This tea is great, very sencha overtureyyyyyyyyyyy
Classic steamed tea from Shizuoka, Japan. Rich, brothy texture (when steeped as strongly as you might find in Japan), refreshing aroma. Rounded finish that coats the palate, sweet flavor reminiscent of tender steamed veggies and fresh seaweed.

This tea is great, very sencha overtureyyyyyyyyyyy
This sencha has a really good flavor, and it is very easy to get at least 4-5 brews out of it. It is a little broken up and there is powder at the bottom of the bag, but for the price and flavor it is a great buy.
We tried so many different brands of sencha and none of them compares to sencha overture from Adagio.
This tea is great. It's my new favorite for at working during the day.
A staple in everyone's tea pantry. I drink several cups a day - love it!
One of my brother's favorite teas to drink in the evening. Helps him get to sleep at night.
I enjoyed this tea..its a good everyday drinking tea. It has a spinach/veggie type flavor I enjoy.
This tea is not for everyone. It is very grassy and green with a refreshing finish.
Lovely green tea! good for when I want an alternative to dragon well.
A very good quality sencha that is good for multiple steeps. Grassy and fresh.
I was kind of disappointed by this. Maybe the Sencha I am used to is unusual, but this was much more savory than the stuff I am used to. Just wasn't the right one for me.
I have tried quite a few different sencha's from other companies. This one was great, especially when paired with their matcha! Great for studying, replacing with your everyday coffee (without the headaches or caffeine withdrawal and drop), or just enjoying on a cool day.
Sencha Overture is the best green tea I have had. The first sip was interesting as I had never experienced so spot on of a description- 'reminiscent of tender veggies and steamed seaweed.' This green tea inspired me to go outside and read Gary Snyder's poetry and ultimately get back into Zen Buddhism. I think of this as the ultimate green tea. Inspired by my 4 oz. of Sencha Overture, (most I've spent on one tea at the time) I bought 20 oz. of Chinese Dragonwell. I must have a special love for Japanese green because to me, this Sencha is better than the much higher priced Dragonwell. If you like strong tea that will warm your body and give you energy and inspiration, buy this.
For me secnha overture defines green tea, the subtle bitterness and grassy aroma enhance the delicious earthly taste.
Pricey, but certainly different. I recommend Sencha Overture for those who like green tea with a deeper flavor without too much bitterness. Don't oversteep it!
This tastes exactly as it's described, steamed veggies and seaweed. A very bold green tea, which I appreciate, but it's too savory for my taste. I like steamed veggies and seaweed, but I'd rather eat them. Though, it is growing on me with every sip. I still gave it 3 stars because I like that it lived up to it's description even if I wasn't too keen on the flavor.
I thought this tea smelled like grass clippings and tasted marginally better than I imagine a grass-clippings infusion would be, but I think that's me and not this tea. I wanted to try out Sencha and so I bought this, but was not impressed. I'll stick to blacks and herbals for now!
I've tried several of the pure greens now (meaning no additional flavoring), and this sencha overture of by far my favorite. I even prefer it to the sencha premiere, finding the overture to be bolder and more flavorful. I enjoy several cups in the afternoons and have decided to make it my afternoon regular.
Bit of a grassiness at first but enjoyable. The flavor grew on me. I found that it was a nice change from my daily gunpowder green.
Strong taste. high quality basic green tea to me. Would tell someone to try it.
I thought that I enjoyed sencha but after having a cup of this, it tasted like I just melted down some rubber and drank it. Hmm, for some reason I just don't like how it tasted. Maybe I steeped it for too long.
This is a solid every day green tea that never disappoints. I have been drinking this for over 5 years and it remains consistently of high quality. Best when temperature and steeping times are observed.
A wonderful vegetal taste and smell, perfect for the afternoon.
Very nice vegetable and seaweed flavor, but the seaweed element is more of the 'green' portion. It doesn't have the 'sea' in it so much. Strange to describe. I steeped this a second time and got more of the vegetable flavor. Very good! The leaves have a really great color and expand nicely.
