I love regular genmaicha, but the match adds an even greater depth of flavoring. I will definetly be ordering more of this tea!

★★★★★

My favorite tea of all time. It’s earthy, grassy, and toasty. The Matcha powder makes it the perfect afternoon pick me up.

★★★★★

This is one of my favorites. It's nutty from the rice with a smooth matcha flavor. It's lovely when I need something that feels a little more savory.

This has become a daily staple for me right after work. It's a calming caffeine boost to help me rally after a long day.

Really interesting, almost popcorn-y flavor. As someone new to green teas, I was very surprised to get this sort of flavor out of it. Oddly addicting!

★☆☆☆☆

Terrible taste compared to their previous batches. Returns and exchanges require me to pay for postage.

★★★★★

Very nice tea with a subtle balanced blend of sweet, grassy, earthy notes with a rich umami flavor. unlike some traditional green teas.

★★★★★

It's tasty with a nice grassy flavor. I liked Rishi's matcha genmaicha a little better, but this is also more affordable.

★★★★☆

I love genmaicha and I’ve never had matcha. It doesn’t taste too different from the original. I recommend if you like matcha and genmaicha.

★★★★★

An upscale version of the standard Genmaicha offered by Adagio. Higher quality green containing matcha. My go-to genmaicha offered across the internet.

I loved this! It's the perfect balance, if you're not a regular matcha drinker. This may be my new favorite green tea.

One of my favorite teas of all time. It's green, savory, and filling. Mildly sweet toasted popcorn aroma. I've tried a lot of different teas but this is the one I always come back to.

Toasty, earthy and delicious! Still refreshing hot even in the middle of summer. Really enjoy this in the evenings.

The matcha gives a little more power to the genmaicha and that's an awesome thing. Brighter colors more caffeine, more flavor. I love this one.

★★★☆☆

This looks a lot like uncarbonated Mountain Dew, with maybe a more nuclear tint of green. But there’s a sweetness that regular genmaicha does not present.

★★★★★

I'm really enjoying this variation on genmaicha. I love plain genmaicha as kind of a savory comfort tea with that pleasant balance between the slightly astringent freshness of the sencha and the toasty coziness of the rice. The matcha genmaicha has the same flavor sitch, but *plus* a little oomph of fresh flavor, vibrant color, health benefits and caffeine of matcha. I think I might like this even more than plain genmaicha. I like all unflavored green teas unsweetened. 2 mins @ 185º.

I really like the toasty popcorn-like taste to this tea and the matcha makes it a little more special. However, there is a little too much matcha in this for my liking and makes the tea taste a little flat.

Very disappointing. No flavor. I brewed it twice as long the second time and it still tasted like green hot water.

★★★☆☆

This is definitely unique. I love matcha and I love Genmaicha because of the toasted rice. I can't pinpoint the flavor I'm not fond of. The tea is just okay. I prefer the Genmaicha without the Matcha.

Matcha with the toasted rice touch? I love it so much

Wow - Popcorny, malty, toasty, and delicate. This is a standout matcha. Something about the grassy, nearly-savory herbaceousness of the matcha & sencha mixing with the warm and nutty roasted rice creates a tea reminiscent, almost, of spanakopita, if it were kissed by the ocean (and without feta lol). I love a savory tea, and this really meets the mark. This is more than worth trying, and I bet it'd even be fun to bake with - Maybe that's the next project.

Did not like this one, never had a match tea before maybe its just not my kind if tea.

My favorite tea of all time. I've tried so many different brands of both classic genmaicha and with the matcha added to it. This one is hands down the best for the price.

I truly did not like the flavor of this at all. I actually wound up throwing the rest of the package away after brewing 2 separate cups exactly as explained to. The flavor was earthy but very dirty tasting, and in no appealing way at all. It tasted like sweaty arm pit sweat. I was very disappointed

★★★★★

I personally enjoyed this tea, the genmaicha gave it a nutty flavor and help disguise the matcha grass taste

★★★★★

This is our go-to green tea. The matcha adds a little extra flavor, but the toastiness of the genmaicha still comes through! Perfect for any weather.

★★★★★

So green and toasty. I don't know why rice makes for such good tea, but it does

★★★☆☆

Adagio's Matcha Genmaicha is a savory blend that perfectly balances the earthy richness of matcha with the nutty warmth of roasted rice. The flavor profile is comforting yet complex, offering a toasty aroma and a creamy, umami finish that lingers pleasantly.

Personally, I much prefer sweeter, floral green teas, however, it's an ideal choice for those who enjoy savory rather than floral green tea with depth and character, making it a versatile option for a relaxing afternoon or a meal accompaniment.

A taste of summer— specifically that summer day when the lawn mower blows grass clippings into your mouth.

