I don't even know what to say besides smoke and ash... I almost wanted to cough whenever I took a sip... strange feeling - I couldn't finish it and it left a dark film on the inside of my cup... If you want a cup of smoke and ash, then this would probably be good.
Very green. The first time I mistakenly brewed it too hot and it was very grassy and bitter. The second time I brewed it at a lower temperature and it was lovely.
Tastes very good when mixed with the herbal peppermint tea.
Wonderful! I love the gunpowder tea. Slightly strong, with a full bodied flavor. Perfect on a cold winter night for some comfort.

I tried this out as a sample. Its a great tea with a smoky flavor. I prefer it hot. Its a great evening tea for me. One thing I really liked about this tea was that it doesnt turn bitter easily. I tend to make a whole pot & sip while studying..often 3-4 hrs by the time I take the las t sips..this tea really retains the flavor without becoming tart or bitter. Highly recommend this as a gift tea as well.
5 out of 10. With a 1/2 teasp of the peppermint it is much better, 7 out of 10. More similar to a black, slight smoky taste. The smoky taste is more similar to irish breakfast rather than the very smoky english breakfast (which I didn't like). This so far has been my favorite green tea. I like black teas myself. It does leave about 4x the residue in your cup.
Gunpowder is my favorite green tea. It is extremely forgiving in regards to steeping time and mixes very well with peppermint.

This tea is particularly fun to watch as the leaves unfurl. The tea itself is quite good but doesn't suit my taste as well as the fuller-bodied, smokier offerings.

This is a darker and more 'oolong-like' green tea. Wasn't sure I would like it as prefer the grassy green teas, but I was pleasantly surprised. Very nice change.

i love this tea. it's so earthy and it's got a little bit of a smoky bite to the flavor. the green tea is mild and floats gently on the full-bodied flavor reminiscent of gunsmoke. awesome. be careful not to over-brew as it gets very bitter very quickly.
The best green tea I've ever head. This one is very strong, so not the choice for those who like more mild flavor. Make sure not to oversteep it, as I've found this one easily turns bitter.
I had high hopes for this tea, but was quite disappointed. Tasted a lot like someone had put out about about a dozen cigarettes in my tea. I imagined I smelled cigarette smoke for the rest of the day.
Wonderfully strong earthy flavor. Took a while to aquire the taste to it. Since then its been my morning wake up tea. Hint: use 1/2 teaspoon per cup.
