I steeped for 2 minutes and it tastes smokey and slightly bitter. It's not horrible but I don't really enjoy the taste.
One of my favorite green teas, the flavor is nice and strong and lasts for MANY rebrewings. I like to drink this one throughout the afternoon to keep my mind alert.

This is actually a very smooth tea, at least I think so. It was great to mix with spearmint and have a nice Morrocan Mint tea. It's a very smooth tea without the harsh grainy taste you can get with some other green teas.
I wanted to like green tea. I gave it the old college try. This stuff smells like singed lawn clippings, but not in a bad way. Maybe I'm scalding it, I don't know. I heat my water in a pot that has two settings: 'boiling,' and 'not boiling yet.' Maybe it takes more sophistication than I can muster to make this tea taste more than underwhelming. Oh well, back to black tea I go.

By itself this tea is pretty good. I personally prefer it mixed with some spearmint to offset the bitterness this tea can have.

I don't know much about green tea. Usually I'll just drink a minty green tea over ice during the warmer months and stick with strong coffee or black tea as a hot beverage during the colder months, but this tea surprised me with its smoky/spicy flavor, which was strong enough that I wasn't bored and didn't need to add anything to it.
This is really nice. It has that smoky green taste you want from a gunpowder. I originally bought this to try and blend, but I also really love it on it's own. Great for people who like black teas but want to try a green.
Just a solid green, make sure your water isn't too hot though its pretty sensitive.

For years I wrongly assumed gunpowder would taste like fire and wood. While it still tastes earthy, I realize now how wrong I was. I love this tea though- if it's oversteeped it has a bit of a spicy kick, but otherwise it's a wonderful green tea that's certainly easy to handle (large leaves = easy cleanup!). I definitely recommend it.

This gunpowder is very fresh, very milky in flavor, and lasts for quite a while. I've purchased gunpowder teas from different Asian supermarkets but this one is just as good, if not better than the ones I've purchased there. Will be buying again.
Very light flavor. Definitely smoky notes, not quite as bold or sweet of a flavor as I'm accustomed to.

Got this for my brother who loves green tea, but hadn't tried gunpowder on it's own before. He liked it just fine, but didn't appear to be overly enthused. The smokey taste was what he liked the best I believe.

Wonderful smoky green tea flavor, not very earthy or grassy though, so keep that in mind if you prefer that type of green tea flavor.

Green tea has been my tea of choice for as long as I can remember, as it is the first tea my parents allowed me to drink as a kid. This tea is amazing. Loved it on the first steep and just got better on the second and third. This is my go to, everyday tea. I found steeping in a little cooler water is safer then hotter.

This tea is light and smoky, but not overpowering. It's even good for multiple steeps and doesn't taste bitter with oversteeping. An excellent green tea.
