A pleasantly interesting Japanese green tea. Smells nutty and rice-y in the cup, tastes fresh and mellow, and is not smoky at all. I definitely get the edamame 'underbelly/undertaste' that some others describe -- it's almost a seaweed accent, really -- which sounds odd, sure, but I found it quite nice. This tea can be *easily* over-brewed into that dreaded 'bitter lettuce' green tea territory if you're not paying attention, so use only a two-minute, low-temperature steep for this one!

I really like this tea. I start my day with green tea and this has a nice clean flavor.

It did not have a terrible taste but it the flavor was not something I enjoyed.

Very grassy flavor - makes a nice change from other green teas that we have tried.

This tea is a lot like what you might get in a nice restaurant or tea house in Japan. Be careful not to over-steep, or it will get bitter.

Mainstay in out pantry. This tea has an aroma akin to evergreen and fresh cut hay with a pleasing note. This tea is great for anytime of the day.

Golden straw colored. Smells and tastes of edamame with nori.

This is a wonderful sencha - delicate, grassy, a bit sweet note. I'd like it to be of more concentrated flavor, but can always steep more leaves.

I'm a green tea virgin and this was my first. While warm, it was pretty good but as it cooled, it became flat and more astringent. Perhaps it was by temperature or steep length. Definitely get the edamame but not yet my cup of tea.

This tea is great and worth the money. It is a very flavorful Sencha and it seems impossible to make a bad or bitter cup of tea.
★★★★★
Typical sencha leafy taste. Difference between overture and premier is nominal.
★★★☆☆
Slightly bitter, very grassy notes. With enough sugar (ie: a LOT), it's very smooth. I like it, but it's not particularly a favorite.

I love the first flush of Spring, including the vibrant green of the leaves to the sweet and vegetal taste this blend has. Although I prefer the beautiful green sweetness of the Gyokuro, Sencha Premier comes in at a close second, only because it is less green and a little heavier in body.
This October I chose to pick up another bag of the tea and it is amazing. Maybe this year's flush came out better overall than the previous year. It seems to taste fresher, even as it is fall already.

Reminds me of the tea that I had in Japan, great stuff! Although i'll stick with the prices from the overture from here on.

The Sencha Premier green tea had a nice taste overall, although I really find the flavors to be kind of weak in a way.Remember, reviews are not always the same for everyone's taste. I find this tea to be ok.

I love a good grassy green tea. The japanese varieties that Adagio offers are no exception. Watch your temps and times though! They get bitter SO fast. Good for multiple infusions.

I love this tea so much! I drink it daily, sometimes adding a bit of lemongrass and mint.

This definitely a green tea! I am personally not a huge fan of earthy teas, but this was a calm and relaxing green tea. It makes you feel healthy and amazing afterwards!

A very good tasty green tea. Not too much of a grassy flavor, just the right amount for my taste. Price is kinda high so I prefer the overture one. It is a very good tea none the less

Very enjoyable sencha. Great both hot and iced. I made my iced using a cold-brew infusion.

This is the green tea to look for, unfortunately last time I ordered it was mostly gone.

Always a good tea to have around. Just don't over brew it.

I like Japanese green teas, this wasn't the biggest standout, but it is good.

While I can definitely see how a lot of green tea enthusiasts would love this tea, it just wasn't for me. It's very grassy and almost 'buttery.' The mouth-feel is a bit cloying for me. A friend of mine LOVES this tea, but I personally just prefer my greens crisper and smokier.

Really enjoyed this sencha--very nice, grassy flavor. I enjoyed the sencha overture just as much though, so I will probably stick with that since it is less expensive. I didn't notice anything 'more' about this sencha premier, although it is very good.

My husband really likes this green tea - I find it to be a little too grassy for my taste, but definitely a high quality green.

I enjoyed this tea very much. True tothe description of flavor, but a bit pricey for everyday.

I liked the sencha overture so much that I decided to upgrade and try this sencha premier. It's very nice but I've found that for me the overture is preferable. This premier is light and delicate, not as deeply green and bold as the overture. This is a really nice green tea for newcomers.

no matter the temp or steep time for me, this just tasted like seaweed. ]. I'm typically an oolong drinker, so maybe it's just me but i couldn't handle the almost fishy quality this had.

Super grassy tasting, and I normally like grassy green teas. I agree with the description that it tastes like edamame.

As a lover of Sencha I really enjoyed this sample. Would order again.

This is another great tea with a more assertive flavor but also quite refined. The flavor is also somewhat complex and it better when it begins to cool down a little.
★★★★★
Be very careful to not brew this too hot. I noticed that even being off by 10 degrees it will cause it to taste like rubber. I even erred on the cold side and brewed it at 160 and it tasted great. I definitely recommend it as a smooth tasty green tea.

There is actually a very big difference in taste between the Premier and Overture (and Shizuoka master's too). I was pretty surprised to find that this one ended up being a good deal lighter and more delicate. I still liked it a lot, but I prefer the darker taste of the Sencha Overture. That, and this is 2x more expensive.

This tea looks and smells beautiful out of the bag. A deep green color and a sweet, leafy smell. Brewed, it came out beautifully. Nice, grassy, and sweet.

This is the GOOD stuff when it comes to green tea. Great traditional green tea taste. I little dry, a little sweet, nice grassy flavor with a very subtle dandelion finish. I like it both hot and cold.

I love this sencha! It is a very forgiving tea. It has a more flexible range of brewing temps and times than for other delicate teas. It is light and buttery and a bit savory. If you're thinking about buying gyokuro and have never tried sencha, try this one first!

This tastes a lot like genmaicha minus the rice, if that makes any sense. Not quite as 'green' as gyokuro, but still a good cup of tea.

AS expectation from Japanese green tea. Nice and gentle smell.

Impresively better than Sencha Overture, this is a much bolder, crisper, cleaner brew. A fair temperature draws this tea into a jade masterpiece.

This is a good sencha that's heartier and more brisk than other senchas despite its low steeping temp. I'll probably experiment with temp and time later on though.
