This tea has a smokey woodsy taste. The aftertaste is a little bit like kissing a smoker. It would probably be a fantastic tea to drink with a breakfast of bacon and eggs. I am tempted to cook with it. It is definitely an acquired taste though. I would not want to drink a whole pot of it.

Gunpowder tea is a great tea in the morning, with a slice of banana bread

Good, but a little strong. This tea get bitter very quickly, do not over steep.

this tea was very interesting. it starts off with an earthy sort of taste, while the middle of the cup has the smokey flavor that gives it, it's ambiance. the cup then goes down back to the earthy taste to ease you out of the class making the experience a delightful one. i highly recommend this tea.

This tea matches the classic standard for gunpowder.

Potent and flavorful. If you want a strong but complex green tea, try it.

This has the perfect amount of smokiness to it. Great, dark green flavor.

The first tea I tried from Adagio and still one of my staples. Slightly smokey flavor reminds me of a black tea, but the light flavor is all green.

A classic green. I often mix it with berry blast for a great iced tea.
★★★★★
This tea is a staple for me as I love strong-flavored greens. The smoky quality is so delightful - great for an awakening morning cup as well as for a soothing cuddle-up-with-tea in a quiet evening moment. The aroma and several layers of taste make this tea an exceptional sipping experience!

One of the best gunpowder teas out there. Smokier and darker than most without being overwhelming.

This Gunpowder is a very solid green tea. It reminds me of the tea that is served at my local Chinese restaurants and certainly has the common "green tea" flavor. Overall, I think it is merely "good". I don't find it exceptional in any way, but it is a good solid green tea. If you want a simple green tea without a large price tag, then this is one to consider.
★★★★★
This is may favorite "go to" non flavored green tea. A great tasting tea that stands up to light snacking while drinking it. The resulting color is darker than some other green teas I have tried and it certainly needs room for the leaves to fully expand allowing for a better extraction. I typically brew the leave twice.

This is the frist loose leaf tea I have ever had, and the first tea I have had other than bagged tazo teas. I am very happy with this tea. It has the greentea flavor I have come to expect but a hint of smoke. Also thank you Adagio for sending me a sampler of pumpkin spice.

So far my favorite green tea. Has more punch then other greens. If you overbrew, though, it tastes like an ashtray.
★★★★☆
Nice strong green flavor. Great first thing in the morning and with softer flavors.

This was my first gunpowder so I can't really judge it against anything else, it was a very interesting and good green though.
★★★★☆
A good choice for your everyday green tea. It steeps well twice, is inexpensive, and is interesting to watch unfold.

Average green tea. One of my favorite more affordable options. Not very leafy in flavor, slightly smokey.
★★★★★
Love this tea! Very bold. Almost felt like a black tea. Would definitely order again!
★★★★★
One of my absolute favorite teas. I do not drink more than 1 cup per day because of the strength of flavor, but I thoroughly enjoy each cup of this unique tasting tea. I hope to discover more like this.
★★★★☆
I am not a usual grenn tea drinker, but I enjoyed this.
★★★★★
A strong green tea. A suitable replacement for coffee, nice and strong.
★★★★★
Gunpowder is my favorite green tea. I love the deep green taste.
★★★★☆
Definitely a distinct green tea. It has a much bolder flavor than your garden variety greens. It took several cups to grow on me, but has become one of my everyday teas.
★★★★★
Love the smoky undertones of this tea, its a staple green tea to have, especially for blending.
★★★★☆
Of the Gunpowder teas I've had, this one ranks very high. Great scent dry and steeped. Excellent taste, brews up strong. Goes good with breakfast foods, but it not limited to breakfast!
★★★★★
this reminds me of chinese restaurant tea, and i mean that in a good way. a nice simple everyday tea, i like this one a lot
★★★★★
Has a great scent, tastes even better in the cup. I love it in the afternoon.
★★★★★
By far the best green I've tried thus far. I enjoy this any time of day.
★★★★★
My husband loves this gunpowder tea. He brews up big batches of it and takes it to work as iced tea. Everyone is always after his tea. This has a nice strong taste that he loves.
★★★★★
THE best Gunpowder I have ever tasted, hands down. It's got that classic smokey flavor and taste that I frankly love about this tea, except it's not an overpowering smoke at all. I've experienced overpowering gunpowders before and it's nice to finally have a gunpowder that doesn't make me want to not drink the cup of tea.
★★★☆☆
A malty and grassy green tea. It tends to brew strongly, so you may want to steep for less than three minutes.
★★★★☆
A good, basic green tea. It has quickly become one of my favorites.
★★★★☆
I enjoyed this tea, but I just don't find myself going back to it much. When I do drink it, it tends to be mixed with peppermint.
★★★★★
I tend to be a bit picky about my green teas, but this had such great reviews, I decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did! This tea was so refreshing and tasty! The smoky taste made it a wonderful early evening tea and the fresh aroma simply makes you feel great!
★★★★☆
Impossible to resist a tea called gunpowder, looks cool too. Won't be a regular, but fun to try.
★★★★★
Wonderful tasting green tea. Not too strong, but a solid body. I will definately be drinking more of this.
★★★★☆
Excellent all around basic green tea. Touch of honey makes it perfect.
★★★☆☆
My friends are crazy about this one, but it's only ok for me. It can easily be oversteeped. A good basic green tea.
★★★★☆
This is a pretty tea, but it is a bit too mild for us.
★★★★☆
This tea has a subtle smoky flavor. It doesn't taste as 'green' as other green teas, which I like. The appearance is very unique, and the leaves get surprisingly large when steeped.
★★★★☆
I haven't had a lot of green tea before this one, but it got me hooked. Just be careful not to overbrew.
★★★★★
One of the best gunpowders around. It is my staple in a green/mint tea.
★★★★☆
It is the mildest gunpowder green I've had. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a green tea that does not have any surprises.
★★★☆☆
Interesting, but the smokiness ends up more an unfortunate aftertaste to me.
★★★★★
This tea is bold and smoky, but is quite possibly the smoothest green tea I've ever had. I drink this for breakfast and in the early afternoon for a pickup. I love watching the pellets expand in my IngenuiTEA.
★★★★★
Bold flavor similar to coffee very powerful and good to give a good caffine kick in the morning
★★★★★
This is a good everyday green tea, in fact it is one of the few green tea's my wife will drink. If you prefer black tea's this is a good green to try. Use an infuser that has small holes however, or a lot of the tea will escape into your cup.
★★★★★
A wonderful tea. The pellets are easy to measure out. The aroma is a bit smokey and the taste is great.
