White Monkey Customer Reviews

Green tea from the slopes of the Taimu Mountains in Fujian, China. The delicate, unopened buds appear perfectly white against the young, opened green leaves. Warm colored liquor with a fresh, almost wildflower sweet scent and slightly dry finish.

This is my first green tea that is loose leaf. I am sold on this kind and will definitely buy this green tea again. It was very pleasant tasting. Not too strong or too weak. I like to mix it with fruity herbal teas, or drink it by itself.

I tried this tea in a sampler and couldn't wait to order it. It has a great flavor and fragrance.

★★★☆☆

Not one of my favorites, but will drink it anyway if I want a boost to help get through the day.

White monkey is light and easy to drink. A small piece of citrus fruit or honey go well with this green tea.

★★☆☆☆

I thought the vegetal flavoring was SO overpowering for this tea. I just feel like I'm drinking grass. Can't recommend this one. :(

★★★★★

Very subtle and soft flavor. Great aroma and thin body. Perfect for anytime of the day

A great green tea. Has good flavour. Definitely one of my favourites.

★★★★★

Very versatile tea. It's like yet flavorful, I will be purchasing this again in a larger size.

★★★★★

I always find myself buying more of the white monkey. It's just too good not to keep on hand!

★★★☆☆

I agree with the users who compare this to silver needle. It has a very similar taste, mixed with the vegetal flavor of a green tea. I like silver needle and I like most green teas, but together I wasn't blown away.

Delicious, smooth, and flavorful. I like to use more than is recommended per cup.

This was just not something I gravited towards. I could only make myself drink it. Gave most of it away.

★★★☆☆

It is a decent tea. Nothing really to write home about. The leaves look great, but the taste doesn't really stand out to me

★★★★★

This is a really tasty green tea. Nice and light, refreshing. I'd buy it again.

It's very smooth and pleasant. Not strong at all, you can't really feel the blend thats why i like it, sometimes you just don't want to drink something too strong

wonderful taste. good night time tea to calm down with and relax

★★★★★

I love this. I thought by its color that it was going to taste more like a white tea, but it had a light green flavor. Perfect because I'm new to green teas and don't want anything too grassy.

Very, very light green tea. It has a mild grassy aftertaste. I do prefer the more robust, vegetal Japanese greens or the more subtle, nutty Chinese teas like Dragonwell and Green Anji. White Monkey might be a good introduction to green tea newbies. It is also very forgiving, and I recommend steeping it for at least 3.5 minutes.

White Monkey has the best aroma of any tea I've ever had. Tastes great too!

White monkey is my favorite green tea, perfect for after dinner. Other green teas often taste bitter compared to this smooth tea. I definitely miss it when I run out.

I love my white teas (more than green teas these days). This is definitely one I frequent.

★★★★☆

A mild, pleasant green. It seems exceptionally high in caffeine, however; drinking it after mid-afternoon always causes me trouble at bedtime.

very good green tea, delicate flavor, aroma and color, good for multiple infusions.

Despite how odd this tea looks, it is really good.It has a very bizarre look. I find i steep this one longer b/c it is not really strong. It is on the weaker side for sure.It never seems to over steap but the taste is fuller to steap for a couple more minutes. If you like strong teas-this is not for you.

This is my go to green tea. I enjoy the flavor and it isn't over powering. When I get home from work its great to sit down with a cup before I go cook dinner and start the evening.

a good smooth, light, cup of green tea at a great price

★★★★☆

This was a good tea. It's very light, and definately worthy of trying if you like green teas.

★★★★★

My current standard. Light on the palate, excellent with honey. The first thing I tried and the first thing I re-ordered. This one will be on my shelf for a while to come.

Very mild and nice. I'm not usually a big fan of green tea, but this tea is good.

★★★★★

This is a very lite crisp and semi sweet delicate tea and it is a must try. Perfect for the afternoon, hot or iced.

I'm not generally a big fan of green teas, but I thoroughly enjoyed this one.

★★★★☆

A nice green tea. Not overly strong, but not weak either.

★★★★★

For green tea, this choice has just the right amount of flavor to keep you drinking more and more. After a few cups of this tea I can feel the calmness throughout my whole body.

One of my very favorites. Reminds me a bit of Silver Needles, but with a slightly stronger flavor. I absolutely love this one.

this tea is very light but also has quite a distinct, sweet taste. it almost reminds me of fruit in a way - perhaps oranges. the brewed tea smells wonderful.

★★★☆☆

It's nice if I steep it for about 5-6 minutes. But in general too light for my taste.

★★★★★

A very good light tasting green tea. Don't pass it up.

★★★☆☆

The flavor is very light, more like a white tea (how appropriate with a name like White Monkey,) and not especially "grassy"/vegetal. If you like strong tea, you might want to use a lot of leaves, or try a different tea.
I didn't attempt multiple infusions (total tea newbie here), if that makes a difference.

Love the very subtle flavor and cool quality of the leaves. Beautiful product.

This is a very mild grassy green tea. It might be a good entry point for someone who isn't sure about trying the stronger grassy green teas, especially considering the low cost. But honestly, it's too delicate for my taste. A longer brew time doesn't help much either. If you bought a stronger grassy green tea and found it was not to your liking, you could mix in some of this White Monkey to tone it down.

Not bad for a green tea, but not to my taste. I might just not care for green teas, so take this with a grain of salt. :)

Bought this again after having tried it in the sampler and I still love it. Has an aftertaste that reminds me of Shitake mushrooms.

Personally I like teas with a bit more "kick"..but...for a light tea - this was great.

Good all around green tea. Not too smokey, not too lawn-clipping-ey, just right.

★★★★☆

I liked this tea a lot. It has a nice aroma and a calming flavor. It makes a great tea in the afternoon, right as I'm beginning to flag at work.

★★★★★

My favorite green tea. Similar to a white, but more of the earthy flavor of green. Maintains consistent flavor through multiple infusions. Since I don't preheat my pot or ingenuiTEA first, I use 185 or 190 degree water. After pouring water in pot, temp is between 175 and 180. This brings out the flavor better than starting with 180 degree water.

★★★★☆

This tea does not taste like monkeys. Or maybe it does, I can't say for sure, never having tasted a monkey. It's tasty, though. The tea, I mean -- not monkeys.

It was pretty good, not my favorite green tea, a bit grassy, i had to sweeten it a bit.

★★★☆☆

A more delicate tea with subtle flavors. I prefer more robust teas but I appreciate the delicacy. Maybe next time I'll seep it longer to deepen the taste.
