I can't say I'm a fan honestly. I find it to be overly smoky and too pungent. Even the smell when I opened the case was iffy. I gave it to a friend who enjoyed it more for what it's worth.
This is a very unique leaf. There is a very pungent aroma when steeped. warning: this tea does not taste very good cold.
this was ok tea, nothing really special about it, it did not stand out to me enough to order again, a mellow flavor. im a big fan of chai tea though so maybe im just used to bold flavorful teas.
Good things come in little, tightly-rolled packages, apparently. Nice smokey aroma translates into smooth tasting brew.

Very nice mild flavor. Also, due to the way the tea is rolled together you only need to use very little of it in comparision to other teas, which makes this tea very cheap per cup.
This is a nice green tea. It is good to mix with other flavors or to add to your favorite herb tea.
The dried tea is tiny (and weird) clumpy-tight-rolled leaves with a firm green tea smell (not grassy). I used WAY too much the first time and the taste was smooth and powerful kicking me awake. Next attempt I used less, and it has a great strong full-body green tea taste full of flavor (maybe I used too much still, lol). Compared to tea-bag gunpowder tea I've purchased in asian markets, this one is WAY less grassy/mulchy with a clean taste. The price of this tea is excellent, it goes a LONG way and has a bold taste - great for someone who wants to stretch tea for awhile, or loves their tea strong.
This is one of the places where my unsophisticated palette really shows itself -- this tea is tasty, and very "tea" flavored, but I'm not sure how to describe the notes. It's strong without being obnoxious, and super sharp (unless you over steep it and then kapow!)
I really like this tea, it tastes especially good with a pinch of peppermint.
This tea does have a very smoky, distinct flavor, not at all like other green teas. I want to continue to experiment with it. I think with a shorter brew time (maybe a little under 3 minutes), I might like it more. It's fun to watch it brew.

Gunpowder gets 5 bullets because of it's smokey, non grassy flavor. Im planning on going through this gunpowder faster than an intercity middle school student.

My brother simply loves this tea so I had to try it. I did not find it as wonderful as he seems to think it is but not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. It is okay but I like pi lo chun better.

I really like this green tee, it does not have a grassy taste like most greens. It has a understated smoke taste and a nice cutting finish. Brews to a light amber .

My ultimate green tea, I won't drink any other green. This is mild yet flavorful without the disappointing spinach flavor of some greens.
So far this is the best tea for the buck I've found on adagio. It has a very rich, up-front smokey flavor that finishes with a vegetal spinachy taste. The pellets open up BIG so you only have to use a little bit. Considering the price, how little you have to use, and that it's great for multiple infusions, Adagio's Gunpowder is an absolutely superb value!

This tea isnt my favorite. The smokiness is a tad bit too much for me. I like to brew a little less of this tea and I do my others to weaken it a bit. Honey also helps to sweeten it up. I'm more of a mild-mannered tea fan so I think this is a tea for someone who likes nice bold flavors.
this is a very nice gunpowder green. Not the best I have ever had but for the price it is GREAT! Overall a good deal. Gunpowder is a bit more "earthy" than some other green teas... I love gunpowder...
Great quality gunpowder, one of my favorite green teas. Very aromatic! Can steep the same leaves 3-4 times and the tea tastes better and better. I find it a pretty good deal.

The smoky flavor is nice, but it's kind of bitter. It's good as long as you add plenty of sugar or mix with something sweet.

I've ordered this tea several times, it generally is very good. This last batch didn't seem quite as good but it may just be me.
This old reliable gunpowder tea is still the best value in green teas. It has a great green tea flavor that is somewhat smokey. Don't use too much. It's very dense. Be sure prepare it so its leaves can open fully and don't steep it more than 3 minutes at 180F or it will become harsh. Try it with little sweetener!
Always a classic and a regular in my tea rotation I love gunpowder tea, especially mixed with spearmint.
Who needs coffee? Gunpower gives you the kick you need to wake up but having the added benefit of being good for you.
Great tasting tea. Green, but tastes much "darker", with a toasted smokey flavor. Mixes well with mint or other herbs for a change of pace.
My default tea for mixing with stuff - mint, lemongrass, whatever. It has a strong flavor that isn't easily overpowered, but it's not my favorite on its own.
This is a staple to my green tea cabinet. It is fairly cheap and always gives me a good kick when needed. A little stronger than most green teas, heavier taste. Closer to an oolong tea in strength.
I've gotten loose leaf gunpowder from a local store around where I live and it tastes better. I've learned the hard way that Gunpowder comes in different kinds. This one has a sourish bitterness to it, plus it's got a strong flavor that I don't necessarily like in a green tea.
I love my gunpowder green tea. I love everything about it, from the way it looks all shiny and pebbly in the tin, to the way it tastes like Sunday afternoons in chinatown. This is another drink-it-everyday tea for me.
