I was looking forward to trying this tea. I was disappointed. Not much flavor. I finally added some nice Jasmine tea and that was the only saving grace.

not bad, kind of astringent - tastes kind of like a weaker gunpowder tea

Yes, the name is cool and the tea is good. I enjoy drinking it hot. Mostly on cold nights.
Ok , only reason this got a 'bad' was because WITHOUT HONEY , it's a bit too harsh, and dry, with Honey is,the only way to drink this tea. Not my cup of tea.

Balanced flavor, with malty and earthy elements. It has a hint of lemon flavor to it. Doesn't have much of a 'plant' taste. It is tasty and smooth, and I loved it.

Very mild tea with MUCH less grass than most greens. I love the slight hint of smoke on the tail end of the swallow. that and the smooth mouthfeel make this my current favorite soothing tea. The smoke does tend to fade the cooler it gets, though, so it's not one to leave unattended for long.
Love these black teas! Each one has its own personality...Don't use creamer anymore, want to taste the tea,each has a particular flavor

Sad to see Sleeping Dragon is currently out of stock. It has a lovely scent and flavor, and doesn't get angry or bitter if I forget it for 7 or 8 minutes. I get 3 full steeps from a heaping tsp in my 12 oz cup. We also enjoy watching the full leaf 'dragons' wake up in the cup.
Similar to gunpowder, but I liked this one even better. Faint smokiness that's a little sweeter. This is a tad more mellow, I'd say, and a pleasant, calming drink.
I'm a big fan of gunpowder green tea, and this is very similar. It may be a bit more floral in taste, but I don't know that I would be able to tell the two apart in a blind taste test.

This tea is delicious - smokey and similar to gunpowder, but lighter with with a softer and sweeter note. It has a grassy taste, but it's not too much. The smell is amazing too, and the tea leaves themselves look really cool unfurling in the water. Sleeping dragon makes for a wonderfully balanced cup of tea, definitely a great green tea.
I absolutely loved this tea. Not weak and not overpowering. Just the right balance.
This is a good tea, but certainly not my favorite for a green. I think it would mix well, but on its own, the smokey flavor is a bit too strong.

I'm used to most green teas having a grassy, earthy taste, but this one was actually pretty nice. Not that I don't like grassy and all, but it was a different turn. The leaves give you a little bit of forgiveness if you accidentally steep it a minute too long, which I am very thankful for. A dollop of honey makes it an even better cup of tea. I will definitely be buying this one again.
Good but not as good as Teavana Emporer's Clouds and Mist like I had hoped.
It's an excellent green tea, the grassiness is somewhat minimal giving it a more mellow flavor.

I've only recently started drinking green tea and wouldn't really call myself a connoisseur. My preference is black tea, but I've been trying to introduce green tea into my day for it's health benefits. My first impression of this tea is that it's got a good earthy flavor and is definitely worth purchasing again.
I love this one! Similar to my favorite Gunpowder Green, but smoother, creamier. My #2 green tea!
This tea was recommended by our holistic doctor to drink in the morning mixed with the sencha. My husband isn't a big fan of green tea and he loves these two. He even says he likes the way they smell and he never says that about any tea.

Kind of the archetype of a great green tea. Extremely smooth with almost a honey-like sweetness, so relaxing, and good for 4-5 steepings in my experience! Not at all grassy.
A good smooth green tea. As others have stated it's more forgiving if you oversteep it, unlike some green teas that are beyond bitter if steeped too long.
I will admit to turning away from green teas because of the grassy flavor. I bought this with cautious optimism, due to the description, and was not let down. I have finally found a green tea that I like. Not bitter or grassy at all. Full, deep flavor. Awesome!
I mix this tea with Mint tea for some of the best Ice Tea EVER!!!
Good grassy green tea, I enjoyed this as a free sample and will think about reordering
