excellent green. will keep the gyokuro for impressing guests (and the occasional self spoiling) with and will drink this in its place for my own consumption.
Classic steamed green tea from Shizuoka, Japan. Crisp and clean cup, notes of freshly steamed edamame. Refreshing, sweet, and much more delicate than most Senchas. If you're new to Sencha (and the vibrant teas of Japan in general), this would be a great place to start.

excellent green. will keep the gyokuro for impressing guests (and the occasional self spoiling) with and will drink this in its place for my own consumption.
Maybe this was the wrong loose leaf green tea to try first, but it tasted like I was eating hay from the farm. I was impressed by its initial aroma, but maybe green tea is just not my tea of choice.
A bit grassy, but that's the nature of the tea. Mixes well with matcha.
This is a really good tea, but for the price, the Sencha Overture is almost as good. Save your money on this one. Buy the Overture and another green for the price of the Premier.
Fresh and grassy tasting. These are really growing on me.
this is my favorite everyday tea. it has a stronger flavor than the gyokuro and richer taste than the other greens.
this is a nice full bodied tea. i really liked the fresh leafy flavor of this one. Not saying that it tastes like grass( even though it smells like it) really great flavor with sweet under tones. great tea
Not our favorite green. We like it but do not love it. We buy much better sencha and other green teas from the Japanese supermarket. Might be a great and inexpensive way to try for someone who is unfamiliar with green teas.
Great, but not worth the price-- other green teas are very comparable, and not as expensive. Very pretty to brew, though, and makes great gifts.
Has to be one of the best green teas I've tried. Very clean tasting. You'll feel cleanse and at peace with this one. A good buy even if you only go for the sample pack.
Even though I was a little wary of this flavor as I am a tea novice, I was pleasantly surprised by the aromatic flavor. I will have to have a few more cups to see if it warrants a refill.
I wanted to try an expensive tea sample. I guess my pallette is not ready yet as I can't distinguish it from the other greens.
I liked it. more flavor than the sencha overture, but not worth the price, in my opinion. if you like sencha, go with the overture.
Very good, smooth, enjoyed this one very much, will definetly order again.
Absolutely amazing. When I was new to tea (converted from coffee) I enjoyed black teas. As time when by I learned to appreciate green tea. I tried this one after drinking other adagio green teas, and I loved it. You can really taste the freshness and quality.
Really tasty however the difference between this and the overture wasn't as great as I thought.
I've never tried real green tea until today. It's obviously not for me. Thank goodness for Adagio's return policy otherwise I'd be stuck with $44 worth of tea that tastes and smells like rotten seaweed. I can't believe people actually enjoy this stuff. LOL I'll be sticking with my other teas and avoiding the green ones like the plague from now on.
Excellent flavor. More of a green flavor than dragonwell. Can get bitter if steeped too long.
Sencha is my second favorite green tea (after Gunpowder). Smoother and less bitter than your average green tea which is good for me since I tend to over steep my green tea as it is.
This is obviously a good quality tea, but it wasn't too my personal tastes at all. Very nutty.
The sencha premier green tea is good, but I can't discern a significant different between this and the overture. This flavor is what I expect a green tea to be.
Similar to gyokuro. One of my favourite teas. Now I just need to win the lottery to be able to afford to drink it as often as I want to.
This is one good green tea. It is very earthy and takes a little getting used to. but i believe it is well worth the money spent. Great fo a cold.
Wow, this is really great stuff! The best I've had so far. It has spoiled me really.
I really thought I'd be crazy about this one, but I couldn't do more than a few sips. Smelled very much like over-cooked white rice, and didn't taste much more appetizing.
Gyokuro and sencha are my favorites. Very nice, mild, a bit nutty flavor. Sometimes I mix it with gyokuro for more subtle flavors and fuller taste.
Very good as long as you don't over-steep it. Not to worry if you do, a little soy milk evens out the bitterness.
This Sencha isn't bad. It isn't great either. It simply lacks depth. The color is wonderful and the leaves look lovely, it's the flavor that's lacking. I'd recomend this tea to those new to Sencha, but not to those who are knowledgable about Japanese sencha.
Excellent green tea--- very green and grassy. I used to live in the Shizuoka region in Japan where this tea is from, and I can tell you first-hand that the best green tea in the world is grown there. I'm glad that I can still enjoy such high-quality green tea in America!
A very smooth Japanese tea with nice aroma and taste. I enjoy this tea very much although the tea is pricy. A cadillac of teas!
The leaves smell very pungent, and the tea they make is a very concentrated green. If you really like the grassy smell/taste of green teas, you'll like it.
My husband loves this tea. I like it, but not quite as much as the gyokuro. This tea was more vegetal tasting than I prefer and not quite as smooth as I like.
This is one of my favorite green teas. Strong flavor but not overpowering.
This tea is currently my favorite, green or otherwise. Its strong, skunky green taste and aroma are right out front. Pretty color too.
This selection was a good basic tea selection, this was great mixed with other flavors as well.
This is a very nice green tea. It is smooth and full of flavor. Great for an afternoon cup of tea.
Hey, I like spinach . . . but not in my teacup. 45 minutes later and I still can't get the taste out of my mouth. Sorry but the spinachy odor and taste are so dominant they bury whatever other qualities this tea might have going for it.
This was my very first green tea. It was a bit 'vegetal' on the nose during steeping and in the cup...but once tasted, it became a very complex and interesting experience for me. I've always heard that green teas are subtle (much like dry wines to a newbie wine drinker) so I wasn't sure what to expect. It had a very nice taste hard for me to describe with a crisp/clean sweet finish. It definitely peaked my interest and as a result will be buying more green samplers.
Good color and flavor. I was surprised at how easy it was to order everything.
The Sencha Premier is and outstanding, wonderful tea. It is one of the best teas I have had the pleasure to enjoy.
Sencha premier is now my favorite green tea and one of the best teas I've found at Adagio. It's absolutely superb.
Great tea, crisp and fresh and just like the tea my host mom used to make in Japan.
One of the smoothest and flavorful greens I have had. Limited to occasional use though since its too pricey to really justify over some other superb but cheaper greens, I will save the cash for some special white teas. Despite this, its a great tea and really worth the price if you want a treat.
This tea is a real taste treat for me. It is the 'greenest' tea that I have had to date. It has a delicate taste not unlike young asparagus, or early sweet peas. This is a special tea that I treat myself with, and it has become a staple in my collection. I do not like the way that it has so much powder in it. I do have to use a bag when I steep it or the fine sediment gets to be a bit much ( maybe it was just this batch). It is a minor inconvenience considering the taste though.
Too grassy for my tastes. Given the price, I am especially not impressed. I guess I prefer the Chinese greens, which are a little mellower, like dragonwell.
This is a very good green tea. You just have to be careful to underbrew it just a touch so it doesn't get bitter. Once I figured that out, I became a great fan of this tea.
Very nice tea! I like that you can brew the same batch again and again!
This was my first go at a green tea and I love it. It is smooth and subtle just like the reviews I came across said before I ordered it. If you have never tried a green tea, I recommend this as a starter.
It was ok, at least you can try some teas before ordering big boxes.
Not my favorite of green teas, although I can't put my finger on why. I'm glad I went for the sample first. I guess I'm not much for first flush teas.
