Better than other gunpowder teas I have tried. More smoky, but still not too smoky by any means. It blends well with the low-key green flavor. I will order more of this, it is inexpensive and tasty.

This is some awesome tea! I wasn't sure about green tea until I tried this...I'm hooked now! I think this is my signature tea from now on!

Great roasty taste, crisp and flavorful. I love to have it at work when it's cold outside.

This great green tea gives you a little energy and tastes great! I can taste the smokey flavor, but it is not as strong as others described it to be. I would recommend brewing this tea a tad longer, about 3.5 to 4 minutes, instead of the recommended 5.

That's really smokey! I tried another variety of gunpowder, and it wasn't nearly as smokey. The flavor here is very well balanced however. You get some of the strong tea taste mixed in with the smokiness. They compliment each other quite well. Neither overpowers the other. I'm going to take one reviewer's advice and try mixing this with a 1/2 tsp of mint.

I got this primarily to mix with peppermint leaves to make a Moroccan mint tea, but it is good on its own as well. With the peppermint leaves (approx 1/2 teaspoon of peppermint and 1 teaspoon of gunpowder per cup), it is perfect. The flavor is not as subtle as some other green teas, so it might make a good introductory green tea to someone used to black tea.

Gunpowder is one of my favorite green teas, and this one was no exception. It's particularly fun to put in the infuser and watch the leaves expand.

Absolutely love this green tea, it may be a bit smokey for some but I love it-it lends to the tea being more pronounced. Am ordering more as I write this.

I wasn't terribly impressed with this tea. It tasted kind of 'flat' and boring, but it was good. I think it just wasn't my type. I'll try it some more in a few different ways to see if I can find a preparation that I can appreciate, but it's unlikely that it will make it as one of my favorites.

Easy to over do the gunpowder due to the density before it is soaked.

This is not the best gunpowder I have, but better than supermarket or health store varieties. Try not to oversteep it, and try mixing with mint to make it more refreshing.

A very interesting tea. It looks like a black tea and tastes good and unique.

I liked this tea mixed with other teas. Not so great on it's own.

A great gunpowder, however - it is a little hard to drink the whole pot - the smokiness gets to me.

Gunpowder is not my favorite green tea, but it is an easy tea for me to make at work. It stands up pretty well in a strainer cup without falling through the holes and such. I do not like the cloudiness of the gunpowder tea, and the smell is offensive to me. The taste is strong for green tea, not near as vegetable as I really like. I think that one has a tendency to make this tea too strong in my opinion, beware and use less than you think that you should.

Smoooooooky! A very deep and smoky flavor, somewhat nutty. Great following a heavy dinner along with dessert. Watching the leaves unfold from their original tight balls is entertaining and great to watch. Steeping it a second time unveils a new layer of flavor where the smokyness is reduced, but the tea flavor grows to a new pleasurable flavor.

I grew up drinking gunpowder, and normally it is, for me, what tea should taste like. This one was a bit too smoky for my taste, though. Not dreadful, just not my favorite.

Good green tea that's not at all grassy. It can be gritty if it's not filtered well enough. If it's mixed with peppermint, it makes a good mint green tea... basically a version of moroccan mint.

best green tea i've ever tasted. the perfect tea for anytime. just hits my taste buds right. i keep extra around in case you run out.

Gunpowder Pearl is my old standby. I don't know if my tastes are just maturing, but I don't like this gunpowder. It gets a very fishy taste very easily, and it doesn't have much of that smokey, nutty taste I enjoy so much.

I'll be trying the li zi xiang this time around, after this let down.

This has turned into one of my coworkers' favorite morning teas as it defintely picks us up and keeps us going.

I heard lots of rave reviews about this tea, but it didn't meet my strength standards. Too weak. Maybe I should put it in for longer than 3 minutes. I much prefer sencha premier or green anji as far as flavor goes.

Fragrant,flavorful, and well balanced. I really enjoy this tea. It's perfect for everyday.

Smokey and not grassy at all. I love greens but shy away from the grassier tastes, this one is darker and nice.

Great gunpowder tea, nice smoky flavor. Does have a fair amount of residue, however (but great nonetheless).

when they say this is the best, they were right. great taste with a lingering aftertaste. needs screened through a paper filter due to lots of residue.

Gunpowder is very hearty by itself. You can temper it by adding some peppermint to brew a traditional Moroccan tea.

This is a nice green tea. I love the little balls it comes in and they 'bloom' so beautiful when they're steeping. It's a nice light green tea, but with a little punch.

Recommended by a friend and am I glad I tried it. Nice to watch those little pellets unfurl as it steeps also. This was my first trial of green tea from your company and I keep going back to it.

We enjoy this mixed 'Moroccan Mint' style, iced...with some of Adagio's Spearmint, Peppermint, or both.

Makes a nice, strong morning brew. Has an interesting smoky flavor and a slight grassy aftertaste. Pleasant.

Excellent quality Gunpowder, this stuff is a staple so make sure you have some stocked.

You get what you pay for. A very basic daily cup for a very basic price. Nothing bad to say about it. Nothing remarkable to say either. Go with the cheaper of the two senchas instead. You're worth it baby.

This is my favorite (so far). It has a nice (but very subtle) smokey flavor and is better than other gunpowder teas that I've tried.
