picked up a trial pack with another order. Kinda wish those pack had another serving, guess I'll need to buy more.
Tightly rolled fuzzy buds give a soft, fruity sweetness enfolded by a rich, smoky note similar to gunpowder, but more complex and crisp.

Really cool tea! The way the balls unravel really helps to visualize exactly what you're drinking. Had a bit of a sea taste to it but it was hidden enough that it was more of an accent than anything else. You really have to be precise with how long you steep it or else it becomes too bitter.
My everyday green tea. Solid taste, inexpensive, and hard to mess up even if over/under steeped a little.
Pretty good green tea. Can definitely taste the smokiness. Maybe the way I made it though. :)
Makes me want to go to sleep with taking melatonin.
A nice smooth green. Not overly earthy or astringent. Very enjoyable.
I've only tried this tea once, and I didn't brew a particularly good cup either but I can definitely taste the potential of this tea if it's brewed at just the right temperature. Looking forward to getting it right the second time!
I liked the smoothness of the tea, very refreshing. I added sugar as is my preference. It did not actually need that. I found the leaves interesting, like the taste. Starting small and expanding.
I just can't make myself like green tea. Don't want to give it a bad review, but not my cup of tea.
One of my favorite green teas. Really complex flavors. :)
a nice mellow green, similar to gunpowder but less smokey and a little sweeter. Good for an afternoon pick me up or when feeling under the weather
I love this green tea. It's not too grassy and has a nice mild flavor.
I mentioned in my gunpowder review that I get this one and it mixed up. Both are really good, but one is slightly better...I just can't remember which.
This green tea has a bit of a bitter taste to it, it is not my favorite.
This is a very good green tea, it is subtle but complex, the name does it justice.
Pretty sweet buds resulting in a perfectly balanced, smooth cup.
Mild, yet delicious. I recommend this one definitely.
I am REALLY not a fan of green teas in general, but this tea was very good. It's the first green tea I've tried where it tasted like more than hot water to me. This one had flavor and depth and is definitely something I will buy again.
This is definitely my new favorite green tea. Delicious with some local honey, hot or iced.
A nice balanced tea. Can taste the smokey notes. I did not find any of the flavors to be overpowering.
This is a great tea. Has a great flavor. I love it!
This tea had 'Japanese Tea' taste to it. Kind of swampy grassy tasting. I had bought the best tea from Japan here years ago and this tasted just like that did.
Tasty green tea! Good for multiple steepings. I am a fan.
I honestly was not expecting to like this tea. However it tastes very good and I like the taste!
This is a nice green tea. I like to use it with a small blend of herbal tea for some extra flavor.
I was surprised by how much bang for my buck I got with this tea. It tastes amazing and looks great when it unfurls.
It's very flavorful! I use less then the suggested amount too.
I'm going to agree with another reviewer: this tea is neither too sweet nor too grassy nor too smoky, nor too bitter. While this is a perfectly fine cuppa, as in there's nothing I dislike. there's also nothing particularly notable about it which makes me love it.
Update: Steeping it for 3 minutes instead of 2 bumped this from 'ok' to 'good' - much more sweetness at 3 minutes!
I somewhat enjoyed this, but I don't think I'll order it again. I just didn't like the actual flavor and thought that I had tried better teas...
This is a good green tea, nothing super special or amazing about it but it is still good.
An easy to like, easy to drink green. I definitely enjoy it, but I don't look forward to it as much as I do some other teas.
I really enjoyed this tea. My only problem was that I don't have a variable temp kettle so it's difficult to replicate the first delicious tea cup.
I'm a big fan of gunpowder, but thought I'd give this a whirl. Not as 'greeny' as other greens, but it'll go in my rotation.
This is a great mid to late evening tea. Strong but subtle tea. Definitely worth your time.
By far the best green tea I have ever indulged in.
One of the best green teas that I have tried. Not at all bitter or overly grassy.
Not the best green tea I have tried but certainly better than using common teabag green tea you might get from the local store.
This tea presented a bit of a seaweed/fishy smell and taste that I didn't care for. The second steep was better but this tea is just not for my palate.
Great standard green tea. Very mild in flavor and I find a great base to add other teas to. Watching the tea leaves expand and 'bloom' is even a little entertaining! Seeing all the whole leaves in my cup makes me feel like I'm drinking something real instead of just tea shavings like other tea brands. Two thumbs up!
Smooth and refreshing. This is a mild green tea.
This tea isn't my favorite. It almost tastes (or at least smells) like grape leaves. I like earthy teas, but this just isn't up my alley.. It's still drinkable, but I doubt I will get it again.
I drink this at work.and even when I over steep it the flavor is still very nice.
I like this one fairly well. Not sure that it will be a regular order but I will probably occasionally order it again.
So far, my most favorite green tea! It's got a great flavor and not unpleasantly smokey like some of the heavier green teas - this actually tastes excellent both hot or cold!! A pleasant, light flavor. And, maybe I'm a dork, but it's really fun to watch the tiny bead-like leaves unravel into the large leaves as its brewing!
Good standard green tea flavor. I would recommend this for anyone wanting to get into green tea.
these cute little leaves blow up massively in water, it was fascinating to watch! The overall quality and taste of this green tea is excellent and the SO's favorite green he's ever tasted.
The sleeping dragon is a great everyday green tea, nothing too special but really great.
A great tea but nothing mindblowing. Can't beat it for the cost, if you like a well-balanced, smokey green tea.
This tea was a little bitter or smokey to me. I think I will try brewing it little less. Many people like that taste, but I don't like flowery or smokey tasting teas.
A great green tea for when you don't want anything that's too overwhelming. It is similar to the gunpowder, but a tad more delicate and refined.
