Average run of the mill green tea, I like the gunpowder feel but underwhelmed by the taste.
Tightly rolled fuzzy buds give a soft, fruity sweetness enfolded by a rich, smoky note similar to gunpowder, but more complex and crisp.

Average run of the mill green tea, I like the gunpowder feel but underwhelmed by the taste.
I bought this because I enjoyed the gunpowder tea so much, but wanted something a little less smokey. And also the name. Enjoyed it so much I sent some to my fellow tea-lover.
I like it, but not my favorite green. Not as delicate as other greens.
A great tasting green tea. This tea looks really cool and smells like a traditional green tea. I recommend it.
This tea was pretty good, but not the best green tea I have ever had. Green tea is my favorite kind of tea, despite its very specific and delicate preparation process, but this one was not special enough to repurchase for me.
Got this as a free sample, picking solely on the name. For a green tea (not my normal preference), it's pretty good, not grassy like some can be. I love the way the leaves unfold in the infuser. After reading more about the tea I think I would probably like Gunpowder even more.
So I am a COLOSSAL green tea fan - I've tried so many varieties, but I usually stick to Jasmine - until I stumbled upon Sleeping Dragon. This is the PERFECT green tea -wonderfully smooth and refreshingly restorative, with deep, intense taste too!
I love to wake up next to a (cup of) sleeping dragon. Smoky, bold, yet not overpowering. Nice gunpowder alternative.
The leaves look really adorable as they do look like little dragons! As for the taste. Well, if you don't sweeten it, then it tastes like bitter vegetables and earth. Sweetened, it tastes a bit better. Either way, it's subtle and certainly quite green.
I usually like my green tea to include a flavor like mint. But this one is good without. This one is not a favorite of my husbans's.
We put one oz by volume not weight into a drip coffee maker. Makes a whole pot.
I loved it. Besides the oolong and the green maicha this was a really good green tea experience. I didn't like the green oolong too much, but I loved sleeping dragon. It has such a light sweet taste to it. I made sure my water wasn't too hot and that it didn't steep too long and it came out perfect.
As far as green teas go this sample one was okay. Not too great but then I'm not much of a green tea drinker myself.
pretty new to green tea in general. this is good but I like others i've tried better
I definitely like this one better than gunpowder, but white monkey is still ahead in my book.
A flavorful green tea, slightly astringent, with a nice golden color. Adagio's description is accurate in that it is reminiscent of gunpowder tea. I prefer black teas but like this one as it has a bit more to offer than typical mild greens. A bit of lemon would probably work nicely here, but I've yet to try it.
This is so uniquely smokey!! I've had a lot of chinese greens and this definitely earns its name as a dragon. Resteeps wonderfully, too. Lower your steep temperature a bit and I think you'll enjoy it much more.
I really, really enjoy this tea and will continue to order it. The taste actually reminds me of Lipton's bottled green tea beverage.
We found this one to be a nice green tea, but honestly, nothing to write home about compared to other offerings here on Adagio. It's lighter and not too grassy, I guess a
'when ones has guests and don't know what they like' option. That's how I'm keeping the rest of my sample. Start with a sample if want to try.
A spoonful or two of this in a pot is enough. I made the dumb mistake of overdoing it and the pot was jammed with leaves, as they expand when brewed. Nice flavor. Adagio isn't cheap. So use with caution.
This is a lovely variant of green tea that reminds me of gunpowder green. Very flavorful
Got this sample included with my order. These adorable little bundles of tea leaves do, in fact, resemble tiny sleeping dragons. It's a delicious tea and a must for any lovers of green tea.
I am not much of a green tea drinker. I don't care for the thin mouth feel, and am not a fan of the vegetal or grassy flavor profiles of most. This tea was quite good though. I purchaed it for my husband, but I tried it and enjoyed the bit of smokiness to it. I think I'll have to use some of it for my own.
Nice green tea that creates beautiful color in the cup
This blend is similar to gunpowder (OK, but nothing special), but this is much better. It taste grassy. After drinking a large mug of this, I had to brew the tea again for more. That has never happened before. Very soothing and complex.