1/3/25: I've come to enjoy matcha genmaicha even more and upgraded to 5 stars. No popped grains in my packet today. I tapped as much of the matcha powder left in the packet on top of my cup after it steeped. I also ended up with a green fingertip trying to get the rest out. 2 min @ 160, 2nd steep wasn't timed and also good to me.
10/18/23: Bright green matcha dust coated the inside of the packet and all the ingredients. I have toasted rice and a few popped grains. I find it to be a pretty contrast to the bright green tea leaves. The smell is very green tea with toasted grain. 2 min @ 160 produced a clear, pale green brew. I could see how it smells like popcorn to some, but I didn't get any burnt aroma. Very smooth and clean green tea flavor. Second steep 3 min @ 160 was similar shade and less of the toasted grain aroma. I enjoy green tea so this is good to me. I'd definitely drink it again.

I like this one. I don’t drink a lot of matcha tea but I liked this one. It was not loudly grassy but it had that fresh vegetal taste and kinda toasty. Might find I like green teas like this.

Normally I don't like green tea, but I steeped this one for 90 seconds at 180F and it was lovely. Toasty, rich, yet soothing and not overly grassy or vegetal.

It's not the worst tea, but I have a hard time getting over that it tastes like popcorn. Lol.

Full disclosure: I have not tasted this tea, but given its description as a grassy, vegetal tasting matcha I'm inclined to believe that I would not enjoy this tea. If ever I should get the opportunity to try this one in the future, I'll be sure to update this review.

Jan 25: this time I really tried to do the lower temperature and only 2 min steep... and I taste nothing. :) I'l steep it longer.

I really love this tea, especially because I needed a gentle ‘moderate caffeine’ boost in this moment, but also because I love love genmaicha and am nuts about the toasted rice flavor. Don’t taste matcha very much which I don’t mind; it’s more like there’s another layer that amps up the rice tea.

I love this one! I tried Genmaicha once, years ago on a whim (different brand) and fell in love with it. I love its unique toasty flavor. If you have never had genmaicha before, it tastes like popcorn without any butter or sugar...but in a tea. It might sounds gross, but I love it with a little stevia. This matcha genmaicha is very good...I'm not a big matcha expert, so I can't give any real feedback on the matcha itself. I can say that the few experiences I've had with matcha have been extremely grainy, texture wise, and very vegetal...this has none of that. Just maybe a slight more green tasting genmaicha. If you like genmaicha, you'll like this. If you aren't sure if you like genmaicha and are scared of the matcha, don't be. If you do not like green tea at all, then I suppose this one is not for you, although I'm a big believer in trying everything once, because you just never know when you might like something. I always thought the idea of cornbread pudding sounded disgusting until I tried some so as to not offend my coworker...and lo and behold, I really liked it! Moral of the story is...you just never know with tea, and that's what makes it so awesome. =) Now if only I can get my husband to agree with me...=(

Communitea sample: 2 min @ 180, I got 3 infusions out of the leaves, with the third being for three minutes instead of two. Warm, sweet and savory toasty rice flavors really bring out a lot of the natural sweetness within green tea. Genmaicha is great for that, and you get some natural toastiness from the green tea too. The matcha helps to bring out some of the greener and grassier elements from the sencha. A very warm, inviting tea, that reminds me of popcorn and rice, has some nutty sweetness and overall is warm and relaxing to drink!

It's good, by virtue of a genmaicha, but the matcha powder doesn't incorporate the way it would when whisking matcha powder on its own. It adds a bitter flavor that isn't complementary to genmaicha -- just get normal genmaicha!

★★★★★

A nice full roast. The Genmaicha brings in a nice nuttiness which the matcha matches with undertones on pleasant grassy notes.

Excellent taste and aroma love the taste of toasted rice. The tea doesn't seem to be as hard on me despite the caffeine

We sampled some matcha in the store and then my daughter had to have it. We have about 4-5 kinds of matcha at home but this is the overall family favorite. Tastes fresh and smooth.

★★★★☆

I really enjoy this tea. Of course, born of necessity, it has stuck around because it's so unique. There's really nothing else like it. The popped rice helps to mellow out the very strong Matcha, and brewed cold, it's very light and refreshing.

This is a more affordable (lol) way to get some matcha flavor, along with a fun nutty/almost popcorn flavor from the popped rice kernels in the genmaicha!

Did you ever burn a dish and feel kind of bad and you try not to waste it, and you take a few bites and it's like the BEST DISH EVER. Something about the char and the other flavors and it just hits, it slaps, it just slays your senses! The toasted rice in this tea, slaps! The matcha hits notes your tastebuddies have only heard about through youtube! One sip of this tea and you're toast-ed to perfection!

This was really not as good as I was expecting. It had an underlying sweet taste that was unexpected in an unflavored tea, and very odd. It was subtle, but I have never noticed an undertaste like this in a natural, unspiced tea. I have to say I didn't like it.

★★★★★

i love genmachia. and add match to the equation i really loved it. if you like toasted rice this tea is for you

★★★★★

This tea has a toasted taste due to the toasted rice--it really is a wonderful flavor especially for those who do not really enjoy matcha powder

★★★★★

This tea was toasty, nutty and a bit of a green tea flavor that crept out. It's an absolute delight.
