I do not like green at all, but decided to give this a try with the Communitea. I was very surprised! It is not bitter or strong. Even with nothing blended in, it was still tasty. It has changed my feelings on green tea.
Classic steamed green tea from Shizuoka, Japan. Crisp and clean cup, notes of freshly steamed edamame. Refreshing, sweet, and much more delicate than most Senchas. If you're new to Sencha (and the vibrant teas of Japan in general), this would be a great place to start.

I usually don’t like green tea at all, but I could see myself occasionally drinking a cup of this (or at least finish the cup I made with my communiTEA sample)
I don’t normally drink plain green tea but I got this as part of CommuniTEA. I really don’t like the flavor or smell of this at all, there is something extremely off-putting about it. I’m not sure if it’s because it’s green tea or specifically Sencha, but it’s just not for me.
I tried this as a communiTEA. The scent kinda put me off, but the flavor was better than I had anticipated. It’s very sweet. To be fair I am not a green tea expert by any means. I think I’ll stick to gunpowder for now
My first sencha, so nothing to compare, but I like this compared to other green teas I've tried.
Soft and sweet with nice grassy tones to me that I love from green teas.
I never much cared for green tea, and this was no exception. This may be the worst I have ever tried. It had a very odd taste and after two sips I poured it out.
A fine Sencha tea. A good flavor. A good color and aroma.
Great stuff. Wakes me up but does not make me jittery. I like it
Has the smell and taste of collard greens. I might be able to get used to it, but there are other green teas I prefer.
Very good green tea. Very earthy and Nutty. All around good green tea, will definitely buy it again
I didn’t like this tea at all, I don’t think this is a very quality sencha compared to other brands like David’s tea. I have sencha tea every morning and decided to give adiagio a try because they where much cheeper than David’s tea. But I must say I am disappointed, David’s tea sencha has a longer leaf and expands more which leaves versus the adiagio one which is short cut (almost tiny) and dose not expand. Another thing is the taste, again I’m used to David’s tea and there sencha isn’t as bitter compared to this one. All in all very disappointing
This is one of the finer flavored of the green teas and it is good to drink any time of the day.
This was a really great, refreshing, yet warm and nutty tea. It's just what I love from Japanese tea and the price makes it more doable than the gokyro. Nice color, too. Sometimes it's hard to get it right in that sweet spot, where the flavor is strong but the tannins don't encroach too much. When steeped a little longer, it is a puckering bitterness, but on the lighter side, it tends to be warmer, like steamed and buttered greens.
Quality tea I’m sure, but kinda tastes like the water drained from cooking spinach... I always combine with a cheaper fruity tea.
I really like this. It is different from typical green tea. This is light and grassy.
This is a good daily green tea for those who like stronger green teas. I have no problem getting a second brew from the leaves. With a 4 min steep it's still 80-90% the strength of the first brew.
Pretty good green tea, very grassy taste which I like and enjoy! However this tea was just average to me and didn't wow me like other teas that Adagio offers.
Warrants another sample order. 4 out of 5 cups turned out bitter. The good cup was great!
An aroma of matcha and a smooth taste if brewed carefully. Yields multiple brewings.
Slightly sweet edamame flavor. Very nice sencha taste with each infusion.
Was disappointed in this tea. I found it to be lackluster compared to the other senchas iv tried in the past. It also has a fairly large price tag for what it actually tastes like
I would drink black tea with sugar. I started to drink Sencha Premier about 3 years ago with out sugar. I no longer care for black tea. My 5% discount for my birthday cost me more.
Very disappointed in my last order. This tea does not have the great fresh aroma or taste of Sencha Premier I’ve had in the past. The good smell and aroma of Sencha isn’t there. Made the mistake of buying the 16 oz. size like I have in the past. Depending on how Adagio handles this may be my last purchase from them.
I adore this tea. I really like a grassy with minerality taste. It has a little bitter aftertaste that i actually like. I drink this all day and it keeps me alert without the jitters. Gong fu brewing is the way to go to really taste it. I enjoy switching back and forth beteen this and the slightly superior gyokuro. // upate: after having more experience with this tea i realize the bitterness was due to my over brewing it. It takes some experience to get it perfect.
My favorite Sencha by far. Very smooth but not too grassy like cheaper Senchas. Very nice palate-cleanser after eating a bit of dark chocolate.
I keep this tea in regular rotation. It has a bright, grassy flavor.
Sencha Premier: my new favorite, replacing Dragonwell (which I still love). Delicate yet powerful! Small in body packing a big flavor so don't be tempted to use too much. And the caffeine really revitalizes my afternoon, replacing a nap! I have captured back my afternoon from dragging to focused and energized. I love this tea!
Very smooth. I actually prefer the more robust flavor of the Sencha Overture.
Tasty, mild green tea. Full-bodied and flavorful.
Beautiful dark green leaves. Excellent grassy taste with a creamy mouthfeel. Thumbs up!
Delicious green. Strong flavor of greens with a tinge of sweetness.
A delicious and smooth Sencha with a smooth mouthfeel and slight grassy notes !
I am a tea addict and I especially love green tea. Once I tried Adagio's sencha premier I was hooked. I brew myself a small pot daily, good for the soul.
Wow. Crisp, clean, bright, sweet, edamame... I agree with all of these tasting notes. My wife dislikes the “grassy” flavor many greens have, but does enjoy Sencha Premier.
One of my favorites. I use this tea exclusively in a Yixing tea pot.
my husband and I don't go a day without having our quality sencha premier green tea for our health.
it's almost as good as the Gyokuro, but has a slightly bitter finish, more minerally. Very good though. My husband and i had to taste the Sencha and Gyokuro side-by-side in blind cups to choose the best, and it was a close choice.
Beautiful Japanese tea. I love the taste and color of this Sencha! Great quality!!!
I absolutely love this simple green tea. If brewed right it is perfect for an everyday wake up drink or for a mid day pick me up. I often times mix it with hojicha to give it a little bit of a roasted favor and change things up.
Just delicious, I love this tea and drink it daily.
This wasn't my favorite Sencha tea, but it's probably because I prefer a fruitier taste.
I can't live without Sencha - it's an essential part of my early morning routine. I can't imagine going back to Chinese green tea, i find its aftertaste intolerable since discovering Sencha. To me it's worth every penny.
I enjoyed this tea so much, I took it on vacation with me. When I didn t have access to hot water, I put the dry leaves in a water bottle and waited until the leaves infused the liquid. I will buy this again.
Good substitute for Sencha Overture, but not better imo. 2.25g in 250 ml.
Purchased as a gift for friends of the family! They have said they love it!
Where do I start? I really enjoy this tea. I love how smooth it is, I love the savoriness of the tea and the umami notes. It seems I didnt have a lot of the same problems others had with it getting bitter or the tea being finicky. I've tried the Sencha overture and really liked that, but this is out of this world. It's definitely a treat on a nice afternoon.
I made the mistake if steeping my first cup with water that was too high in temperature and was disappointed in the lack of flavor. Next day dropped the temperature down to 170 and was very happy, the tea tasted exactly the way I expected a premier sencha should taste,
The flavors here are beautiful, equal to some of the green teas we have enjoyed in the best tea houses of Beijing. Just wonderful
I like the flavor of this tea a lot. It looks pale in color, but has a nice, strong flavor.
