Tightly rolled fuzzy buds give a soft, fruity sweetness enfolded by a rich, smoky note similar to gunpowder, but more complex and crisp.

It's a good green tea for the price! It's one of the least expensive options here on this site, yet the taste is remarkably similar to the most premium tea option of many brands.

I like Gunpowder but can never seem to brew it properly as it's hit-and-miss on the taste. Sometimes too smokey on the first brew and I don't get the ideal cup until the second or third brew (on the other hand, talk about great value and more tea for the dollar!). Sleeping Dragon hit the mark for me --- not as smokey and gives me a consistently wonderful cup of green tea. Definitely becoming one of my favorite.

Love this green tea! I used to live in China and this tea tastes just like my 'second home'. A couple leaves is all you need. I never used a tea bag for this tea, not did I ever take the leaves out. I just kept adding water (just like we did in Chengdu).

★★★☆☆

I thought this tea was okay. A little too grassy for me.

★★★★★

A fairly mild, more traditional tasting green tea. I personally enjoyed the milder green tea flavor.

Another staple green tea for the WIN! I love the subtle nuances that this green tea adds to the cup! Such a deep, complex flavor palette to provoke a thoughtful experience.

This is a very good green tea that tastes like Chinese restaurant tea. If you are a beginner in brewing tea, look into the VarieTea kettle to get your water at the proper temperature. otherwise it will not taste right, and green tea is particularly fickle in this regard.

★★★☆☆

Being a huge fan of Dragonwell tea, this sleeping dragon tea is a bit vegetal for my taste. I also think that the instructions from adagio to steep it for two minutes are off, a minute would probably be better. It turned out a bit bitter with my first steep. my second steep was for a shorter time and that one was much better.

★★★★★

One of my favorite everyday teas. The flavor never melts into the background.

★★★★★

I like this one better than gunpowder. It isn't as strong and is easier for me to enjoy.

★★★★★

I love watching the pearls unfurl. The flavor is smooth and the pearls can be brewed at least twice.

★★★★☆

This is one of the best green teas that I have had in terms of straight green tea. I have to say that I am partial to most loose leaf tea though, so this came as no surprise to me.

★★★☆☆

Perhaps I brewed it too long, but rather than getting a subtly sweet tea that tasted of gunpowder, I got more of a bitter vegetable broth taste. The taste overall is much stronger than most green teas I've had, which is a positive point. I only wish it were more of a pleasant taste.

I won't rate this one too poorly because I feel my opinion is inherently biased by my inexperience with tea. Nonetheless this was overly smokey and earthy for my taste. Glad I went with the sample size!

★★★★★

Amazing tea. I actually get a kick out of watching it brew as it opens up and becomes long leaves from the tiny pellets. Tastes great!

★★★★☆

I really enjoyed this tea. It got me through a really rough bout with the flu. It is much more mild than a traditional gunpowder green tea. It is a gentle and sweeter version that was quite appreciated while being sick. It's not a particularly strong tea and recommend adding a little extra. The little rolled up pearls of leaves are a bit bigger than the usual gunpowder I buy, and find it is better to steep them loosely, not so great in a tea ball. I would say that this is a good green for those who like a lower astringency green with minimal vegetal and grassy notes. Nice for someone who thinks they won't like green tea.

Delicate, but smoky aftertaste. Lovely light green tea for the afternoon without being too subtle and light. Definitely prefer it to regular gunpowder since it has more complexity.

light flavor, good for an introduction to green teas.

★★★★☆

A good, strong tea. Very nice depth of flavor. No complaints at all. 4/5

★★★★★

I feel great after drinking this tea. It has become one of my favorites!

★★★★☆

Sort of like Gun Powder, but the taste is more 'green.' I prefer Dragonwell, but for the price, this is a very good green tea. Good iced too.

★★★★★

im not a big fan of green tea, but this was absolutely delicious. it doesnt have that overwhelming plant flavour some green teas have. im going to be buying more in the future, definitely.

★★★★★

a great green tea, some of the characteristics of gunpowder (which I love), but greener and fresher in taste. seems to be a healthy choice.

★★★★★

Sleeping Dragon tastes like a milder version of Gunpowder, but perhaps with a bit more smokey flavor. Very good!

