The smoothest of all the Green teas I've had. The price, though, is what makes this tea less practical. This tea goes well with Proust. Unfortunately, I ‘m in college and simply cannot justify paying such a hefty price. Especially when I can drink Green Pekoe Blues, Green Anji, and Apricot Green.

This wonderful Japanese green tea bridges the gap between regular Sencha and Gyokuro. Serve it with baked goodies like Pepperidge Farm cookies, and you will have a pleasant afternoon.
★★★★★
I adore green tea for its crispness and its health benefits and this is definitely one of the best I have tried. A bit pricey, but for those who know their teas, a great buy.
★★★★☆
This one is a good classic Japanese tea. Try it with sushi or fish.
★★★☆☆
Fairly low quality sencha that is very unforgiving (like most low quality senchas). Not fresh.
★★★★★
For green tea lovers, I think this is a great buy. I think its a perfect green tea.
★★★★★
does tea get any better that sencha premier? sure, it's pricey, but i feel it's well worth it.

I just performed a blind taste test with my wife, a Japanese national, with 4 different varieties of green tea: sencha premier (Adagio), gyokuro (Adagio), a high quality but 'regular' sencha from a local grocery store, and sencha of unknown quality we received from a friend. For the test, we used 3g of each tea and 8oz of water.
Her response was 10/10 for the Gyokuro, which she absolutely loved, and 5/10 for the other 3 teas. So, based on this: If you want the best tea get the Gyokuro. If you want good tea at a reasonable price, skip the sencha premier, and get the regular sencha. I cannot recommend the sencha premier

Sencha is DEFINITELY an acquired taste. Drink it every day for a week and you will start to enjoy it. It reminds me somewhat of spring, and the ocean. That's right, it's a tea that TASTES like spring.
★★★☆☆
Not as good as I have hoped for. I'd rather spent a little more on gyokuro. Gyokuro is way better.
★★★★★
This is first tea I'd describe as being fantastic. So complex it's hard to explain. There's almost a hint of oyster in there. So many flavors... It's excellent!

A beautiful green tea, with a pleasant flavor. It also lasts for several infusions.
★★★★★
One of the best green teas I have ever had. Adagio has great green teas.
★★★☆☆
This was okay - I guess I was expecting something really wonderful - disappointed in this tea.
★★★★★
Sencha is my favorite green tea. Very grassy and natural with a clean finish. Good for when you don't want something as strong as a black tea.

This was a nice tea, but I prefer either a sweeter green or a ricier green (like Genmaicha). This had a faintly seaweedy flavor that wasn't my thing.

This is a typical Japanese tea. It brews a pale yellow and is very aromatic. It is very similar to Gyokuro as far as being a sweet, delicate brew.

I think it was a bit over-rated but still a very good tea. I enjoyed the smell as much as the taste. This may be a nice leaf to blend with something a bit louder.
★★★★★
I thought this tea was just lovely, one of the better tasting green teas I've had. I highly recommend it to those that have a fondness for green varieties.
★★★★★
Definitely one of the best green teas I've ever tasted. Delightfully fresh aroma and flavor.
★★★★★
This tea is AMAZING - my new favorite green tea (the ginseng green being a close second) - it has a vegetable flavor that someone described as tasting like spinach but I think it tastes like corn on the cob! Don't even read the rest of the reviews - listen to me! BUY IT NOW!

A really good green tea. One of the best I've had. I always enjoy a cup after dinner. It is quite soothing, while stimulating.
★★★★★
The only reason I didn't get the bigger size is because my shopping cart already had $50 worth of tea in it - I'm crazy, I know. This tea is another one of the BEST green teas I've had. It's so smooth and definitively different than the other greens. I'm ordering the overture now just to compare it, but I tend to like the premier/prelude versions better.
★★★★★
Reeeeeally good Japanese green tea. I work with Japanese families who regularly serve me excellent tea. Nice to find an American loose-leaf supplier of same.
★★★★☆
This has a strong green taste to it, and a kind of vegetable scent as well. But, that being said, if you really like green tea and you like it fresh, this is a nice tea to try.

Nice leaf shape, good taste, relatively green on infusion. Makes good multiple steepings. My only wish is there might be more options in the sencha.
★★★★★
I recommend, it is an all around good tea, but be carul to brew properly or it will become bitter.
★★★★★
I love this green tea, but it MUST be steeped in cooler water (180 degrees) or else it's ruined.
★★★★★
A very fresh and clean taste and smell - reminds me of the summer (which is nice after a long winter!).
★★★★★
It is so good to find Shizuoka green tea online! Clean, healthy taste. Great everyday.
★★★★☆
Great green tea. Delicate flavor..prefer the dragonwell over this. Although I can see this flavor growing on me
★★★☆☆
I wasn't to impress with this tea. It had to much of a grassy tea.

The taste of spring! this tastes like the scent of a new-mown lawn!(this is a good thing, not a bad thing). It's great to wake up to on a winter morning, making you know that spring is on the way!
★★★★★
My girlfriends favorite - she cannot go a day without it (the tea that is)
strong distinctive flavor - almost briney
takes me back to tokyo
★★★★★
The Sencha Premier sample is a great introduction to Japanese teas for those who haven't tried them.
★★★★★
This is one of my favorites, one of best green teas I ever tried. Get this, I am NOT a green tea person and I LOVE THIS DRINK!
★★★★★
I haven't been able to drink tea like this since I was living in Japan. Absolutely wonderful, worth the price. Great sencha through and through, most highly recommended.
★★★★★
Wonderful. Expensive, but worth the price if you can swing it.
★★★★★
This, along with Jasmine, would be my favorite so far. I am amazed to see that tea should not have that bitter taste. I now know why people drink so much tea, they drink great tea. I have easily become a 4 + cup a day tea drinker.
★★★★☆
A nice green tea. I find it relaxs and sooths me.
★★★☆☆
Sencha Premier is a very strong black tea. Follow the directions closely or you'll end up with a very bitter mess. Otherwise, it is very nice, but stronger than I prefer. The best way to describe it is a rich, full bodied, deep, black tea with an almost woody after taste.
★★★★★
Another fine green tea. Similar clean, grassy flavor as the gyokuro.
★★★★★
I liked this as much as I like the "regular" sencha tea. I found that the other Sencha seems, to me, to have a stronger aroma. Is that possible? or is it just me?
★★★★★
Very good quality green tea! Most sencha I've found elsewhere has been OK but iffy quality, old/dry broken leaves, smokey flavor. Even my local asian market has top quality sencha that is not very fresh. The Sencha Premier from Adagio is brilliant green, full "needle" leaves, excellent aroma and a smooth full flavor. It costs more than I'd like to spend on something I like to drink every day, but I think the freshness makes a big difference in the taste and the nutritional value as well. If the price is not an issue, I highly recommend this tea.
★★★★★
Tastes and smells liked fresh mowed grass. I love that smell. The color of the infusion is yellow. And is almost the same taste/smell/color of infusion as the gyokuro on this site.

Very unique, I enjoyed it but I don't think I'll be buying more
