I bought this one for my sister as she loves green tea. It has a very strong scent right out of the bag -kinda smokey?- and once it's brewed, it makes a delicious cuppa.
A classic green tea from Zhejiang province, China. Gunpowder, as the name implies, is made up of leaves hand-rolled into tiny pellets. These resemble gunpowder, and give this tea its distinct name. Full-bodied cup with a hint of smokiness.

I haven't tried this alone, but it's a blend tea in a lot of my favorite mixes. It adds the right smoky tone when used sparingly, but doesn't overpower like the lapsang can. Definitely stays in my tea cupboard.
An interesting tea, but one that I think I prefer in blends as opposed to on its own. It has a grassy aroma to it, both brewed and in the bag, which isn't something I'm too fond of. The flavor is only mildly grassy, though. there's an interesting smokiness that's more prominent. Nowhere near as strong as lapsang souchong in smokiness, this tea is great if you're looking for something smoky without feeling as though you've inhaled a campfire.
One of my favorites. Has a very clean and refreshing taste. I enjoy this one on it's own. For me, nothing is needed. No sugar or honey.
According to my green tea-loving relatives, this is an alright tea. Not as good as sleeping dragon, but still decent. Smells quite similar though.
I drink this mixed with spearmint for a Moroccan tea. Its great for what I use it for.
I'm not a massive fan of green tea, but this is actually pretty good. It's not as grassy as most green and has a nice slightly smoky flavor.
This one is quite good on its own but much better when mixed with some spearmint
This is my go-to green tea. It just seems to always come out just right and doesn't have too strong of a flavor in any direction.
This tea has a subtle smoky flavor that is strong without being overpowering when the tea is prepared hot. However, I made a pitcher of iced gunpowder which was all smoke. I love it hot though, and look forward to mixing it into my own blends.
My husband really loves this flavor. He is wanting to order more. He feels its a man tea
Strong and VERY caffeinated. A perfect morning pick me up!
I've had this tea in multiple blends before to great effect, so I figured I could use this one as a nice decaf and I'm not disappointed. I usually hate green teas, but the gunpowder green has a depth and smoothness that others simply can't replicate. There's almost a smoky quality to it that is reminiscent of a pu erh without the earthy fermentation aftertaste. I'm so glad I bought some!
This one is my husband's favorite tea. He is a gunpowder fanatic.
Love love love! I love making moroccan mint tea with this!
Gunpower is a fan favorite everywhere. I personally enjoy it because it is a stronger and more flavorful green tea. There isn't much negative to say about this tea.
A nice green tea, not as harsh as some others that I have tried. I bought it to mix with mint tea and so far its been lovely.
this tea is so smokey much more than i was anticipating the first few sips i just tasted smoke i'm gonna try blending with my spearmint tea but i doubt i'll reorder this particular green tea
Pretty good for the price, but I've had better gunpowder green teas before.
A lovely green tea. Very smoky and leafy. Absolutely perfect with some honey.
The basic green. Not a whole lot of sweetness and mostly grassy but weirdly refreshing and wholesome. Very sweet and tropical fruity on the nose. Not very hearty itself, it's something that can be drank on its own and enjoyed but would go well with hearty foods.
You can do a hot, short infusion at first to help the leaves unfurl but i haven't noticed much of a difference either way. Steeps well the first two times, turns into water on the third.
good smoky, vegetal green tea. has quite an earthy flavor so make sure that's something you're looking for.
Kind of tastes like a monkey oolong from teavana but with a little more bitterness and a much better price tag
Nice and smoky...you have to be in the mood for it, but is a nice tea.
I've had bagged tea from Starbucks and other places but they do not compare to what they have here! This tea is of a different league, everyone must try it!
I really love the smoky flavor of this tea. It can be a bit bitter at times, but I think I just need to work out the settings on my tea kettle. The smokiness is perfect with a bit of sugar.
Our favorite of the green teas that we have tried.
What a great tea. It's pretty mild, so it blends well - try with honey and citrus (and whiskey if you're trying to get rid of a cold).
This tea is pretty great. I, like others, originally bought this to make Moroccan Mint Tea but wanted to try it alone first. It has a great smokey flavor with a vegetal aftertaste.
This has a smokey taste with the green tea. It's interesting.
Really great, clean green tea. This might be my new go-to green tea.
I have to admit I didn't finish drinking my first cup of this. Nothing pleasant about it. However, I see others blend teas. I will try blending it with something else. Perhaps I let it steep too longer. I don't always time the steeping process.
I was afraid of green tea before trying this, but I have definitely changed my mind. Earl Grey now has some competition.
Clean tasting and with a little honey it a perfect a meal drink.
This was purchased as a gift for a friend. He liked it, but he said it needed something to sweeten it a little bit.
This tea was a bit too smokey tasting for me.
Not my cup of tea, but my gf absolutely adores it. It doesn't take much to brew a good cup, and is light and delicate.
My favorite green tea by far! You could blend this with virtually anything.
This tea wasn't anything I expected it to be. With a name like gunpowder, I was expecting the flavor to be more interesting, or with a kick or something more exciting than it actually was. But the flavor ended up being very mild, and light with a hint of a smokey after taste. I did end up liking this tea quite a bit. There's something so subtle, and simple about this tea that you can't help but enjoy it.
This is my go to green tea. It is smooth with subtle vegetal flavors. Watching them unroll is also fun
Very good green tea. Light enough to be green, strong enough to be flavorful.
This was the first tea that I tried from Adagio and it set the bar quite high for me. I let it steep at 170 degrees for 2 minutes, as Adagio directed, and it remained consistent in flavor and hue for all three. Nothing of note was changed from each steeping. All for the same amount of time, and for the same temperature.
It was a light green tea by my standards, but it was very refreshing. I would say there were definitely floral undertones to it, along with a bit of seaweed, but it was more grassy and floral than anything else. I think it's a tea that can, and will grow on me.
The name of this tea is very appropriate, not only because it looks like gunpowder, but also for its strong smokey taste.
I'm still not sure if I like this tea, but it could be because I'm not handling it correctly. Very strong and smoky. Recommend it to those who want something stronger with lower caffeine.
I only wish i could buy something bigger than 4oz and smaller than 24oz! Oh well! 24oz it is! I shall Drink lots!
One of my favorite green teas. It has a very 'smoky' finish that isn't overpowering. I find it has just the right intensity for a green, not too mellow but not having that overpowering plant taste.
I am madly in love with this tea. It is a beautiful green tea with a bit of bite and makes for an interesting cup but also complements many other teas for blending.
I'm not a huge fan of green tea but this one I can drink and by only adding a little bit of honey. I tried to mix with spearmint but I think I steeped it for too long because the smokey taste was a little too over powering.
Fell in love with this awesome green tea. It's straight green tea and very good. It's so fun watching the leaves expand. That's the most fun part of it all. The tea is delicious and that goes without saying much. A must have!
i love this so much thank you.You guys should check this out.
