Interesting, but the smokiness ends up more an unfortunate aftertaste to me.

This tea is bold and smoky, but is quite possibly the smoothest green tea I've ever had. I drink this for breakfast and in the early afternoon for a pickup. I love watching the pellets expand in my IngenuiTEA.

Bold flavor similar to coffee very powerful and good to give a good caffine kick in the morning

This is a good everyday green tea, in fact it is one of the few green tea's my wife will drink. If you prefer black tea's this is a good green to try. Use an infuser that has small holes however, or a lot of the tea will escape into your cup.

A wonderful tea. The pellets are easy to measure out. The aroma is a bit smokey and the taste is great.

This is my everyday tea. I usually drink a hot cup in the morning with breakfast brewed nice and strong since I am use to coffee. I love the smokey taste and fullness of this tea. I also think this tea has a bit more caffeine than other green teas. It gets my heart going a bit. The rest of the day I usually drink this iced with honey or some mint after meals.

Gunpowder is my staple tea. It is the single tea that got me hooked. I have some at home and at work to make sure it is with me whenever I need it.

Just as I'd expect. Soft green tea aroma, pleasantly grassy color and taste. I especially like this tea with lemon grass or peppermint leaves added.

Has an amazing taste it can be a bit much when you first wake up but about halfway through the cup you can't imagine drinking anouther tea, plus since the tea is in little balls you get more in the same size can and it is easier to mesure than other teas

It smells like seaweed to me, I don't really like it, its not terrible though.

Wow, this was strong for me. This is deffinetly a morning tea to get you going. At first sip the smokey-ness was way too much but halfway through the cup I began to enjoy it.

This is one of my staples. It has a slightly smoky-sweet flavor. Does not taste very 'green'. It is also very forgiving to brew!

I love the smoky flavour. It's even better when you add a pinch of peppermint. Yumm!

This tea is fantastic! It's got a great smokey flavor to it and so long as you don't oversteep, it's absolutely delicious.

I wasn't sure if I'd like this tea, but after giving it a couple of cups to try it, I have to say I really do like it. It's definitely got a smokey flavor, but sometimes I still get a bit of a honey in the taste.

This is the first gunpowder I've had, and I really enjoyed it. It has a bold flavor and a slight smokiness with other earthy undertones. For this reason, it reminds me a little of my favorite Islay single malt scotch. I am giving it 4 stars because I end up drinking lots of debris at the bottom because it contains lots of very fine particles. Maybe this is a quality of all gunpowders?

Very nice quality tea; makes a strong cup and tastes a bit smokey. I like to mix it with peppermint for a refreshing blend.

This is a very unique tea. It is a little too smokey for me. The smell of the leaves after steeping is amazingly smokey. It tends to be very strong, too. Not a favorite, but interesting!

This is my hubby's favorite tea iced, he drinks at least a gallon a week. It's not too strong and doesn't need a lot of sweetening if any.

I'm not a big fan of greens, and this one didn't convert me. Maybe it's my technique, but it's hard to get it just right. The tea is either too thin, like hot, green water, or tastes like burned grass.

The gunpowder tea is a great, brisk tea with an earthy, evocative aroma. I like it quite a lot.

A great, strong green tea, perfect for a cold afternoon or a morning cup. Very rich and somewhat bitter, it's quickly becoming one of my favorites.

Very good smokey flavor, similar to hojicha. So if you like that defiantly give this a shot.

I'm not a green tea drinker, but I just love this tea. I has such a great flavor. I'll be purhcasing the 1 lb. bag next.

Oh this is so wonderful especially if you mix it with peppermint or mint tea. My mother-in-law loves some tea mix called morroccan mint, when I saw the ingredients I thought I could make the same combination from the different teas here. So I mixed gunpowder tea and mint and the same flavor came out of it. I'm very pleased with it.

This tea is pretty good for a green tea. Perfect for making moroccan iced tea. I don't think I'd drink it alone, though.

Disappointed in this one. Rather bland; not enough smokiness for a gunpowder.

This is my first loose leaf green tea to try as I've only had green tea from bags from a popular grocery store brand that starts with L.

I will say I liked it because of its smokey and simple taste but was turned away by the faint ashtray smell, but what can you expect from a tea named gunpowder! I rate this tea 'ok' because of its simple and smokey flavor like I said, but the aroma is a turn down.

this gunpowder, when brewed too strong, tastes like licking the bottom of an ashtray. it's drinkable if brewed very weak.

Yum. After trying the Sencha Premier, I wanted something that didn't taste like my lawn. This was just what I was looking for. I will be ordering this again.

This is one of my everyday teas. I mix it with spearmint and enjoy it hot or cold. My 14 year old son loves it hot or cold also.

This is my all time favorite green tea. I keep it on the shelf at all times. Full flavored with a bit of smoke flavor

I personally really enjoyed this tea, especially for the price. It had a good smoky flavor to it but not an ash tray flavor as some describe. I think for the price you simply cannot pass it by with out trying it.

I love this tea. It has a smokey taste to it that makes it a very interesting green tea. I drink this straight -- nothing added. It is one that I reach for each morning.

the smokiness of this tea doesn't work well with the green tea flavor, try a smoky black tea before you go for this one

This tea tastes like the stuffy, smokey air in a bowling alley. Good thing I like bowling alleys. Nicer in small doses mixed with other teas.

This is my favortie tea so far- I love the way it looks and it is a SUPER way to start the day. I love it!!

I was introduced to this tea by a Filipino Family from NYC (originally from Bocolod - in Negros Oriental.) The husband like me had diabetes and I was told that this tea was beneficial to keeping your blood sugars under control. So I brewed up a batch and was unable to drink it. My Filipina friend told me that I brewed it too strong, and should brew it lighter using less and less tea to the point where I wasn't actuallying using any tea. Then I got an idea drinking Sobee green tea: sweeten it with something that will dampend the dark taste. I tried several sweeteners until I hit on Crystal Light Raspberry tea. Since then I have tried several crystal light flavors and it has been suggested that I bottle and sell my resulting ice tea. Here is my recepie: using a 6-cup coffee press, start with 1.5 TBS of gunpowder tea. Fill the coffee press with boiling water and let steep for about 15 minutes. At the same time, cut the ends off of two lemons and then squeeze them into a 64 oz.ice tea pitcher, then add one container of Crystal Light or storebrand equivalent to the pitcher. Be sure to put the squeezed lemon rinds into the pitcher. When the tea has cooled so that it does not melt the pitcher, add it to the Crystal Light and lemon mix such that the Crystal Light disolves. Then fill the pitcher with cold water (might be best to use bottled water if your municipal water is hard or contains residual chemicals. ) Place in the refrigerator until the tea is ice cold. Pour into a 12 oz glass with cracked ice. Want to spice it up? Add 1 oz jigger of white Puerto Rican Rum - makes a great Pinky Finkey. Named after me of course.

intense flavor, great mixed with spearmint and orange peel.

This tea is ok. It is compressed so a teaspoon makes a stronger tea than a teaspooon of less compressed teas.

Another great tea, not really much of a green tea person but had no idea this was one till I went to reorder after a friend had me try it. I absolutely loved it!!
