orange and hazelnut with the smokiness. I was worried that I wouldn't like it because of the aniseed, but it's subtle.
Very well balance tea with lots of character and nuance. One of the best spiced teas I've have from Adagio to date, and one I will certainly order again.
Warm and earthy and perfect for fall! It gives warmth to your being and brings out fall favourites on the tongue!
This tea tastes like autumn in a mug! The apple/clove/orange combo is what stuck out to me much more than the aniseed as others have commented. It's very hearty, has just the right amount of spice and is my new go-to for drinking at work. It's good with a pinch of sugar or on its own.
This is definitely reminiscent of a bonfire. The red peppercorns take a frontseat on this tea's flavor profile, I think. Not my favorite, but it didn't disappoint on what it said it would deliver.
I love this! Its an amazing fall blend. The smoke is just a light hint that ties everything together while the sweetness is very light and smooth
What a delicious cup of autumn. Makes bidding goodbye to summer a bit easier...
A super cozy cup of tea. Nice amount of spice is balanced by a creaminess from the honeybush hazelnut with some smoky heat on the finish. Great for curling up with a book while it rains outside. I add milk and honey to up the cozy factor.
This is not my cup of tea. It tastes horrid. This is total opposite of what I taste with Autumn Mist Green tea. I expected it to have a smoked herbal taste as the name suggests but it's not. It just feels like someone put together worst ingredients into a bag and started selling it. I do NOT recommend it to anyone.
