WOW, I am an avid green tea drinker. I got this wonderful tea as a sample and am amazed at how delicious it is. I will definitely be purchasing a bag in the future. In fact this tea may very well be my future green tea!!
Green tea from Jiangsu, China. Made from the finest tender buds, hand-plucked and rolled. Perfumy and sweet floral, with a full body and slightly earthy and savory quality. Lingering, aromatic finish and delicate floral-smoky note.

An excellent green tea with a very smooth, light taste.
This green tea, I drink almost every morning to start my day off. This tea is good way to get healthy 'energy' and not drinking for example coffee to get me going. At first, it took me some time to get use to the taste, but now I'm really grow to like it now.
Echoing others' comments about this having a smoky flavour, but it's also very sweet and delicate. The scent is subtly smoky as well, something I quite like. I'm never too sure how much to use when instructions call for a 'heaping' teaspoon, so my pot definitely makes for a light cup, but on a hot summer day when I want something to help keep me awake, a light green is exactly what I want. Next time I place an order from Adagio I'll definitely be getting more of this.
A little grassy but very nice and earthy. Be sure not to steep too long as it does start to taste bitter.
A good tea but not great. It's smooth and not at all bitter, making it quite drinkable. But I was hoping for more of a floral or smokey flavor like the description says, but I ended up getting subtle vegetal flavors which are not really my cup of tea.
Good tea, nothing stood out as excellent, but was definately a pleasant cup
A very good green tea. Strong flavors but I tend to prefer my greens that way. It also did not have that bitter taste that some stronger greens have. I liked it and look forward to comparing it to the tai lake pi lo chun before deciding which to place a larger order on.
Light, smooth, and very easy on the tongue. On the third steeping, there was still no bitterness. This was a very clean green to me, more mild than some may like but exquisite to my taste. I will order more as soon as the loose-leaf is restocked.
Brews up nicely. Smells slightly floral pre steep. When you steep the aroma turns to slightly vegetal. I was pleased when I tasted it the vegetal flavor was not there. Its definitely a green tea by taste, on the side of an greenish oolong with more green in it. Hard to describe. Rounded sweetness to the overall cup.
Received this as a sample, and just made a cup, followed directions, but as a black tea drinker, this one was a little weak, I do like green tea, but usually mix with fruit teas and ice!
This is a very light, delicate green. I kept trying to get more out of this tea: I could sense that there was more there, but maybe this tea loses freshness quicker than some. I found the Jade Snail similar in flavor, but brighter (slightly) in taste, perhaps because it is rolled.
Another great one. This one I like steeping a little less than normal.
This was my go-to morning tea for about two weeks -- that's how long it took for me to kill the bag. (The 'regular' size one, as opposed to the teeny, tiny sample or nuclear lockdown supply.) Good complexity, but easy to drink, and I never found it to be at all bitter.
A little bit bitter, but decent. I tend to prefer my green teas unsweetened but I enjoyed this one with just a little bit of sugar.
My favorite green tea from adagio and my second favorite green tea after dragonwell. I infuse this tea with the ingenuiTEA lid open as the farmer recommends. I enjoy smelling it in the bag. It doesn't have a sweet taste as the dragonwell.
Very nice mild green, will definately be buying more of this one. Great delicate after work tea.
I brewed and drank this tea out of my large gaiwan Chinese “glass brewing style”. A fairly good green tea overall with a slight floral grassy taste to it but somewhat flat at the same time. I’d say this tea falls into the good enough to finish what I have but not good enough to buy more when I do category, but then again I tend to enjoy more flavorful and fruity tasting green teas.
Love it! Pi lo Chun is a wonderful yet mystical tea that took me a while to review. The liquor has a light jade-olive color to it, a lightly smokey yet sweet flowery smell, and has a taste all of its own. This unique taste is hard to describe butt ill do my best. The tea greets the palate with a gentle smokey taste, then as it passes over the tongue, its floral notes come to life. The finish leaves a sweet, floral taste on the palate that is unique and very enjoyable. The Floral and smokey notes are both undertone flavors separately, but when combined in this manner, its what makes this tea have its unique taste and aroma, enjoy!
Mild green tea with nice floral notes. Easy to drink. Not my favorite but very good.
Its a good tea, not too nutty for an oolong which I like.
Nice everyday green tea. Pretty mild in flavor, but mild on the wallet as well.
This is a nice tasting green, not too bitter or earthy.
