This is my go to tea in the morning. It has a distinct 'smoky' flavor and is a very simple and pleasing green tea. Oversteeping is very easy to do with this tea and if you are not careful it can taste way too bitter. I add a little bit of mint to it which makes a very refreshing cup of iced tea Overall a very nice anytime anywhere tea.

A lovely green full of a leafy earthy flavor and not bad plain or with honey.
★★★★★
One of my favorite green teas. Earthy but not overly bitter or strong in flavor.

This is by far my favorite green tea. I brew it whenever I need to stay awake for a while. Its silky-smooth, fresh, near-smoky flavor is so pleasant to taste again and again. This tea is one of the main reasons I come back to Adagio to get my quality teas.

Very smokey in both aroma and flavor, very distinct from the normal grassy greens I drink.
★★★★★
Very light and delicate, I sometimes mix it with my jasmine tea.

I love smoky green tea, this one is great, I reuse the leaves and make a couple of cups.

This is quite a tasty green tea and has some almost spicy, yet very interesting notes to it.

This tea is nice, however I personally am not a fan of the smoakiness, it is a bit much for me.
Edit: I didn't think I was a fan of smokiness, but this has become one of my favorite green teas.

I had never tried gunpowder before I bought it here, and now I'm wondering why the heck I hadn't!
★★★★☆
best green tea so far. I may have to get this one on auto delivery. I have found this tea to really boost my energy.

Nice mild smoky tea. Everything I expecrt from gunpowder tea.
★★★★★
This is a perfect gunpowder, some gunpowders are too smoky almost like an ashtray. Not this one, character of the green come through nicely.

Love this tea! have always been an Earl Grey, oolong, dargeerling tea drinker, i tried this tea and love it.
★★★★★
This is a strong green tea that I use with spearmint to make a Moroccan tea.
★★★★☆
My everyday tea. I mix with lemon grass most days but enjoy it plain as well. You don't need much (too much tea, (or time) will make it fairly bitter.

I'd been looking for this type of tea since I returned from Morocco. Bring your water to a boil in a pot or barad, add a spoon or two of tea (depending on servings), some spearmint and sugar and you have an authentic Moroccan sweet tea. Let it steep for a minute or two, strain and enjoy.
★★★★★
A classic and a favourite to reorder for sure. This intense, yet charming tea is a comforting end to a long day.

They don't call it gunpowder for nothing. You know those early mornings that you just can't get yourself out of bed? The cure for those: gunpowder tea.

Before this tea I wasn't a huge fan of green tea, But I may actually be in love with this tea. It's beautiful watching the leaves open up, and I typically use them more than once. I only got the sample size of this tea, but I'll be getting the full size with my next order.

Gunpowder was just alright. I didn't quite get the taste I was looking for. I will try it again and this time add some cream, sugar or honey in it.
★★★★★
A very light, woodsy taste. The aroma is reminiscent of a warm spring or autumn rain, and goes spectacularly well with Spiced Apple Chai and a little Cream teas. As per my other reviews, sugar is always a must for me and it really helps to bring out the flavor of this tea in a very nice and subtle way. Definitely a tea I'll be getting again.

I tried this with the spearmint tea to make the 'Moroccan Mint' tea and I really loved it! It's also a nice tea by itself. I'm not always into green tea (some of them are just a little too grassy for me to handle) but this one is probably good for people that wouldn't always reach for green tea, either.

Great tea. I love watching the leaves uncurl to make a delicious cup of tea.
★★★★★
A wonderful green tea, not quite as 'intense' as it's name would imply. It is solid, smoky and quite refreshing. Not exactly 'invigorating' or particularly 'relaxing' but definitely a rejuvenating flavor. A in my book.

Boom, what a charge! Gunpowder is a real eye-opener!
★★★☆☆
A little plain, but nice. Gets bitter after too long in the steeper.
★★★★★
This tea was pleasantly smoky, which suits my tastes perfectly. I don't order it often, but I enjoy it immensely when I do.
★★★☆☆
This is a decent tasting tea, however it lacks complexity and the smokiness can be overpowering after a while.
★★☆☆☆
I was not a fan of this one at all. I will try again and update my review after making a few tweeks to see if I can find my happy place.

This tea tastes... Pretty standard. Like the teabags I can buy from any grocery store, but much less likely to steep bitter and capable of 2 or 3 infusions. Maybe I'm not picking up what this tea has to offer, or maybe I came here looking for something different. It really just seems average to me, in any case. Still a good cup of tea.

Great light tea. I make all my tea as unsweetened iced tea. Good any time tea. I sometimes use a green tea as a base and add other flavors to it.
★★★★☆
This green has body and flavor to it. I prefer a bolder flavor to my tea and this green is bold!

This is a good strong green tea for a morning cup, or generally when you want to wake up.

It took me a couple of days to get use to the flavor of the Gunpowder tea... It's a little bitter (over steep)I think I let it steep way too long the first time, but now that I have the hang of it, it has actually grown on me. The flavor can be a little overwhelming for a beginner loose leaf tea drinker, and so I mixed it with the peppermint and oh my...it's REALLY good!
★★★★☆
Really good tea. I would like it to be a bit stronger, but that is just a personal preference as I like my tea strong.
★★★★☆
Not much of a green tea fan, I decided to give this tea a try. It's got a great flavor (not too bitter but not too weak to taste like nothing) and a nice spinach aroma that I expect from a green tea.
I can also steep it several times before it starts to lose it's flavor which is a great plus.
★★★★★
One of my favorite green teas! When it is brewed properly it is incredable. Excellent when mixed with a spearmint tea!
★★★★☆
This is a very rich and earthy green tea. It's my go-to, unflavored, green tea from Adagio.

a very soothing and surprisingly flavorful tea. perfect for relaxing.
★★★★☆
Gunpowder green tea is a crap-shoot. I never seem to get it the same each time it's made and sometimes, that's good - or very, very bad. This green tea has a pleasant depth to it, nothing terribly grassy and it plays well with sweet or plain platforms. It's good, but not great. Steep it for less time than you think it really needs. it becomes very bitter very quickly in my water, which despite filtration is very hard.

This is a repeat purchase for me, still loving it!

I am a bit disappointed by this. I was hoping for a smokey gunpowder tea to make Morrocan Mint, but to my displeasure, this gunpowder is very vegetal. It isn't near as smokey as the first kind of gunpowder I tried and sadly, it isn't as good for Morrocan Mint.

I used this to make mint tea, and it turned out great! This tea has a very strong flavor.
★★★★☆
Not quite as smoky as I might like, but still very tasty, especially with a little fresh mint from the garden.
★★★★☆
Being new to the loose leaf tea world this may not have been the ideal starter tea. Never the less I decided to include it in my first purchase order. The tea does have a smokey smell like stated in the description but I'm finding it hard to taste within the tea,I'm not sure whether it's my lack of experience or just the tea. It is a good green tea with some interesting subtle tastes but it does not seem like anything special.

Gunpowder is definitely a fitting name for this green. Between the ball formation of the dry leaves and the smoky taste the name definitely fits.
★★★★★
This tea is fantastic, i like strong teas so when i saw this i had to get it. Its strong and delicious, with a nice smoky flavor at the end of each sip.
★★★★☆
Gunpowder Green tea is a tasty and mild green tea. Be careful of the steeping time though. too long and it can become bitter.
