Nice green tea. Has a very light smoky flavor. I enjoyed the taste greatly.

I expected the smokey taste and was looking forward to it. Upon stepping and smelling, I was reminded of smoke, but not a good campfire, barbeque, or even a nice cigar smoke. I was met with a cheap cigarette smell which turned me off. It didn't come through on the taste as much as the smell, but it was still there. All in all, I'm a little disappointed.

I used to go to a small cigar bar and there they served this amazing tea that I have not been able to find until now. In fact the reason I have started ordering from Adagio is that they carry this wounderful green tea. When steeped correctly it has a wounderful flavor that is most refreshing and makes a very good evening tea. It taste very good on its own and blends very well with a dab of honey for those with a sweet tooth.

Gunpowder is one of those teas I would hate to ever be without. It has the perfect amount of smokiness about it to remind me of sitting at the early morning campfire. It has a rich, smooth taste which goes down easy. And the pellet shape, how could you not love that?

Not impressed with the flavor, has a sort of burnt taste to it, but then I probably should have expected that with a name like gunpowder.

I absolutely love this smokey green tea. Not too smokey, not to green tea, but just the right blend. Very good green tea.

The shape of this tea is like it's name implies. The taste is nothing like gunpowder (of course!). Smooth and refreshing.

Mixed this with peppermint to create an excellent iced tea. This tea has much potential as a mixing tea.

Love it. The little pellets are so conveniant. You might want to use slightly hotter watter for this one to get the leaves to unwrap fully.

Excellent breakfast tea! It was not bitter at all, but full in flavor. It has a distinct smokiness that will be sure to wake me up every morning.

My favorite Green tea ever!! Mix this in with a mint leaf or 2 and you have an incrediable ice tea! Not too earthy tasting or grassy. Great starter green tea!

I only tried gunpowder once and did not like it very much. but this was very good. Not my favorite but nice tea.

I love the smokey taste, a very good green tea. I do prefer it mixed with the peppermint though, but that does not mean that it isn't a good stand alone tea.

I love gunpowder green and this is excellent. The quality is great. If you're looking for something new try adding a tsp or two of the peppermint herbal tea.

I don't particularly care for gunpowder on its own. It just average. However, with a bit of peppermint, it's quite good.

I *love* this tea. Although I usually drink it in a blend (check out my Minted Gunpowder blend for info), on it's own it is just as tasty.

It is smokey but not overwhelming. I have a tendancy to over steep, I have to get up and down a lot and leave the tea in the pot and most of them get horribly bitter: the gunpowder does not.

I also love this iced, especially in my mix. I take whatever is left in my morning pot and store it in the fridge then mix half of that with half of regular brewed iced tea. Mmmmm.

This has a great taste and no icky bitter aftertaste. Love!

From all the reviews I've read, people seem to fall into two categories: 'delightfully smoky' and 'liquid ashtray'. I fall into the latter; it's not a bad tea, but it's just not for me.

Great smokey green tea taste. If you like green tea, and lapsang souchong, you should like this.

This is good with a small amount of peppermint. Not too much though! It is easily overwhelmed by the mint.

This is fairly good and smells very green, nutty and fresh but not very strongly. It has a smooth taste and would also make a very great everyday green tea.

I drink this tea first thing in the morning (if I think I can handle it). It has a smokey, but delightful taste. It really kicks me into the day. I recommend it.

I'd never tried gunpowder tea before, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but this tea really does have a smokey, almost mesquite flavor to it. The flavor is pretty strong, but very pleasant.

For some this may be an acquired taste. Gunpowder tea is very smokey, in both aroma and taste. It is very good mixed with peppermint tea as well.

Interesting to look at. Good to drink. Mixes well with other teas.

i like to add it to assam harmony o make nice mixed iced tea. its also refreshing by itstelf

I like the slightly smokey taste it has to it. I like to have this in the afternoon when I need a little caffeine. This is one of the few teas I could drink every day and not get tired of it.

Still searching for my 'preferred' green tea. This one is inching closer to that spot. It is alwasy fun to watch this tea brew and go from little pellets to opened leaves.

Gunpowder green tea tends to be a strong middle-of-the-road green tea in terms of flavor, and this is not an exception. The flavor is aggressive for a green, though not bitter, and less grassy than most greens. If you tend to lean toward black tea, this might be a good green to initiate yourself with.

Love this tea. Best green tea ever. Great for in the morning or thought the day.

this is just a great tea all around with a wonderfully rich and satisfying flavor. i am hard pressed to say if anything else is better than this.

Not my first chioce among green tea, but okay. It has a smokey taste too it though that I liked.

This tea got high marks from others, but personally I could not stand it. I drink greems and whites, and while this is a white, it tasted too much like 'tea' if that makes any sense. It is aptly named, and someone who is more of a black tea drinker would probably like this (I would guess). Just not for me.

Great tea with a strong taste. I drink this every morning for breakfast and it does the job giving me that spark to start my day. I recommend it for any time of the day actually. The taste is a bit strong at first but to anyone who does not like the taste, you will get used to it.

I am brand new to tea. This is a very interesting tea. It has a very strong smokey flavor. I really enjoy it for a change of pace.

Different from your regular green tea, it has a smoky flavor to it, and plenty of caffine! It's like turning tricks on a shotgun!

It's an interesting, 'zesty' tea. I've never had anything quite like it before. Try this one if you are looking for something different.