With a very light green color, this tea shapes up to be nice palate cleanser. The flavor is earthy, but remains refreshing rather than muddy or bitter. A hint of an herbaceous taste comes out as the tea cools. This is a good afternoon or evening tea, especially after a meal.
Very subtle fruity flavors and a nice calming tea!
I've found a new favorite! I love the full and almost savory flavor. Turns very bitter very quickly if oversteeped, so be sure not to go any longer than 2 minutes.
This tea has a vegetal taste after brewing, and it finishes off with that smooth and smokey aroma. I accidentally brewed this longer than the recommended time (over 3 min.), but I didn't think the slightly bitter taste ruined the taste for me.
I like this tea. I feel like this is not the best one for the price, but it is still good.
The tea begins with a nice smooth flavor, however the longer you drink it the more bitter the flavor becomes. That being said, this is not a tea that should be consumed over a long period of time. The longer it sits the more bitter it becomes. Overall I have been pleased with the quality of the product and would recommend it this Pi Lo Chun tea to any tea drinker. Great morning brew!
A little bit bitter with a nice lite toasty taste.
I am surprised that one thing wasn't mentioned in the description or any of the reviews I read, this tea smell and tastes like apricots. And I don't mean this to sound posh and pretentious, there are other teas that I have noted 'cocoa notes' or something like that, but this tea is overtly apricots. That being said, I love it. Very very good.
I've heard that this is the best green tea, and it was indeed one of the best I've had a chance to try, as well as being a great value for the price.
Although i expected this to be a bit underwhelming, it turned out to be quite 'charming' and full of flavor. Dont bother with the sample, feel free to buy a bigger bag :) Cheers
An excellent tea :] One of my new favorites. A nice flavor and a beautiful colored liquor. I enjoyed this tea very much.
A nice substitute for the green pekoe in my opinion - the two are remarkably similar in flavor although I do prefer the mildness of the latter.
This really blew my mind. I adored this very very very very much. I brewed a pot and put it my thermos and took to work and it made my morning. Floral and smooth and gorgeous!
I really did not like this tea. Smelling it in the bag, it smells OK. Not good, but not horrible. Once it was in the pot and the water was poured in - I knew I was in for trouble. 'This tea is going to be awful,' I told my husband, when I poured him a cup.
He said, 'Y' know, a friend once told me a story of a green tea he had. He said, 'y' know how urinal cakes smell? Well, this is how this tea tastes.' And now I know what he meant.' Definitely not kind words for this tea, but my sentiments exactly.
It's very unfortunate, as I do love green teas.
To me this seems like a mix of white monkey and Jasmine 12-which is fine bc it is so good! It is light yet has a wonderfule taste. This was a great addition to Adagio Tea.
Yum! I enjoy this full flavored green tea that has subtle floral tones.
I received this as a free sample, but it was far too light and bland, personally.
this tea contained a high degree fine particles which translated to a lot of particles in the final cup. lightly smoky yet fresh and clean. the fine particulate matter was a distraction.
One of my favorite green teas. It has a very delicate favor, which is perfect for beginners.
Overall - 7.5 out of 10 - It's a good tea, one that I order from time to time.
Aroma 7 out of 10 - If I had only one word to describe it I would say Toasty. It gives you an idea of the flavor your in for but it doesn't leave a mark.
Flavor 8 out of 10 - I like the floral quality. It reminds me green tea mixed with othmanthus flowers.
After Taste - 5 out of 10 - What can I say, it's bitter. Tannin central. I've tried brewing at a lower temperature but it's still bitter.
This is okay-just good pi lo. It's got the medium smokey part down- but is missing the 'sweet'. Fantastic pi lo is smokey and sweet- almost like pipe smoke, so this misses the mark for me.
Tastes very similar Lung Ching with a slight acetic bite. I've found that steeping it at a slightly lower temperature with a little bit more tea reduces this considerably.
Not a bad green. However, can get bitter easily. I would not go over three minutes and make sure to keep the water on the cooler side.
This tea is not really vegetal, which I like. To me, the taste seems somewhere between a green and white tea.
This is a pretty decent tea for the money... I would buy it again. Not too bitter and not too much sediment.
When brewed for more than 2 minutes the grassy flavor of this tea becomes overwhelming, and it is almost undrinkable. If one is very strict with the timing the flavor is acceptable, but still not a tea I plan on ordering again.
Enjoyed the balance of sweet and earthy. Wish it wasn't quite so light.
