Whoever decided to name this 'sleeping dragon' needs to be thwacked upside the head. There is nothing 'sleepy' about this tea and I'm getting the impression that it is a wonderful caffeine bomb. The flavor is light and smokey and it packs the required punch to knock me out of my zombielike state in the morning.

A very yummy tea that I received as a gift from a generous stranger. It has to be the greenest green tea I've tasted thus far...almost grassy. I like it!
★★★★☆
It's a good green tea nothing to really wow you. Then that's what most light teas do. Not a big green tea fan but like this one.

Oooh this is really great. It's smooth and a bit fruity. It's full flavored as well. I like it better than green Dragon pearls. I almost didn't get this one because the description said it was similar to a gun powder, but I didn't taste much of the smokiness that I don't like. I brewed it for only 2 minutes so maybe THat was the difference.

I ultimately prefer its smokier cousin, gunpowder. In comparison, this tea is distinctly more complex, with a smoky overtone, nutty undertone, and a slightly grassy aftertaste. (despite its description)

A grassy, almost...seaweedy tea. But it's really good in an extremely odd kind of way. It grows on you by the sip.

As has been noted, this tea is not the most exciting thing in the world. The dragon is asleep and not rampaging through your tea time. It's GOOD, though. Slightly vegetal, a tiny bit floral. light and refreshing without being too shy. I find it makes a great accompaniment to a meal with a lot of heavy flavors. If you've never had a green tea somehow, this would be a good starting point to see if you like them. Careful, though, the dragon wakes up angry if you burn it.

I personally did not like it but my husband loved it. He said that it tasted like gunsmoke. It is a pretty strong masculine taste.

I love the dragon teas. Full bodied, with a tasty dark flavor. Perfect to cuddle up with on a cold night.

this one is very grassy. not really a fan of this one.

I love lapsang souchong, and I love green teas, so therefore this is a big YES! The tea is the perfect combination of smoky and earthy.

Some have compared this one to gunpowder but I would disagree. I detected no smokiness at all. To me, this is a very smooth and balanced cup with a hint of sweetness and without any sharp green flavors whatsoever. A great introduction to green teas for anyone looking to try one.

A nice, simple green tea with a lightly toasty taste. It definitely doesn't have much of the grassy taste (which I don't really like) that I associate with sencha, so I think it's pretty good!

Up there with gunpowder as one of my go-to green teas. There's a lot more to the flavor than the simple 'green tea' sort of taste, though I find it hard to describe.
★★★★☆
This is a good first tea for people who want to try a 'real' green tea, but are afraid of overly vegetal taste or delicate brew. This tea was slightly smoky, vegetal, but not overly so, and slightly sweet. I agree that it did remind me of gunpowder.

Another one of my favorite green's from Adagio. I like it just a little more than gunpowder. It's not as smokey and has more of a nutty than green taste.

It has a nice armor that isn't to grassy or overpowering. The flavor is slightly smokey and earthy. It has a bit of grass or alfalfa to it. It's not too bitter and a bit of sugar brings out the flavor a bit. Overall I feel this is a very nice and refreshing tea.

Very good tea coming from someone who is not a big green tea drinker

I like gunpowder more. It has a stronger taste to it.

I got this tea as a free sample and now I can't get enough! There is just enough smokiness to keep this calming tea interesting and it is full of well rounded flavor. This tea went above and beyond my expectations.
★★☆☆☆
I had a really awful experience with this tea. It brewed to a beautiful golden color. It looked exquisite. Then I tested the aroma. It was grassy and sharp. Not being a green tea drinker, I took it in stride and tasted. The grassy aroma followed through in taste. It was all grass. I finished the cup and my stomach felt like it would explode. I sucked on peppermint for a half hour to calm it. I'm afraid to try this tea again although looking at the other reviews, I probably didn't brew mine to do the leaf justice. I really wanted to like this tea because watching the little leaves unfurl was a nice side benefit.

Green tea isn't actually my favorite thing, but I bought this to go with some old fruity bits I had. It was good! Yum.
★★★★☆
A good all-around green tea with a smokey character. Not as smokey as gunpowder which I like. Smooth mouthfeel with a slightly sweet, smokey finish.

I'm not normally a green tea person, but this is smooth and not to 'grassy.'

