My go to green tea! I always blend this with spearmint. love it!
A classic green tea from Zhejiang province, China. Gunpowder, as the name implies, is made up of leaves hand-rolled into tiny pellets. These resemble gunpowder, and give this tea its distinct name. Full-bodied cup with a hint of smokiness.

My go to green tea! I always blend this with spearmint. love it!
really smokey as stated though I prefer it paired with chai then on it's own a bit too much punch for me.
Solid. Good green tea. Not as smoky as I would have thought.
I love a good Gunpowder. This is a good Gunpowder. The flavor is wonderful. I am so glad I bought the 3oz bag. that much more to savor.
My previous experiences with gunpowder have been bitter and not at all pleasant, but I decided to give this one a try. It has a lovely aroma and a nice, earthy flavor. It is perfect brewed in a French press with the addition of a little Meyer lemon. Would probably be good iced too.
I was wary of trying gunpowder tea, because of reviews that described it as smoky that's less campfire and woody and more tobacco smoke. I think those reviews are spot on, and the temperature and duration of one's steep is important. It's excellent tea if it's your cup, but it can transition from vegetal (spinach) to tobacco pretty easily if you're inattentive. However, one can easily enjoy multiple steepings, so it's a great value. Not my cup, but worth a try.
I love this green tea, it's my favorite in the bunch. As long as you don't let it sit overly long, it's so good with a squeeze of lemon.
I need to buy this again!! Wonderful smell. Haven't been able to find another gunpowder tea like it.
First tried this tea with a sampler a friend got me and it quickly became a favorite of mine. The taste is smooth, without the bitterness that I had become accustomed to with other green teas. That with the smoky aroma makes me crave it most when I want something to warm me up
Very good green tea. Subtle smokey flavor. All in all a delightful tea.
Full-bodied and a little smokey - just as expected. This is my second time ordering gunpowder green tea. When I'm looking for flavor that's a cross between sencha and a black tea like assam, I always choose gunpowder. It's great to have on hand.
I enjoy this green tea. I have to say I think my favorite aspect of it, though, is the fact that not only does it take less time to brew and less time to heat the water to an appropriate brewing temperature, but it is also nearly drinking temperature the moment it finishes brewing. Just right for a quick fix hot tea drink, unlike the black teas I drink. Mixed with their spearmint tea it also made for a good moroccan mint.
Brusque and angry for my more difficult mornings... I love the tang this tea has, the roughness.
Great green tea with light grassy flavor and a lovely aroma.
I'm not a big fan of green tea, and this kind certainly wouldn't change my mind. But for the price it's a good deal.
Smokey, earthy, and not too grassy, this is a nice one for a cold day.
Was disappointed in this one as I was expecting more of a 'earthy' taste. I have two other types of teas that have this one mixed in and I love them. However, when brewed by itself, it smells very strongly of old cigarettes (and I can't say that the taste is much different). I tried putting cream and sugar in it, but even that didn't help.
Much smokier than other gunpowder green teas I've tasted before. It almost reminds me a little bit of bourbon. A little too smoky for my tastes, but still very drinkable!
I have enjoyed this tea. It was a bit more bitter than the rest of my favorites, but still good.
This is the tea that made me love green tea. Will definitely re-order
Strong after taste, good tea overall... great price
A perfect example of 'a little goes a long way'. I use only two pinches of this tea and it lasts 4-5 infusions.
This is one of my favorite teas. I don't add any sugar or milk to this and don't find it to be bitter.
It has a nice light flavor an color. It was a smooth drinking tea.
Nice and string, lots of flavor, just the way I like my gunpowder green.
The leaves were not as shiny as I would expect, but this tea delivers on the gunpowder green flavor. I can get 2-3 good steeps out of this.
I am thoroughly impressed with this tea. I was in love the second it touched my lips! It has quickly become my go-to tea and will remain a staple in my pantry. It has a hearty, earthy flavor that is just so darn delicious!!
Solid green tea. I will use this as my go-to green for now.
A very pleasant green tea, I'd say one of my favorites. It's light yet has a bold taste of green tea which tastes very good.
Absolutely fantastic! Wonderful to enjoy during a quiet, comfortable evening at home. One of my favorites!
Got this for a friend who likes green tea. He knows nothing about tea, let alone green tea. I know just a bit more about green tea. Not much except I could take it or leave it. He says it's great. There you go!
Great flavor and a cool name :) Great morning pick me up.
This has a pretty subtle smoky flavor in addition to a sweet green tea flavor. I have never really liked green tea, but I liked this one. Makes a good daily tea.
really hearty. Have to be careful it can be to overpowering
Maybe it's not fair for me to review it because I mostly used this to confirm that I just don't like green tea. It's ok, but just not to my taste.
tasted great and i drink it all day at work. its good for one or two re-steeps.
A nice smokey green and a good afternoon tea as well.
Nice, mellow green tea. I like to add a jasmine ball once in awhile for a floral kick.
One of my favorite green teas I have ever had. I like it even more with a little honey added to it
Lovely version of gunpowder green tea. This should be awesome with flavored honeys
Gunpowder is a nice, reliable green tea. Nothing special about the flavor, but it's lots of fun watching the leaves unfurl!
I'm sure for a green tea lover this is good, but I didn't like the earthy taste.
If you are looking for a stronger flavored green tea, this is it. The bold flavor along with a slight smokiness makes this a great tea both with food as well as just an afternoon treat.
So my mother and i drink green tea every night before bed with a bit of lemon. And this worked out well.
This is a fantastic green tea with a much darker flavor. It retains a lot of the characteristics which make it feel like a green tea (obviously, being that it is one), but also has a flavor profile very reminiscent to some black teas. It's also a wonderful basis for some blends.
A very strong green tea, it does have some deep vegetal notes that I have to be in the mood for. I like it in blends, and I may try mixing it with spearmint to get a minty green tea.
A great 'dark' flavored green tea, bold but smooth!
Not as flavorful as I thought it would be, but still good
This is my favorite tea. Whether I steep it plain or with rosemary or spearmint and add vanilla soy milk, it is my morning staple. It is full flavored but not to strong. I typically use the leaves three times and have which makes it very economical.
This is a wonderful tea with a fresh flavor that's not flat or too grassy. I'm trying to drink more green tea for its' health benefits and this tea will definitely make that goal easier to attain.
