So far, so good. It has a strong smell in the bag, but mellows once it's been steeped. It does indeed have the 'crisp finish' described with an overall pleasant mildness throughout. From the scent I was afraid it would be too strongly green, but it's not. I added one sugar to enhance the natural fruit sweetness.
Mild smokiness with a mild yet apparent grassy note. Very comparible to gunpowder.

I saw one review that called Sleeping Dragon a green tea for beginners. I have to agree. It seems more forgiving as far as oversteeping is concerned, and it doesn't have nearly as much of the seaweed-like notes present in gunpowder. I personally prefer gunpowder, but most of my family would probably prefer Sleeping Dragon.
An earthy tea similar to Gunpowder though notably more grassy than vegetative and a great cup for a beginner just trying green teas.

I love this tea. The smell of this tea reminds me of dragonwell tea. very nutty and roasty. a wonderful astringency with a buttery and light grassy undertone. This tea is excellent in my opinion. A hybrid between a dragonwell and sencha
It is a smooth green tea but I need to add some sweetener to it to enjoy.
This was a very nice tea. I got the sample since I don't normally drink green teas. I found that the flavor of this one wasn't very grassy, and was instead subtle and calming. I didn't taste very much of the smoky, 'gunpowder' taste that other reviewers have described. I'll definitely be drinking this one again!
first foray into green tea-scent and taste is savory. would be good with meal- leaves a clean mouth feel

This has become my favorite green tea. Smoother than most.
The taste of this was a surprise. When the description says there is a 'smoky' taste, that is exactly what you get. I steeped it for 3 minutes as suggested and the taste was too 'smoky' for me. It didn't smell good either. I think I should have steeped it for 2 minutes instead of 3 so I will try that for my next cup. If steeped properly this has potential to be a great tea.
Earthy and smokey, this is one of my fiances favorites, great ice or hot!!

I thought gunpowder was going to be my favorite out of the samples I bought until I tried sleeping dragon. Stronger, more complex flavor. Tastes to me like a green tea should taste. Eager to try more green teas as well!

This lovely tea has a soft (not overwhelming) smoky note and is not at all grassy, which I happen to dislike. A keeper, for sure.
A fabulous green tea! Not grassy or bitter at all. A light clean flavor that I truly enjoy. I drink it unsweetened and make it a bit stronger then recommended with 1 1/2 teaspoons of tea so I can resteep it a few times.
Very smokey, earthy flavor. I'm not sure if I just used water that was too hot (burning the leaves a little), or if that is its natural flavor. Will definitely try again, but I think I like fruity green teas better.
This is a good tea but very strong tasting. I mix it with green chai.

My favorite part of this tea is that the leaves unfurl as they steep in the water. It is my favorite green tea and I was pleased that it was not bitter.

This is nothing fantastic, but it's a nice, all-purpose tea. It's a good deal lighter than Dragonwell, but has a bit of the same nuttiness. It's a hint more bitter, since I steep this 2 minutes to the 1 I usually use for Dragonwell, but only a hint. This is one I'll probably take to work with me.
A little bit earthy and definitely smokey, while still being pretty light. It's not bad, but I'm not big on smokey.
I didn't care much for this tea at first, as I find it to be a bit bland for my taste. It's quite yummy with some honey added to it.
Very light for a green tea. Limited aftertaste makes it enjoyable to drink.
Enjoyable cup without too much of the grassy flavor that seems to occur in some greens. Just a touch of honey really brought out some of the flavors in this tea.

A tasty, delicate tea that could've been so much more. Maybe my palate is simply not refined enough, but I could not taste the hint of 'dragon' in this tea. I was hoping for a slightly bitter/spicy aftertaste or undercurrent in this tea. I did not taste it. My housemate said he did but he wasn't sure if it was the placebo effect or not.
A good green tea to start with if you're new to them. I won't be buying a larger package of this however, as there are other green teas on this site that I enjoy more.

This is a fairly good green tea. It has a bit of a bitter finish, but it isn't unpleasant. It has a soothing aroma, and earthy notes. Highly recommended for rainy days.
Careful not to brew this one too long. can get bitter fast, but when done right it has a very light green tea flavor to it.

I've been ordering this for a while. One tblspn at 175/3min - 2nd at 330 - 3rd at 185 for 330. I can get 3 steeps out of this. Plus I love dragons so, the name is fitting. This is a great tasting tea, no funny tastes, smooth.
Tastes good, with a hint of smokiness. Difficult to over steep this tea. Would recommend for people who dislike bitter teas. Fun to watch the leaves unfurl in a glass pot.
Edit: Decided I don't like the smokiness so much.

I love this tea. It is now my favorite green tea. I bought a sample of it along with a sample of Gunpowder green tea and I must say, this one stands out. The Gunpowder is still great, though.
