My favorite green tea! Relaxing and good for before bedtime.
Classic Japanese green tea, blended with toasted, popped rice. Warm, nutty with a lovely savory and hearty quality.

My favorite green tea! Relaxing and good for before bedtime.
The description of this tea didn't sound very good; however, my coworker who had lived in Japan had a stash of genmai cha (from a different company). I found it to be exceptional! The genmai cha from Adagio is my everyday green tea. It has a robust character that I've not found on any other green tea. Even gunpowder doesn't have the same character as this. Highly recommended.
Good quality genmai cha. Not so sure that the popcorn added anything. I needed a little more puffed rice sometimes to balance the green tea taste. Every scoop is a little different. So the next cup would probably be better. I do like the nutty smell.
This is my favorite tea out of all the teas. The brown rice adds such a great taste. It's perfect.
Very strange. But pretty good. Nothing I'd drink every time, but an intriguing change. Don't even botehr trying to brew a second batch with it though.
Not as 'toasty' as I would like, but overall tasty and fairly priced.
i love relaxing at night with a cup of genmai cha. it is nutty and 'chewy' <-- if such a word can be used to describe a tea.
is this a tea? tastes like burnt rice cakes. interesting conversation piece though.
This was not my type of tea at all, I'm afraid. It tasted like noodle soup!
This is a truly distictive tea that I love. It has a great aroma that has my coworkers begging to try it.
Not exactly my favorite tea but a good one to have to mix it up every now and then. Originally, I didn't like it but after a while, it grows on you.
One of my favorite green teas. The popped corn and rice lends a heartier flavor.
this tea is fabulous ! i drink one cup every morning ... sometimes i add a bit of honey . it has a nutty flavor and a hint of popcorn does comes through ... OH BUT WHAT A BIT O'HONEY does for this , it's like a dessert ... mmmmmgoooood !
A real unique taste to it, not for everyone, but interesting.
Have an open mind! It's fabulous. I especially like it with a meal. I tasted tea like this in a Japanese restaurant and have finally found that taste again.
Very tasty, and I loved the little bits of popcorn in the mix!
A little odd. It tastes a lot like buttered popcorn, which, for me, was not a good thing.
I was worried based on some of the not-so-great reviews, but this tea pleasantly surprised me. It's not really an everyday variety for me, but I make a cup from time to time to mix things up.
Really tasty. I was quite surprised that rice and popcorn could add such flavor
Mellow nutty taste - it will make a nice winter tea, but in the end I enjoy the nutty taste of kukicha more. Still, a unique green tea.
I love the almost sizzling rice soup flavor of this tea. It's a favorite.
I personally like this tea, but the flavor is very unique and wont please everyone.
Intersting flavor. Not sure how much I like the popcorn flavor but its a nice light tea.
This was definately different. This was my first time trying something like this. You can really taste the popcorn and the brown rice. Good, but probably not something I would have everyday.
Average tea, not one of my favorites. Will not buy again
this is my favorite green tea. it has a complex, nutty flavor that I really love.
This is my favorite green tea and maybe even my favorite of all time. The nuttyness of the rice and the light popcorn taste you occasionally run across is really a nice touch to the cup. The rice really balances this tea out and it is easily one of the best everyday, any time green teas for me.
Great tea. Love the combination of green tea and the rice flavor.
Genmai cha is one of those funky teas that suit me once in a blue moon. I bought a sampler because I figured that was all I'd need. But I've got to say that, as genmai cha goes, Adagio's is terrific! The flavor is fresh and strong and fiesty, an earthy green with the popcorn and rice definitely noticeable.
Very different with the rice flavor. Not bad, but not my type.
you like taste of burnt popcorn than you really will enjoy this one. I can't call this a tea.
Even my sister, who normally hates tea, liked this one. I think it might be one of my favorites as well.
This is a good and light green tea. Great for someone just trying out green teas.
While not a staple tea for me it is a good once a week or so flaver
Ever have carmel popcorn? It's sort of like that, except with the distinct green tea hint. Not soothing but sweet.
My favorite tea that I have tried from Adagio. I am ordering 5oz right now. Has a delicious toasty flavor with a hint of popcorn. Truly a unique and delicious tea.
Wonderul aroma. Very different than average green teas.
One of my favorites. It smells wonderful and not bitter at all.
pretty good overall but I wish the base tea was a little more flavorful...somepots it gets overpowered by the rice and popcorn and I mix it with some sencha
One of my favorites! This tea just keeps growing on me. Adagio makes a very good quality vesion that i can easily get two infusions out of.
Interesting! I'd never had genmai cha before, so I can't compare it to other brands, but it's definitely unique and flavorful in my experience.
This one I have yet to warm up to, when people say it's different, they really mean it, it sort of tastes like green popcorn to tell the truth...
Just wasn't to my liking, had a real nutty flavor going and I couldn't really identify the green tea through it, but i could see others liking it
One of my new favorite greens! The popcorn adds a slightly malty flavor that blends wonderfully with the green. It smells and tastes great. I find it also helps to calm the stomach when I drink it. If you are looking for a green tea that is a little bit different, then I highly reccomend this.
This is definately an acquired taste. I thought I might like it (I like popcorn) but after several trys, just can't warm up to this one.
A very good genmai cha. I enjoy this tea thoroughly when I am in the mood for the popcorny flavor.
Like Nori. Interesting flavor but not a favorite. But a great conversation starter.
An absolute favorite tea. The vegtial flavor adss beautifully. Be cafeful not ot over steep this tea.
One of my favorite green teas, very light and nutty. It smells like popcorn when brewed and has a good flavor.
I really like drinking this particular green tea after a hearty meal.
