I love the smokiness -- also, dropping little hard pellets of tea into my ingenuitea and watching them magically expand.

I wasn't fond of this one. Supposedly it's called gunpowder because of its pellet shape, but I think perhaps it's called that because it tasted very smoky. It was like drinking a campfire.

Although not the most unique or excessively flavorful tea, it is a solid tea on its own and makes an excellent mixer.

One of the best gunpowder green teas I have ever had.

my husband really enjoyed this tea. He is an irish breakfast drinker.

This is my second favorite green tea. A must have.

Lets talk for a second. I know the name gunpowerder sounds amazing, rustic and enjoyable. But in actuallity this tea is not amazing, rustic, or enjoyable. This tea compares to that of eating cut grass. No kidding, i did a taste test, i made some gunpowder, and some cut grass tea and people couldent tell the difference in blind taste tests. Thats how horrid this tea really is.

Absoluely my favorite green tea. It's wonderful and it works great when playing around with various other teas. I guess you could say it plays well with others.

Don't oversteep this! People have mentioned the ashtray taste, and oversteeping is probably the cause. The tiniest touch of peppermint, using a modest amount of 'gunpowder', and a short steep time are the best way to enjoy this tea.

I normally don't like green tea, but I love this one. It is nice and sweet, with out the after taste that normally acompanys green tea.

It tasted kind of like smoke and seaweed. Maybe if I hadn't brewed it the full three minutes, the seaweed wouldn't be as present. I'm not sure. In any case, it was okay, I'm glad I tried it, but I don't think I'll order a bigger tin. And I think I need to get some peppermint to help me finish the sample.

This is the only tea my husband and I both love! It's a great, hearty green tea.

This is a very interesting tea. It has a great green tea flavor and the hint of smokiness makes for a great drink.

This is one of my favorites. I call it tea for coffee drinkers as the smokey flavor reminds me of what I liked about coffee but lighter and without the poor aftertaste. It is different though and I think its a 'love it or hate it' kind of flavor.

I really don't know why but I get a headache from this tea. The smell is a bit nauseating.

A good staple green tea with a somewhat smoky taste. Interesting to try just for the shape of the leaves.

Bang-bang! No doubt a full bodied tea! Has a smokey essence that brings out the 'roar' in a lion!
If you're looking for something different, then look no further!

This wasn't my favorite. The flavor was a little too intense for my preference, and too bitter.

No grassy flavor at all. Unique flavor, but not overpowering.

This is a really nice smoky tea. I enjoy it mixed with peppermint and sugar for a Moroccan Mint Tea.

This is one of my favorite greens for the money. If you like really full bodied greens this is the green tea for you. Has a very strong, smokey flavor with no vegetable or grass overtones. I love this tea, but it's not for those that like a timid green tea. I give it an 8.5 out of 10.

If you're looking for a green tea with a little extra 'kick' to it, this is your tea. It much more robust than most greens and should please most people who prefer a heartier taste usually found in most black and oolong teas. I really dig this tea!

Smoky and bitter for the first sip and then turns sweet for the rest. Amazing.

I didnt like this tea at all. I thought it smelled like a yucky ashtray.

I didn't enjoy this tea. Maybe if I was a smoker. Tasted like drinking cigarette ash. Too smokey for my liking.

Simple green tea. Easy to measure. Bold and smoky. Tends to have more tea dust in last cup than the other greens.

Excellent tea. It has a wonderful depth and gentle smokeyness that a lot of greens do not have. Its heartier than most green tea blends and great for a cold afternoon.

Not bad- got the gunpowder sampler just to try it. Okay, but not for me.

i mix this with peppermint and it's really great. also great straight or mixed with darjeeling.

excellent. This tea is by far one of my favorites. I highly recommend it. It is very strong and smokey; I like it more as an afternoon tea than a relaxing end of the day tea.

I wasn't sure I would like this when I smelled it after it was steeped. It had a stale smoke smell. But I actually enjoyed it and wouldn't probably buy it again.

This is good mixed with peppermint to make morrocan mint!

I mixed it with some herbal peppermint and it was fantastic. Very refreshing.

I like the gunpowder's smoky flavor, alone, or with fresh mint. Not too strong, but mixes well.

We use this to mix with peppermint. I've tried it on it's own. It has a nice smoky flavor.

Smoky and green, what's not to like? If you only like bland green teas, this is not the tea for you. If you like flavor? You will love it. Plus, the tin makes such a great sound when you shake it!

I really love this tea- but there's a catch. When I first got it I HATED it. Then I learned that it is traditionally prepared with peppermint in Morocco- completely listed in the description, by the way. With just a hint of peppermint- I just put the tip of a regular spoon in- and some sugar, this is gorgeous. Great chilled, too!

At first, I brewed a terrible cup with a very strong smoky flavor. When I got better at brewing it, I found this to be an enjoyable green tea. Not my favorite, but a green tea to enjoy when I want something different.

Essential green tea, in my opinion. It's a little more stout than some of the lighter teas, but not strong or pungent at all. Try with some peppermint, or by itself.

It's an okay tea, same with the mix between peppermint and it either, but I'm not the mixing type. I could see myself ordering it again though.

My husband absolutely loves this- his favorite green. I think the smokiness overpowers the vegetal taste you get with some greens, so I liked it as well.

It's my cheapest and second favorite tea. I 'grew up' on gunpowder so I like the complex/smoky flavor. Lacks the bitter aftertaste of other gunpowder teas.