Awesome flavor! Beautiful color! And I was just amused to watch the 'sleeping dragons' wake up as it steeped! Haha! :)
Very mild, grassy flavor. It's hard for me to form a strong opinion on it either way.
Loved this! I sometimes get turned off by the grassiness of green teas, but this one was mellow, sweet, and mild without the tangy aftertaste of stronger greens. My favorite way to drink it is to pour it over a sprig of fresh mint in the teacup. Yum!
Definitely more smoky than grassy like other green teas...I'm just starting to suspect I don't actually like green tea.
This was pretty good, was looking for something other than an earl grey to add to my collection. This is a great green tea flavor, we just like teas with other flavors in them.
Good base level Green Tea for novice tea drinkers. Also, very good quality for the price. Tastes a lot like Gunpowder, but a little lighter in flavor. Good for the price, especially if you buy a pound!!!
I have always loved sleeping dragon. It's a nice slightly smokey smooth floral green tea. It's one of the teas I need to always have on hand.
it brews up looking more like an oolong than a green tea. it's got a very light floral scent but a nice strong flavor. it's a great mid-afternoon pick-me-up.
I hate the new packaging. The tea bags are loose in a large bag (the same one they ship the medium sized bags of loose tea in). so now I have to take all the bags with me or put the tea bags into a separate bag to throw in my purse. Bring back the individually wrapped teabags!
This one had a slight dung flavor. Or if you've been around horses, it tastes and smells a bit like horses.
I am glad that a friend had me try green teas. This one is good, I like o drink hot tea while I'm at work and have a variety to choose from.
I admit that I wanted to try this tea for the name. I've had gunpowder teas from other sources and really enjoyed them, so when other reviewers mentioned that this tea is similar, I thought I might enjoy it. My gunpowder sample from Adagio is almost here, so I can't say which I like best yet, but sleeping dragon is awesome! It's smoky in the best way possible, and the green tea flavor still comes through. I love it! I brewed it an extra minute beyond the package's instructions, to give the leaves a better chance to uncurl. It wasn't bitter at all.
This tea seemed stronger than gunpowder to me, even with added spearmint. It was too strong and spinachy for my tastes.
I love mixing this team with the jasmine chun hao tea for a nice mix of flavors.
I'm on my second cup as I'm typing this, and it's delicious. A gentler version of gunpowder without a doubt, the tea is so pretty in the cup with a subtle smell and taste that hardly required anything added beyond a drizzle of honey. This is probably the favorite blend out of my recent order and I will happily be purchasing this again!
A really good basic green. Honestly, I didn't know how much I'd really enjoy this until I made a cup and it was just... solid. Really solid tea.
While I don't this tea is very complex, it makes a VERY good 'Moroccan Mint' variety when paired with Adagio's herbal peppermint tea. The pairing is one of my favorite things to drink in the evening. I urge everyone who likes Moroccan Mint to try the combo!
A mild and unpretentious green tea--good introduction to the group/type for someone (me) who hasn't much experience with it. I'd need to try some other green teas to get more specific about this one, but first an electric kettle with temperature settings! I know that makes a difference with greens and oolongs.
Bit more of the 'green' flavor, but not overpowering. I have ordered twice now and enjoy as a simple tea.
delicious tea, one of my new favorites. try it today!
I love this tea. Just don't seep it too long. Tastes bitter when too strong.
I love this tea, doesn't matter if I let it sit for a while. it tastes just as good slightly warm as it does hot.
I steeped this a minute too long and it was bitter, but once I figured it out, it's a really pleasant green tea. Not really too much of anything.
New go to tea. I will be transferring to this after using gunpowder.
this tea is a real different green tea. has almost a pu erh tea flavor but mild compared to them. not to bad after a few sips.
It was a good tea, but it was a little too...smokey for me. I wanted to try it at least, and I'm glad I did, but I don't think I would buy it again.
I love this tea so much! I love the light smokiness that I get when I drink this tea. I personally do not like green tea but with a name like sleeping dragon I had to try it and i'm glad I did! It's better hot than it is cold personally.
