I always have like gunpowder tea, this one was very good, just what I was hoping for.
A classic green tea from Zhejiang province, China. Gunpowder, as the name implies, is made up of leaves hand-rolled into tiny pellets. These resemble gunpowder, and give this tea its distinct name. Full-bodied cup with a hint of smokiness.

a lot doesn't have to be said about this tea if you've had gunpowder green tea and you are looking to get quality than this is the gunpowder tea for you
No complaints here and nothing goes to waste. Spent tea leaves are used in breakfast omelets or added to other vegetables. Extra dietary fiber and benefits.
Smooth, good flavor for a green. I don't detect the 'smokiness' referred to by other reviewers but this is a solid green nonetheless.
Gunpowder tea is my favorite Adagio tea. There is, of course, the pleasure of watching it unroll in the cup. That makes it a great tea to brew in your IngenuiTea. Therein, you can see that you need less tea than you think per cup. Its strong, and the pearls unfurl with a good flavor.
the best gunpowder green I have ever had I will definetly buy again.
Loved the smokey,'green' earthy flavor, i have a cup everyday , Definitely going to buy more
A solid gunpowder green tea. Not flashy, but it more than lives up to expectations.
Nice and smokey, this is a great afternoon pick-me-up tea.
Great all around green tea, I add this to flavored teas if I need to mellow it out a little. It is also great by itself
Definitely one of my favorite greens, it has a nice smoky/spinach flavor without the bitter taste. It steeped 2-3 times for me without losing flavor.
This tea is tasty, but do mind--if you want to put it in a Moroccan mint-style mixture, it will be easily overwhelmed by the spearmint, even if you only steep it for a couple of minutes.
This tea has a nice earthy flavor. I highly recommend it.
Tightly wrapped little leaves expand producing a pleasantly flavorful brew. I had my doubts about trying such a popular tea, but a few weeks with it and I'm definitely appreciating it's charms. Good for multiple infusions. It's fun to 'load' my teapot with gunpowder in anticipation of a long day.
I expected to like this tea more than I did. It may be that I am not used to the smokiness. I've been drinking a lot of Japanese green teas lately and those just seem to be a lot smoother and more refreshing. I think I really like my green tea to look green as well: when brewed this tea is brown.
I liked this flavor a lot. It wasn't super strong or bitter. I didn't use boiling water so it came out perfect. I would order this again.
I wasn't expecting to like this tea. However, I don't know if it was just the fact that this is only my second green or what but this was awesome!! It has your classic green taste with a bit of smokiness to it that makes it really rich and easy to sense. A great tea and an even greater buy!
I really love this tea...I was initially intrigued by the name, but the aroma and taste completely sold me. I love the smoky smoothness. Great in the afternoon after a hard day.
This is a great everyday green tea. I love the strong flavor and everything about this tea
A light smooth and smokey flavour! So glad that I ordered the giant bag ... just wonderful!
This green tea is nice and strong, for a green, whithout being too grassy. I usually like black better, but this is nice.
Really yummy! This is one I've mixed with a couple other teas from Adagio to give it that little extra kick! I really, really love it!
This tea was pretty good, I would recommend it to anyone.
It's not the best green tea in the world but it is a very solid everyday green considering the price. It also seems to be more consistent than some others.
I am not a huge lover of green teas because some of them can be a bit grassy to me. Not this tea! Not only is it interesting to look at, but the flavor is pleasantly smoky with excellent depth. I showed the leaves to a friend and he joked about walking off with them just from sight and smell alone.
A bold taste with a hint of smokiness. Don't oversteep or you will get a very bitter cup! Mixed with peppermint or spearmint with one full sugar cube, it makes a perfect iced tea (Moroccan mint tea!).
This tea blooms into a uniquely strong taste once it unfurls. Perfect for blending too, It's a tea that tastes great iced or hot. A smokey essence, has a kick to it.
This is a tough tea - the strong green tea flavor made me a little queasy. Not for everyone, obviously.
Fun to watch these leaves unfold. The first time I brewed it was for too long so it came out bitter. The second time I brewed it for whatever it said on the package and it was good. Smooth and earthy
This is a good cheap green tea. I prefer lung ching (dragonwell) but that is my personal preference. And this is good for when i want nice tea but dont feel like drinking through my paycheck
It tastes somewhere between a green and an oolong, and it's a little fruity. It's alright, but a little bitter and doesn't really taste like what I expect from a green tea.
Reminiscent of spinach in aroma, I found this tea to be strong without being overpowering or bitter. Currently, this is my favorite green tea. I greatly enjoyed watching the pellets bloom
I have heard fantastic things about gunpowder, but I think that this is just not my cup of tea. I found it to be pretty bitter but I tend to have a hard time with green tea in general. My advice would be to add honey or some sort of sweetener.
This tea is a great value. The small balls unfurl into larger leaves, so you can use a bit less than a teaspoon to get a full flavored cup. Mix it with some peppermint or spearmint and you've got your own custom Casablanca Twist.
am not usually a fan of green teas but I liked this.
My favorite green so far. It has a great green grassy taste but with some smokiness. I will buy this again. And it does not need to steep for long. 2-3 minutes is ideal.
This tea has grown on me. I find it tasty and relaxing.
My husband loves this tea because it has a strong flavor. It stands up beautifully to this former coffee addict.
My only concern is the pesticides used in green tea these days. I'd really like to see more organic teas.
Personally, I'm more of a black tea drinker, so I wasn't crazy about this tea, but those who enjoy green tea more will probably like it. It has a nice taste, and goes down smoothly without much of the bitterness of some green teas. It is fun to watch the little pellets unfurl into huge tea leaves while brewing, yet I don't think I would order this tea again.
Pretty good tea, especially since I am not a big fan of gunpowder to begin with.
I love the smokey taste of it. Will get this again for sure.
A very good 'everyday' green. Good looking leaves expand nicely when brewed. Big green flavor doesn't go bitter easily, even under multiple brews.
This is my morning tea and it's really perfect. It's a strong green tea, so you have to like strong teas.
Bold green tea. Smoky, like other reviewers have said. Gets bitter if the water is too hot or is steeped too long.
This is a great green tea. You must like a strong 'green' flavor to enjoy this. If you do, you will love this green tea.
This tea tasted somewhat off to me. It did not have a clean finish.
Good flavor, if a tad weak. First cup was 3 grams in 9-10 oz, will try a higher ratio of tea next time. Need a good size infuser for this one as the leaves expand to about 8x their original size
this is a great green. strong but not bitter. mixes well for your own homemade blends
A good tea. A little too strong of a green tea for my taste.
A nice smokey tea that I enjoy after dinner. Only downside is I find I can only get 1 cup out of the leaves.