★★★★★

A nice classic green taste. Very vegetal but slightly soft. A subtle smokiness but very nice flavor overall :]

★★★☆☆

I would have preferred a stronger flavor - although, I realize it says 'sleepy' so maybe I should try again before bed.

★★★☆☆

stronger than other teas im used tea, i add a bit more honey to this, but then its very good.

★★★★☆

Better than most Chinese green teas I've had. A nice change from the usual.

★★★☆☆

A bit grassy and vegetal, especially in the smell. not quite what I was expecting. It's a light enough taste to not be horrible, but I am not very fond of this tea at all. Would probably be much more pleasant if I were a fan of grassy/vegetal teas. The smell is rather enjoyable, actually, but not in the context of being a tea.

★★★★☆

My favorite green tea. it's what I drink before bed every night.

★★★★★

Yes...if you wanna wake the dragon, here is a great place to start. A cup will have you ready to snort smoke, breath fire and burn the world down!

★★★★☆

This is a good green tea. I don't mind the 'grassy taste' of many greens, but this is more of a smokey tea, like gunpowder. However, it's milder than gunpowder, and it creates a very easily drinkable cup of tea. I use at least a bit of sugar in most every tea, but I drink this one straight. I like to make a pot at night and use it to wind down the day. (The time wouldn't let me put it. but I actually steep it for 2.5 mins at 185)

Smooth and a little smokey, but just a tad. I don't use a full teaspoon to fill my difuser, and I still have a great cup of tea.

★★★★★

This is a lovely resteepable green tea that is a lot softer than most.

★★★★★

This tea is great. It's lightly smokey on the tongue, but sweet and delicate going down. The aftertaste is unmistakably green. I think this tea would be good for people who are just discovering the world of green tea, because this tea has a lot of depth. The leaves unfurling in the water reminded me of a sleeping dragon! They are very fun to watch because they unravel like gentle breathing.

★★★★☆

This is VERY grassy. Like a Japanese tea, but more subtly sweet and slightly smoother. It's still, good, but I was epecting something closer to gunpowder.

The name alone is fun and the tea is delicious. Try it!

★★★★☆

I actually like this? It tastes like calm if calm had a flavor.

★★★★★

Fabulous. I really loved how the leaves uncurled as they steeped, and while it has the grassy aftertaste green tea is known for, it was very light, and incredibly pleasant.

★★★★☆

This reminds me of the green tea you can order at sushi bars, still very refreshing.

★★★★☆

This tea surprised me. I'm normally skeptical of things described as 'smoky', but it held its end of the bargain. My cup had a mild, well-balanced flavor accented nicely by the smoky note. It had a pleasant aftertaste.

★★★★☆

sleeping dragon is a light yet crisp and smoky tea, good but since it is asleep it doesn't quite knock my socks off

★★★★★

Hooked! Ok, I will admit that I used to be hooked on Teavana's Emperors Cloud Mist Tea but no more. Sleeping Dragon is my new baby. Sorry Teavana but Adiago has taken over my life. The price is reasonable first because I drink at least 2-3 cups a day and I'm not the type to re-use the teas over and over again. I think the first steep is the best. Sleeping dragon has the right flavor for me. Warm, a little nutty and refreshing. I can drink it hot or cold. Ok, you can choke me because I used to microwave my water but since falling in love with this tea, I take time out to boil water to perfection. Ok, off to enjoy my new favorite tea!

★★★★★

yum yummy in my tummy. The prices are bad either! Check it out.

★★★☆☆

The tea tastes a little too earthy for me, it didn't taste awful but just your regular cup of green tea.

★★★☆☆

I thought the tea was good enough to drink again, but I might want to try some other teas before ordering this one again.

★★★☆☆

This was a good tea, so I feel kind of snobby by calling it 'unremarkable'. It has a nice earthy tone to it and I enjoyed the rolled leaves, but it wasn't life-alteringly delicious. But don't get me wrong, it was perfectly fine... just not mind blowing.

★★★★☆

This was given to a friend who is a fellow tea fanatic!

★★★★☆

The sleeping dragon has awaken. A nice mellow blend that satisfies the pallet.
