My favorite tea by far. Adagio describes it perfectly, very brothy with vegetable notes. The leaves are good for as many as 5 steepings. Watch out though, as it is very easy to oversteep and turn bitter
Classic steamed tea from Shizuoka, Japan. Rich, brothy texture (when steeped as strongly as you might find in Japan), refreshing aroma. Rounded finish that coats the palate, sweet flavor reminiscent of tender steamed veggies and fresh seaweed.

My favorite tea by far. Adagio describes it perfectly, very brothy with vegetable notes. The leaves are good for as many as 5 steepings. Watch out though, as it is very easy to oversteep and turn bitter
A subtle Japenese green tea. If you steep it too long it has a bit of a sour taste, so make sure to be careful and watch your time. There is a bit of a nutty taste to this tea. There isn't any steamy nor smokey taste to the finish. This is a good breakfast tea.
I imagine this being the 'go to' standard at a nice Japanese table. This is also a strong choice for me when a simple but flavorful traditional green tea is what's desired.
It's a beautiful cup of tea, nice and subtle with the grassy taste and the smooth mouth feel. Seeing this lovely yellow-green hue in my mug is just a perk.
My husband and I both, love the flavor of this green tea.
Sencha is one of my favorite teas. I like the bright, lively flavor that it has. This particular Sencha does not dissapoint.
Simple, clean tasting green tea. I had to use a bit more than I normally put in because I like my tea strong, but it tastes very good.
Pretty good! Purchased on impulse but It is a good daily tea.
Light and delicious! Be sure to follow the steeping instructions to get the most out of this tea.
Purchased to mix with two other green teas for it's health benefits. It is a great start to the morning!
Fantastic delicate flavor. Not too overpowering but still a noticeably fresh taste.
Oh my goodness I absolutely love this tea. It's slightly vegetal taste is like buttered greens and the delicate nature of the tea is excellent.
I actually brew for 45 seconds instead of a full minute. It's got a terrific, clean taste to it. I am a big fan of kukicha, which is a bit sweeter and earthier than this. Sencha overture is somewhat similar, but sort of lighter, not bitter, but not sweet.
This tea makes me feel like I'm in the green mountains of Japan. It's very green with a hint of sweetness.
Very good Japanese tea. I love gyokuro but hate the price, this is my daily tea when I don't want to waste the good stuff.
This is my standard, go-to green tea. It's fresh and grassy, and a great choice for an economical Japanese green. When I want to splurge, I like to make gyokuro, but with that one being a bit pricier, it's nice to have a really great, solid Japanese for everyday.
This was my first sencha and I really liked it. It took some getting used to, this was the first grassy tea i've tried, and now I have a new favorite tea.
Nice hint of lemony brightness and vegetal flavor. Clean mouthfeel, not brothy, just the way I like it! But I also tried the Sencha Premier and liked it ALOT more! But wouldn't turn it down if some nice Santa wanted to throw it down my chimney! (hint, hint)
This was alright. I had a sencha from another brand that I really loved so I thought I would try some from Adagio. It's not even similar, although this is still a pretty good basic green. I may try it again sometime though.
Sencha tea is one of my favorite green teas and this one was one of the best Sencha's I have had. I am going to try the premier next.
I would go for the Sencha Premier instead. This tea is a good gateway though as the premier is very strong. This tea is quite light on flavor
This sencha has one of the most prominent grassy/seaweed flavors that I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. On top of that it's slightly sweet and has a very smooth finish . Overall, thoroughly impressed and will be ordering again.
This was a bit too grassy. It isn't that I don't like it but it is not tops for me.
This is one of my favorite teas. I have been unable to purchase it through the company I have used for years. They were always 'out of stock.' Was very pleased to have stumbled upon Adagio Teas. The store was wonderful and the tea is even better (fresher) than my previous supplier. Will buy all my tea here now.
Favorite tea so far. Always a good stand by all day long.
This tea has a light and vegetal flavor, pale green color, and better as a hot beverage. It didn't amaze me, but it's a decent cup of tea.
At first I thought this was too grassy, but then I decreased the amount of tea I used and the brewtime. For my tastes, it's optimal with about half the recommended tea to water ratio, and a 2 minute brewtime. Then it comes through as milder and sweeter.
If you don't like this at first, experiment a little! It really is excellent tea, and cheap enough for everyday drinking.
great taste and not bitter. nice aroma and flavor.
I have been drinking sencha tea for many years, usually only trusting tea from a Japanese market in Manhattan, but I needed more and they do not ship. I tried the sencha 'overture' and it is very good - excellent flavor. Andy K - WashDc
Love this! I love the taste of strong veggies and this satisfies that taste well.
Grassy doesn't sound like a good way to describe a tea, but this is grassy in a good way. It looked so pale when I made my first cup I was afraid it wouldn't have much flavor, but it was very flavorful.
This is a very good sencha, perfect for regular brewing. The tea is light, sweet, grassy, and it has a clean finish to go along with a really nice vibrant green hue. Overall, a very good example of sencha.
This blend is comfortingly broth like and vegetal. Seriously, if one has a dreadful day, wants some kind of soup and is too lazy to make it...well, this tea would be a more than adequate substitution. Quite vegetal and toasty on the tongue, a bit of sweetness too, at the end of a swallow. It makes one feel quite nourished.
Aftertaste was a little 'flat' for my taste. Good evening tea.
Excellent Sencha, especially for the price. I ordered 16oz, and drink one or two cups a day. I would definitely order again.
You have to be in the mood for freshly cut grass. But if you are, this is a good bet.
This green offers a much bolder taste than a lot of the other greens I have tried from Adagio. I just got the sampler, but will definitely grab some more to use as an everyday tea.
I love green tea in all varieties, irregardless of the type. I think I had a harder time with needing to be careful not to oversteep it, because it got bitter quick. Delightful otherwise.
Excellent basic green. Tastes like Japan. :) I like to mix it 50/50 with cherry green for a more subtle cherry flavor.
awesome. delicious and cheaper than other stores.
Everything you'd expect from a nice sencha. Like with any green tea just make sure your water isn't too hot and that you don't oversteep.
A good economical and tasty Japanese tea. This green tea is my favorite for a late afternoon pickup.
Sorta has the infamous 'fishy' smell and taste a tiny bit, but for a green tea that has that, it's still super bomb. If you put the right amount of honey and a little bit of lemon juice, it tastes wonderful. Honey and lemon go amazing with almost any green tea.
One of the better green teas out there ! It's deff worth the price !
Very nice and bright green tea. Vegetal and nutty flavors and toasty notes.
This tea produces the most green cup of tea. I have to use a metal strainer because it clogs up really fine mesh filter screens. Health wise, this means this cup is highly healthy.
This green tea is good and flavorful and full body.
My absolute favorite. I have been drinking this tea every morning for over a decade. I still look forward to that first sip to start my day right.
Barely acceptable and doesn't rebrew well. Again, compared to a high-end product from a different company.
My dad bought me a box of tea in a Japanese airport on a business trip. Since I don't read Japanese kanji, I spent the last two year trying to figure out what kind it was.
FOUND IT!
This is exactly it!
This tea is true to the description. It has a light, crisp flavor, and is a bit on the seaweed/vegetable side.
I steep very quickly or else it gets too bitter. Great with honey or agave nectar and a slice of lemon.
