The flavor of this beautifully leafed green tea is somewhere between a gunpowder and a bi lo chun. A little smoky, but floral and sweet, and definitely smooth. The texture is a little mouth-filling, which I really enjoy. Yep, this one's a winner.
The tightly rolled fuzzy buds unfurl to deliver intricate notes of roasted nuts, soft smokiness, and a hop-like crispness. Delicate yet bold.

A really great green tea. Lighter than Gunpowder, and the flavors mix a little better in my opinion. It definitely has a crisp, fresh, tangy edge to it that I find lacking in many green teas.
Green tea and I have a love hate relationship. Im not a fan of really vegetable-y and astringent greens. but jade was both typical green, and smooth and slightly floral. i really enjoy it!
Not as good as I remember when I tried it two years ago. Before it was light, but a little smokey. Now it is smokey, but kind of darker, and not very green. Not a distinct taste.
this one reminds me a lot of kukicha and pi lo chun.. great for beginners that are scared of the really grassy vegetable greens.
Oh man, I love the way this smells, I love the way it tastes. YESSSS.
Wow. I had been waiting for this one to come back in stock, and it was worth the wait. Will be getting more. Complex and delicate, but full flavored. Slightly grassy aroma that doesn't quite carry through to the steeping. The leaves are quite large.
Similar in taste to Pi Lo Chun, but slightly stronger. Overall, this is a light, delicately floral green. Don't skimp on leaf or it may be too mild.
Despite its color, Jade Snail had more flavor than I thought. What's more fun than drinking the tea is to watch the tea leaves unfold from their shapes.
Wished of a more flavorful cup. Even after additional steep time I couldn't get more flavor extracted. Not my favorite and I don't plan on buying more.
Definately a very mild and delicate tea. It was enjoyable, just a hint of grassiness/vegetal taste to it. I will be brewing up the rest of my sample, but overall this tea is too delicate to me.
a nice mild grassy sweetness, but it doesnt hold up to 3 steeps the third steep is just hot water
A green tea that doesn't taste grassy to me! This was surprisingly good (for a non-green tea drinker) with a bit of a nutty taste and lots of depth of flavour.
I am very happy with the taste of this tea relative to its price. I brewed it for much longer than recommended and it did not lose its uniqueness. Very pleasant aroma and after taste. Great without additions. Will buy again and add a simple syrup or mint syrup.
Great tea, smooth and mellow. Very light with a little grassy taste.
Lovely, smooth balanced green tea. If you just want a straight green, you can't go much further than this. Wish it was a bit stronger though.
Another green that just didn't quite match up to my tastes. The initial grassy flavor was just a little too strong for me to get by, so I need pretty weak steeps to enjoy it.
This is a really great tea! It brews with a full flavor and very smooth. I am a big fan of gunpowder type teas and this is my favorite so far.
One of my favorite green teas - I love watching the leaves unravel, it's so soothing. It has a nice grassy taste to it, much like anhui emerald seed, but more body.
Good tasting, but, usually have to mix with one of my go to teas, citron. Great smell and nice, fuzzy, tight rolled leaves open up nicely. That last sentence just sounded wrong.
This reminds me more of a white tea than a green. It’s very light delicate. A 3 minute steep yields a pale yellow liquor with very mild vegetal tones and a fruity/nuttiness that comes through and dances on your pallet towards the finish. Overall, a good tea and very nicely priced. For me personally, it is too delicate. I generally like bolder flavors. But if you like delicate teas, you’ll love this one. Good for multiple infusions as well.
The earthy and nutty flavor makes this one of the richest green teas available. At one point, I drank several cups of this every single day. I like to chew on the leaves after they unfurl in my cup.
Very light for a green tea, I was not expecting it. You have to be careful not to overbrew it. Still a refreshing tea.
ummmm good for trying different kind of green tea.
It was pretty good. Not the best, not the worst. I'll probably go with something else in the future.
This green tea is a bit too mild for me. It is really beautiful tea, but I like my tea to taste a bit stronger.
This tea is my first favorite. Definitely a good blend.
It tastes a bit over-vegetal, but it could be over-brewed.
This tea was completely forgettable, which means it was neither extremely good or extremely bad.
perhaps one of the finest green teas. loved the light smokiness with very crisp finish. second steep is almost as bold as first and brings out a roasted nut-like characteristic
Watching the snail shells unravel as the tea steeps really adds to the experience of this tea. Taste is good: smooth and light, but flavorful.
One of the best greens I've ever had. Very crisp, toasty, but also vegatal. This tea is very bold, and I have found that by adding a little more than a level tea spoon (like 1 and a half teasp) that this tea will brew to a deeper gold.. Overall an amazing tea.
Good green tea. I would get this again if I didn't prefer jasmine tea. The leaves are pretty when they unravel. Just remember not to use boiling water. I also found if it steeps too long, it has a slight vegetable taste.
The unfold beatifully and create a nice light tea perfect for any weather
'Nothing of note here...move along.' Non-descript, boring...a waste of time and money. Oh, I forgot to mention...the leaves are wrapped into small balls which are quite pretty.
Hmm. Am I becoming a tea snob? Jade Snail is a pretty standard green tea that really shines at warmer temperatures. As the tea cools, it loses some of the texture/flavor of the first 1/2 of the cup. Perhaps I need to drink it faster...
Not sure there is a reorder for this one. I may keep looking in the greens to find one better suited to my tastes.
This is a very flavorful and grassy green tea. I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out because the smell and color of the tea was very light, but it is full of flavor. It is a little sweet, a little grassy, and very beautiful.
I did not like jade snail at all when I first got it. After trying it a few times I like it a little better but probably will not buy it again.
I like watching these cute fuzzy little tea leaves unfurl themselves in the hot water, and the tea itself tastes pretty good- not exceptional, but like good green tea.
Well, of course, part of the fun of getting this tea is watching the 'snails' unfurl. This is becoming one of my favorite green teas.
I am not too fond of green teas because they taste so light and watery, but this one is pretty tasty.
My Preference is the hojicha green tea this tea was a heavy caffeine hit per cup not bad flavor but the smell was a little off putting then what i was used to.
This tea has a good flavor, usually I'm not into green teas like this one as they taste too much like seaweed for my taste. Good for multiple infusions, of course
Very fun, a light, warm, somewhat vegetal green that made for a pleasing cup.
One of the better green teas I have had in a while! It smelled a lot like dragon well, yet the taste was so much more complex.
This is a nice, subtle green tea, but let's face it: The real reason to buy it is because of the shape. It's fun to watch my ingenuiTEA transform into an unkempt aquarium as the leaves unfurl (not the most appetizing image).
It's pretty good, but it's a little grassy for me. Definitely not bitter though and goes well with some sugar.
Really good green tea. Probably one of the better ones that I've tried.
I got this as part of a sampler - what a great buy! It's now become one of my favorite teas. I tend to find that I prefer Chinese greens to Japanese, but this is outstanding, even among just the Chinese greens.
Best tea on this website for the money, only a little more than gunpowder, much better tasting.
