mellow, calming green tea that is good hot or iced
Fine twisted young leaf that resembles a chun mee style but interspersed with silvery down-covered buds.

mellow, calming green tea that is good hot or iced
This was a very mild tea. Very satisfying cup of tea, smells of honey and slightly fruity. Tastes delicious with hints of smooth smokiness.
A nice sweet but not too sweet tea! Wonderful warm, but chilling brought out some of the more delicate undertones. Will purchase again!
This is a solid green tea. Smells oddly like Ghiradelli dark chocolate + raspberry squares out of the bag, but that wasn't too off-putting. Silver sprout doesn't make a very strong cup, definitely tastes like a green tea. Not overly grassy (though I personally like the grassiness of green teas), nor astringent. It doesn't wow me, but it's a very pleasant cup!
I really liked this tea! It's a nice, light green tea that reminds me of gunpowder.
This is. Y first review here, and sad to warn this is one of the few negative reviews I’ve ever written. I brewed this per package instructions for perhaps. Bit more than 3 minutes at 180 degrees. At first blush I was taken back by the aroma which I found quite unpalatable and hardly floral at all. I fund this brew be quite bitter with more of ... a nutty flavor? After another taste ai decided to add some raw organic orange honey which smoothed out the bitterness but did little for the offensive aroma. To the end I added some Sakura (Pickled Cherry Blossoms) and a few freeze dried sour cherries which actually developed into a quite palatable brew. I am still enjoying this as I write with a caution to anyone new to this particular tea. It’s not Silver Needle and certainly not for everyone.
I like this a lot when I want a milder, still not grassy, green tea. Very similar to gunpowder but more subtle in flavor.
Oops - think I brewed too long - bitter but interesting flavor. Will have to try again ...
Not my favorite, but still a decent cup of tea. The flavor is similar to that of gunpowder tea but far less potent.
Grabbed this because it was on sale and I was honestly a little disappointed at first. I like a little more substance and flavor, and this seemed pretty mild. However, over time, I have come to enjoy it when I want something light with lunch at work. It has it's place, but wouldn't be my go to when I want to relax with something good.
A nice green with a light lovely flavor, i did not get the buttery mouthfeel but instead a dry finish.
Its a green tea, not as good as some of the others in my opinion, similar to gunpowder
This a delicious and delicate green tea. Love the flavor! I steep at 180 for about 2-3 minutes. Like it in the afternoon or early evening. Fortunately, caffeine has not affected my not being able to sleep! PTL!
Delicate. Fresh. This makes me think of spring even though it's a hot tea for most people. I'd btw some just to cool it down as iced tea though, and add some frozen or fresh fruits to makeit even more delicious. I'd create so many variations. When drinking it hot i can add things like orange peel to give it that extra flavor boost. I'd buy this again and is also recommend it to others.
Nice and refreshing and has more complexity than I was initially expecting. A nice every-day tea.
It was grassy and tasted of green vegetables. Good for tea eggs.
Excellent tea for for an afternoon break. Light and refreshing, with no bitterness. Mellow and easygoing tea, smooth with a good mouthfeel.
While I've been drinking tea for 40 years or so, I still feel like a newbie. My go-to morning tea is Hojicha - a very different experience. This is very delicate by comparison. I agree with the others here who taste grape-like fruitiness with a clean, dry finish. Very neutral and pleasant, but not much depth of flavor. This is a tea you can drink all day. And at the price, it's a bargain.
Compares to a 'jade green' I buy locally. Pleasant afternoon tea, not overpoweringly grassy.
Mellow, smooth, well-rounded green tea. Brewed at package specified time and temp. Would recommend to friends!
Silver Sprout is smooth and delicate on the palate. It is a mellow tea!
i'm so glad i went for the 16oz bag untasted. it's well-balanced, and the smokiness is less prominent to me than it was to others. it came through more in my second steeping. it has a buttery, toasty aroma with a very light vegetal taste. i find dry green teas to be slightly addictive and i prefer to drink mine a bit bitter/oversteeped.
This tea was a new experience and lived up to my expectations
This tea is really nice. The flavors are subtle and clean.
This is a pleasant green tea. Very refreshing. If you re looking for a green tea that doesn t have flavors added to it then this is a good tea for you.
Lovely green tea! We drink this tea every day, it is our green coffee!
I got the 3 oz. bag of this tea and I'm glad I did. It's become my morning green tea, and not because it's a bigger bag. This tea is a great green tea--not really subtle, but not astringent as long as you keep it at or under 2 minutes. I haven't gotten any smokiness from it if that's something you're sensitive to.
Not exactly my favorite green tea; but, definitely not bad. Light floral/honey scent with slight smokiness. I found that I had to brew it for 5 minutes at 180. At 3 minutes, the scent was there; but, no taste.
This is a very simple green tea without the complexity of flavor that you'll find in more expensive teas. Nevertheless, the mellow flavor is still pleasant if not a favorite.
I m not a huge green tea drinker, but this is a good tea for when I m in the mood for green. Not too astringent, and fine to drink all on its own, without sugar.
A lovely, subtle green tea. A bit soft for my taste, but it is nice on a day when I'm looking for less punch.
A light and tasty green tea. You probably won t be able to get multiple steeps but if you don t like the grassy taste of most green teas, you will probably like this one.
Nice genuine green tea flavor, not too strong or smoky.
This is a very subtle, soothing kind of tea. It has a bit of smokiness. I would recommend this if you're looking for something a little less intense.
Another favorite in teas I regularly order from Adagio. Just the way I light my tea: light and soothing, calling for a second cup.
Not bad at all for a green tea.
Has a slight smoky flavor to it
It's ok. Nothing bad but nothing special in my opinion.
This is a good tea for the money. I always order it because I like to have variety. Not as flavorful as I prefer.
I m usually never too picky about steep times with most teas, but this one in particular is very sensitive, and will turn bitter if over steeped. I found i actually enjoy this one only when steeped for 2 minutes or 3 at max. Steep 2 minutes then pour... add more hot water, steep 2 min then pour, etc...
Awesome price for such a great tea! This is another one of my go-to daily green teas.
A pleasant green tea, good hot or iced- but turned bitter very fast with even a short oversteeping when hot.
This tea was just ok. It is similar to gun powder green tea, but lacks the nice smokey flavor.
A good, robust green tea with a well-rounded finish.
Great tea! Sometime it hard to pick a favorite, this is very much in the running for a favorite. I like it iced with a touch of honey.
44/100
great fresh taste. loved it. It is good when i'm in any mood
Better than good tea. This has an awesome copperish color that appears to get darker the longer it steeps. If copper had a taste to it, then this tea has it. An interesting copper metallic taste...if copper has a taste then silver sprout has nailed it!! My approximately 20 to 24 oz glass teapot yields about 4 to 5 5 oz cups with cups 2 thru 5 tasting the best. Unfortunately, as one other reviewer noted, this tea only good for about a single steep. Other than that a great tea!! I rated this as 'good', only because there is no other rating between 'good' and 'great'. So call my review 'Between 'good' and 'great'. Thanx Adagio!!
It's very similar to Sleeping Dragon and Gunpowder teas: light, delicate, and pleasant.
Medium flavor - not too vegetal or acidic. A soothing cup.
This is nice if I want a lighter bodied tea. It doesn't seem to do well with multiple infusions.