Excellent green tea experience. The smokiness enables it to have a thicker flavor, making it a hearty green, but keeping it from being gimmicky in any capacity. As absurd as it sounds, the name sums the tea up quite well.

very nice and relaxing. it had a very calming effect
★★★★★
Sort of a quintessential green tea--not too strong, doesn't easily overbrew into bitterness, cleansing and earthy.
★★★★★
This is an all-around every day green tea. Pretty much what you'd expect. It isn't particularly grassy or astringent, and brews up to a beautiful golden yellow. Slightly smokey and earthy. Very refreshing chilled, and I prefer mine with no sweetener. It expands a LOT while brewing, so a large diffuser is a must.

This tea is very smooth and it has a delicate, complex flavor.

Moderate intensity, it could use some more flavor!

My son is all about green tea. This is a favorite.

I've never been a big straight-up green tea fan. I like it with fruit and with spice, but plain? Now, it seems I was mislead by poor quality bagged tea once again. This one proves that all green teas are not created equal. It is light and bright, wonderful with a little honey. 'Satiny' is the best way I can think to describe it. One of my new favorite teas.
★★★★★
Great taste. This seemed to be more of a calming tea.
★★★★★
I love this tea, it's soothing, and it's not too strong, though not to subtle either. I think it's best with a little honeybush vanilla and a good book on a rainy afternoon.
★★★★☆
This tea is pretty good. It's got a kinda smokey taste to it. It does taste like it smells and I was pleasantly surprised by the taste of it. As a non-green tea drinker, I would recommend this tea to other non-green tea drinkers who want to try green tea.
★★★★★
This is a wonderful 'light' dinner tea. Like some green tea's this one should be steeped at a starting rate of 1/2tsp for approx. two minutes per cup, or until you have learned it's steeping requirements. This tea is rolled into tiny balls and will require a second steeping before the full beauty of the leaf is unfurled. Astringency will come on rather quickly if you don't keep an eye on things. The good news is of course it's flavor profile. There are no grassy overtones and no oceanic taste as with some Japanese tea's. I recommend this as a dinner tea as it's lightness complements any meal. This is also a very refreshing tea. Good hot or cold. I have steeped these leaves two or three times and they just seem to keep putting out great flavor. Over all I would highly recommend this tea to anyone that enjoys a nice light cup. Well worth the price of a sample pack...Steve.

This tea was pretty good and the friends who I shared it with were of the same opinion. Definitely still maintains a bit of a grassy character but is smooth and a little smokey too.
★★★★★
I have never been much of a green tea drinker but this is a great tea!
★★★★☆
This is a full-flavored oolong that works wonderfully with food or for sipping during the day. It's delightful to watch the leaves open up as the tea steeps.
★★★☆☆
Less smokey than gunpowder, but still has a hint of it. I have been drinking sencha lately, so this seemed a little strong to me. It was good, but not my favorite green tea. It was a little astringent and smokey for my taste.
★★★★★
You know, I usually don't like green tea at all but this is actually really good. I love that they're in pearls, that enthralls me. I can't wait to watch them unravel when I get my inginuiTEA. The only drawback is the smell, but it's not strong at all so I don't mind.
★★★★☆
A tasty, if basic, green that tastes like it says on the label.
★★★★★
I don't really know how to rate this one. My first sip was eww, don't like, but second sip was hmmm, maybe. By the time I finished the first potful (23 ounces) I immediately brewed another. After drinking two pots I don't know if I actually LIKE it, but I can't seem to stop drinking it. It's seductive, and I think I'm hooked. I need another cup . . . NOW.

I received this as a sample and loved it. Vegetal with a hint of sweetness, yet not overpowering.

A delicate green blend. I'm no green tea connoisseur, so it didn't taste like anything special to me.

Fabulous. Strong flavor- another great Adagio green tea!
★★★★★
Excellent tea! Fantastic flavor. It has become my husband's favorite green tea, and I need to reorder some soon!
★★★★☆
This is a lovely, simple green tea that is not too grassy and very smooth. The description provided by Adagio describes it quite well. It's a good one if you need a cup of tea to de-stress and don't want anything too loud or overwhelming, but still want something with a little character.
★★★★★
This tea is a good balance of sweet, almost fruity, and smoky. A satisfying green, if a little on the subtler side.

1/23/14 Evening pot. 3g/6oz/180F/3min. First impressions. A soft vegetal aroma , and pale translucent brew. Bitterness. Almost a hoppy character. Heavy in the mouth. Good. I like it a lot. A lasting finish. The opened leaves are velvety looking. I want to try brewing this gongfu style when my gaiwan arrives.