After smelling the brewed tea, I worried it would taste more like broth, but the tea was bright, refreshing.
great floral undertones make for a vegetal true green tea
Beautiful texture.
Not as flavorful as its more expensive brother, but a decent tea for daily drinking.
I bought this recently for a trip and it was a really good green tea. Great tasting.
I think 2 minutes is a bit too long for a first steeping. Came out a bit bitter but still with grassy undertones and a vibrant, fresh green-ness. I don't know how to describe that fresh green taste more specifically than that. Second steeping at 1 min. at 176 degrees is much sweeter but still with that vibrant green finish.
I lived in Japan for a year when I was in college, and my host mother made tea for everyone every night. I haven't been able to find tea that was the same, until I had sencha overture. This green tea is amazing! I love it and I'm so glad I found it!
I really like this tea. It is very smooth and has a nice aftertaste. The flavor is assertive but not overpowering.
This is a really good Japanese green tea, however, that's not my favorite of kinds of tea. I like this tea for what it is however. It brews well, and has a vegetable taste without being bitter.
I will start by saying that I really love grassy, vegetal green teas, and this is one of my favorites. It's a great price/value, I get multiple steeps each time, and it's not overly sensitive. I steep for approximately 45 seconds at 175 degrees, add a touch of stevia, and voila! Delicious!
My wife likes this but for me it's to grassy. That bothers me so much I can't pay attention to anything else about the tea. I'd like to give it a fair shake but that grassiness just kills it. 29 Nov update: after playing around with steep times and brewing temps I will upgrade this to 'good'
My favorites are black teas but looking for something to change it up. This is a good tea that is satisfying.
Very grassy tasting, watch out as this can be over-steeped very easily and become bitter.
I don't know a whole lot about green tea yet, but I think this one will become a staple of mine. The flavor is warm and relaxing. it really helps me de-stress after a tough day. A few warnings: its dominating flavor is very grassy, so you have to be into that sort of thing. And it oversteeps really easily, turning bitter if the water is too hot or it steeps too long.
Great economical sencha tea, has a nice grassyness but not overwhelmingly grassy. Nice for an afternoon pick me up.
Amazing! A close second-favorite tea to the Genmai Cha (I love Japanese green teas)! The Overture has a really rich, complex, and deep essence that stands out compared to any other tea. Like with any Sencha, however, you have to be very careful not to oversteep. If you do, the tea can get bitter very quickly.
One of my top 5 favorites!
Very smooth, thick tasting tea. Think buttery greens or kind of like chicken broth. This stuff is loaded with that 5th taste umami taste that fills up your mouth with buttery sweetness. I would say that this tea, from it's taste, and how it relaxes me is probably slightly higher in l-theanine that the gunpowder tea I recently got. Also I have steeped the heck out of the sencha and it keeps on giving after 3 or 4 times.
I find this tea very enjoyable. It has a very enjoyable taste of vegetables and is great with a touch of honey.
Very satisfying tea. I've seen it described as 'seaweedy' or vegetable-like in its flavor, which I'd definitely agree with. All in all, it has a pure and clean taste coupled with those noted earthier elements.
Amazing! At first, I hated it because it had an incredibly strong bitterness that dominated every other flavor and made my mouth feel dry. But once I lowered the temperature all the way down to 140F-150F, it tasted just like it smelled! (like delicous fresh spinach)
This is a good substitute for sencha premier. Half the price but nearly as good. I like it hot and cold.
I liked this sencha, but honestly love the sencha premier much more! The Sencha premiere tastes more full, smooth and rich. (Hence the higher price.) I got this because it was more affordable but still very good compared to other companies. Sencha gives a nice clean energy boost with the coffee-jitter affects.
i actually like this one better then sencha premier. grassy and vegetal just like i like it.
The overture isn't quite as good as the premier, but for the price difference, the overture is just as good. Just be sure not to steep too hot or too long. That creates bitterness and astringency. But if brewed properly, it's a lovely cup.
Purchased for a friend. He loves grassy, vegetal steamed green teas, so this was on point as his morning cup. Subtle sweetness with slight bitterness.
it was ok. just tastes like a generic green tea to me.
