Gunpowder Customer Reviews

A classic green tea from Zhejiang province, China. Gunpowder, as the name implies, is made up of leaves hand-rolled into tiny pellets. These resemble gunpowder, and give this tea its distinct name. Full-bodied cup with a hint of smokiness.

So yummy! I love black tea and Adagio has great ones!

I've tried a few different vendors versions of this tea, and I really like this one. Strong like death.

★★★★★

By far, my favorite green tea! Very nutty and complex

★★★★★

The classic smoky tea - not too bitter of a green tea and not a burnt tasting smokiness. Great for blending with spearmint

★★★★☆

Good! Nice and smoky. I use it a lot in blends so I really wanted to make sure it tasted like it sounded and it does.

★★★★★

Very nice flavor and good for multiple steepings. Recommended.

★★★★★

I love gunpowder green tea. This one is no different! great taste!

★★★★★

Great general green tea. I plan to use this to blend with jasmine pearls for a honey green kombucha.

A very classic gunpowder! The smokiness isn't too much, just strong enough to punch up the green tea flavor without overpowering the smoothness.

★★★☆☆

Not as smoky a flavor as I was hoping, but overall a good green tea.

★★★☆☆

Smooth and smoky, with plenty of vegetal flavor. It was ok, but not one for me.

Excellent green tea. By far the best I've tried so far. Quite fold for a green without being super overwhelming.

A very reliable classic tea that tastes exactly how I remember it from my childhood.

This is my husband s favorite tea (along with White Monkey). He does mix it with various other teat flavors. However, it seems to be he favorite flavor!

★★★★★

This is my favorite green tea. May be a required taste for some. It has a nice smoky taste.

★★★★★

this is a no- brainer in our pantry! Gotta have it! Any green tea lover would want to include this in their arsenal!

★★★★☆

I enjoy this tea. I'll need to try more green teas to develop points of comparison if I want to give a more detailed review, but I have no complaints.

This tea has a hearty body, and tastes fresh and earthy. If I'm looking for something a little bit more substantial for an afternoon lift, I'd pick this!

★★★★☆

very straight forward green tea. Very flavorful dark hints

★★★★★

It's become my go-to as far as green tea from adagio goes. Brews quickly and maintains a nice taste when chilled.

★★★★★

My all-time favorite green tea. Very hearty and earthy - great with a savory meal. I also like to mix it with peppermint or spearmint for a bold Moroccan Mint-style blend. May be steeped up to for times.

★★★☆☆

Is not very flavorful. I was not a fan. Thought it was only the sample, but the small package I bought also had minimal flavor.

★★★★★

It's always the one that I reach for when I'm sick. It's cool and goes well with any honey

★★★★★

A good strong green tea. My favorite to wake up with in the morning.

★★★★☆

I loved this green tea and was actually about to order a bigger bag. I decided to look around on the website first and decided to buy a sample of the Sleeping Dragon. So glad I did! It's so much better than this tea.

★★★★★

I love this tea. I was expecting it to taste alot stronger then it did and I was a little hesitant. I love this tea!

★★★★★

Nice smokey, strong flavour to it. It is a good tea to have with dinner.

★★★☆☆

The most recent batch of gunpoweder , had too many twigs :(

★★★★★

Great value. You'll get the best flavor if you pour a small amount of hot water over the leaves and dump that water out, then steep normally with the rest of your hot water.

★★★★★

This tea is one of my faves. Just a nice slightly smoky cup of tea.

★★★★★

Gunpowder green is a really good tea. Better hot than iced. Tea leaves are just as good on a second or third steep.

★★★★★

very good gunpowder tea, but I would go with the sleeping dragon over this

★★★★★

Very solid gun powder tea. A solid contender. My daily go to tea.

★★★☆☆

It's okay, but maybe green tea just isn't my thing.

★★★★★

Smokey and smooth. A wonderful tea for mid morning or early afternoon. A good bargain in the world of green tea. Use one level teaspoon per cup, as the rolled leaves give you more tea per volume than other teas

My husband loves this one!!! He was looking for a replacement for his previous green tea. This ones is way better than the last one bought from a different supplier.

★★★★☆

This is a very good green tea. I'm not usually a green drinker, but I enjoy this on occasion.

★★★★☆

I'll admit I bought it for the name but I didn't regret it. Its interesting.

★★★★★

I was looking for a basic green tea. This one is awesome. I love it. I pair it a lot with spearmint.

Using for iced in a cafe setting- don’t need to use much and the price is great!

★★★★☆

I enjoyed thus, but I m not giving it a 5/5 for a few reasons. First, I ve never had gunpowder green before, so my opinion isn t well informed. Second, but related to the first point, it didn t open my eyes as it were.
I ll probably buy more at some point, but it s not at the top of my list.

Not as good as I expected...could not detect the usual smokeless of gunpowder

★★★★★

This green tea tastes different, in the best way, from most other green teas that I have tried. It has a deeper, smokier flavor versus the grassier taste of a lot of green teas. Delicious.

This is always one of my favorite teas and Adagio doesn't disappoint. Earthy, grassy, a little smoky. I'm one of those strong tea folks, so it's got nice flavor for me, too.

★★★★☆

I really enjoy this tea alone, however, my favorite is when combined with spearmint. :)

★★★★★

Fantastic! Give me that smoky green tea. Can be re-steeped and re-enjoyed :)

Well I ve studied teas and green tea is so powerful. That being said I love gunpowder

★★★★★

This is just a really good, simple, and enjoyable green tea.

★★★★☆

Very tasty but high in caffeine Would buy again.

★★★★☆

Good green tea! I wanted something with light caffeine to get me going in the morning. I'm very sensitive to it. This has the best level of caffeine for me. It's just enough without making me feel nauseated. However I prefer the one with the jasmine flavor! This is nice that's just my preference.
