This has always been a favorite for me i love the toasty flavor of the rice paired with the grassy matcha

Love the toasted nuttiness and the extra something of the matcha.

This tea is slightly nutty with the traditional mate grassy flavor

This is one the only tea I have not liked. Kind of tastes like burnt toast water. Maybe this is a tea you hate or love.

My favorite tea! The matcha is very clean, and the toasted rice gives it such a mellow nutty flavor

Definitely one of my most favorite green teas. The smell is so rich and flavorful, and so is the taste! Very smooth!

★★★★★

This is delicious; I don't know if I like this one or the regular genmaicha better. I'll reach for this if I want the extra kick of caffeine I imagine coating it in matcha gives. It has a thick, almost oily umami mouthfeel, and is green in color, scent, and taste. Roasty toasty goodness and perfect for snowy winter days. This will warm your soul as well as your tummy! :)

Phenomenal tea! Beautiful flavors, I can’t recommend it highly enough

My husband wanted to try this one and he really likes it. I prefer plain matcha to this, but I was pleasantly surprised at the flavor.

Was curious what 'genmaicha' tasted like so tried it, and found out that genmaicha is 'not my cup of tea!' It tastes exactly like puffed brown rice cereal if you've ever had that (not rice krispies, a stronger flavor than that), and I did not care for it personally.

★★★★★

Everything you liked about normal genmaicha, but with matcha. The matcha really enhances the umami and vegetal qualities in a satisfying way.

CommuniTEA portion: 180 for 2 minutes. Absolutely love this tea. I'm a big genmaicha fan and the matcha takes it next level green yummy!

I want to love this tea, I really do but for some reason it's like drinking old rice Krispy water, it's so fun, but just not for me.

This is a tea not for me I don’t like grassy teas. ☕️🫖

I love the toasted rice flavor and the savory vegetal flavor that you get from this tea. I'm unsure if the matcha added any additional flavors but I do believe it enhances the health benefits with a boost in nutrients and antioxidants which is great! I've never really explored matcha before but I may have to give more a try.

I have a sample of this that I got during a promo. I never tried it until today. Interesting to the the matcha to the mix. Although I am not a huge fan of toasty flavors, this one seems to work. Maybe a little less toasty and I would enjoy it a bit more.

I very much enjoy this tea. The toasty flavor of the rice is very pleasant.

A comfy toasty cup of tea. More of a savory, but enjoyed it. I've enjoyed reading the stories Adagio has on adding puffed rice to tea.

Love how well these 2 teas work together. The matcha enhanced the green flavor of the tea while the roasty, toasty flavors of the genmaicha shined through. Delish!

Rice and matcha. An interesting combination, but definitely still tasty!

I am not a big green tea or matcha fan and this was not to my taste at all. I am sure for those matcha lovers it was good just not me. It only got finished because it was all I had until I was through airport security. CT 10/18/2023.

This was not the tea for me. To grassy and ricey. Not too good.

A different and unique taste. It was a bit grassy when first sipping it warm. After leaving it for awhile I sipped it at room temperature and was delighted at the taste.

Since taste is so subjective I hesitate to write this honest review. I really wanted to like this tea, it smelled grassy yet pleasant prior to steeping. After steeping, again my apologies, it smelled like burnt rice. I struggled to take a sip. Fortunately, the smell didn’t translate to the primary taste. Could not enjoy due to smell being such an integral sense to taste.

a nice, light, subtlely matcha... with incredible blend of genmaicha with it, swirling around great toasted flavors.

A wonderfully naturally caffinated cup that I'm grateful I made before taking parents to the airport... because I forgot my coffee in the morning chaos. Insulated mug of tea to the rescue!

Unusual and delicious tea. I love the toasted and popped rice mixed in! Appearance aside, it is tasty. Toasty, savory and green in flavor. I like the added matcha, too. Would be a nice green tea to enjoy with a meal.

The regular Genmaicha is one of my go-to teas, so this one is an easy 5*. I personally like the toastiness of the rice to stand out a bit more over the green tea, so the regular Genmaicha will still be my go to, but this is a great option if you prefer it a bit more grassy. I added a bit of sugar.

Wonderful combination of teas. I really enjoyed this one. It has a smooth matcha flavor but also really tasty, nutty, roasted tastes.

It smells like Rice Krispies cereal. I shouldn't find this appealing, but it really does work. A nice toasty & unique flavor.

A unique tea! Adagio has open my horizons to the many many varieties that are out there. This tea is toasty, soothing, earthy and cozy!

Very interesting blend! And oddly enough, I do volunteer work with prairie restoration, and this sms very much like prairie dropseed in seed! The buttered popcorn-grassy sort of combo is bright and now will be a good tea for me to enjoy when the prairies are cold and crunchy.

A great tasting green tea! It's a little toasty. It wasn't bitter or grassy tasting. I brewed this at 160F for about 1 minute.

I like the addition of matcha, not to strong. I love the popcorn and rice puffs in a sencha base, it = calming and comforting.

I open my communiTEA package and it was the must fun looking green tea/matcha I ever have. I looked like it had mini rice-crispy cereal and popcorn :). I brews to a pretty green color and it has a complex flavor, it has the nutty flavor of the roasted rice, earthy, but at the same time it is soft and light. It is delicious tea without a doubt.

I did not expect to like todays tea. I’m not big on green tea, I’d tried genmaicha teas before and didn’t like them. But this is toasty and smooth, vegetable with out being grassy. Very glad I decided to try todays tea! What a pleasant surprise and great fall tea.

I'm giving 3 stars because the quality of the tea appears to be of a good grade. However, I do not like grassy teas. Too many reviews proclaim its grassy flavor, therefore I'm skipping this one. My review would likely be less favorable if I were to sip it.

I just don't like it. Genmaicha always tastes like burned popcorn and rice krispies to me, even with steeping at a lower temperature. Sweetener helped mask the grassiness of the green tea, but nothing could cover that awful burnt taste. Steeped 2 min @ 175º.

I like matcha and genmai cha... why not both? They work well together and taste toasty and green, fun tea!

To me, the flavor of the Sencha and matcha teas are completely overwhelmed by the puffed rice to the point that all I could taste was the toasty flavor of the rice. This is not a tea for me. 😥

I love when I get samples in the CommuniTEA box that are teas that I wouldn't ever choose, but now get to try them.

This one doesn't taste how I guessed it would. As others have mentioned, it's not too matcha-ey. I probably wouldn't have known there was matcha in there if it weren't for the green powder left on the sides of the packet.

It's grassy, but a different kind of grassy than I'd use to describe matcha. Much less earthy. Sort of a clean grass, whatever that means. And with the toasted rice flavor, this tastes like a rice cake, with a slight 'clean grassy' undertone. That might sound like an odd flavor, but it doesn't taste odd, it really works!

Brewed by bringing water to a boil then letting it sit for about 2-3 minutes before pouring. No sweetener was needed today.

This tea is simply delicious! I like it even more than the regular genmaicha, which I find to be too sesame oil forward. This brew has the roasty notes I like in a genmaicha in the right proportion; it’s a much softer expression. I’m a huge fan of vegetal greens and adding the “popcorn” notes just adds another layer of yum. This is a serene cup meant for slow sipping. Sit back and enjoy! Happy Sipping!

I love genmaicha; but not matcha.
However, the combination of the two
is getting a big thumbs up! The matcha doesn't get in the way of the popcorn flavor; nor does it add any grassiness to the blend. Smooth and healthy, what tea should be!

Matcha is just not my cup of tea. It’s too toasty. I wish I liked it because it’s so healthy.
