Love the popcorn in the green tea, it's a nice touch.

★★★★★

I love the savory quality both in taste and aroma. I have repurchased this in the large bag multiple times and the price is the best!

When I first tried this tea, I thought, 'It tastes like rice!' and I didn't think I liked it. The key is not to think of it as green tea. Think of it as roasted grain beverage. And as a roasted grain beverage, it's quite tasty. It really grew on me. I liked to dunk cookies in it. It's toasty and rice-y. Very easy to drink. And because of the sweetness of the rice, I only need half the amount of sugar that I normally take.

Toasty rice with traditional green tea is a classic flavor. Something about this tea reminds me of home. This is one of my ultimate comfort teas.

★★★☆☆

This tea is interesting in that it has a stronger flavor than I was expecting for a green tea.

★★★☆☆

If you like a woodsy or earthy flavor, this is for you.

★★★★★

This is my all time favorite green tea and I have a hard time finding it. I'm so glad I found it here And at such a great price. The taste is so wonderfully nutty and savory. I will most definitely be purchasing more! Thank you!!!

★★★★★

I expected this to be great. Spoiler alert... IT WAS. It was a bit grassy, but smoky, and the rice comes through for a quirky cup. I'm digging it.

★★★★★

Best green, different flavor (a little toasted bc of the rice)but fantastic!

★★★★☆

This is a good choice when you want a green tea that's a bit more on the hardy side.

★★★☆☆

I'm really disappointed. I wanted to like this so much after reading some of the reviews. unfortunately, my taste buds just didn't care what I wanted. Green tea after soaking rice cakes in it. That's what it essentially is and that's what it tastes like. If it were this or nothing, would I drink it? Yes I would and maybe after a time I would develop a taste for it. Now is not that time though.

I've never had a genmai so I didn't really know what to expect, I love the rice cake taste and smell of this tea. It's become a new favorite!

I enjoy genmai cha as a breakfast tea (though I'll drink it all day too!) because it is a very satisfying tea and helps put me in a good mood for the day. This genmai cha is very good, especially considering the price and convenience.

★★★★☆

A friend brought me this tea from Japan so I was glad to find out I can get it here. Smells lovely and tastes really good.

★★★★★

This tea has a kind of popcorn flavor that is really good in my opinion. That is the only way I can describe it. I will definitely be ordering more.

★★★★★

This is the perfect tea for a rainy fall day. The nutty scent and taste from the toasted rice reminds me of the first time I had it in a Japanese restaurant. Just lovely.

★★★★☆

Interesting toasty flavor. Very different but enjoyable cup of tea. The aroma is mingled of strange until the tea is tasted. I would not drink this all of the time, but it would be a good tea for days when I'm in the mood for something unique.

★★★★☆

This tea's strong leafy scent made me worried that the flavor would be too much for my tastes, but it was actually very pleasant. It's definitely worth a try if you're interested in green teas.

★★★★☆

Hearty and vegetal. Smells great. I like to drink this tea with curry or stews.

★★★★★

Love this tea. The rice gives it a nice roasted or nutty flavor. Soooo good. The rice gets mushy if it sits so clean up can be a bit of a pain. But it's so worth it.

★★★★★

This tea has an excellent balance of light, grassy, smooth green tea with wonderful, warm, and nutty toasted rice.

★★★★☆

This tea has an interesting nutty flavor. I love the popcorn and toasted rice! It reminds me a lot of Chinese barley tea, which is said to be good for the appetite. I like to steep this genmai cha for just 2 minutes. otherwise, I find that the flavor becomes bitter and dry. A little sugar is good.

★★★★☆

I think any complaints I have on this tea actually are my own fault, easy to oversteep! I like to mix this with matcha in the morning for a pick me up and energy morning. Very strong.

★★★★★

It was explained to me in the store at Old Orchard that this is the formerly called Popcorn Green Tea. I love this for the light yummy taste, it is one I make everyday. Smells like a treat, not a sweet flavor, more savory. My only criticism is that it is more expensive than the other green teas we buy. The store can also give you recipes on how to mix flavors to jazz up your cup of tea.

★★★☆☆

Very unique flavor. It tastes like rice and popcorn. Not my favorite.

★★★★★

This tea really does taste like air popped popcorn! It may not be the tea for everyone but I enjoyed the savory tea. Unique flavor, slightly savory. I don't know how this stacks up to other Genmai Cha teas, but it is a tea i hope to explore more.

★★★★★

THIS is a truly DELIGHTFUL tea. Sipping it is pure heaven. It has a warm, toasty flavor with a clean finish and pleasant, calming aroma. I highly recommend this to all tea drinkers - novice to expert!

★★★★★

This is one of the best green teas I have ever had! I have never tried genmai cha before, but I am so glad that I did. It's both refreshing and has a nice toasty aftertaste that I love. I will definitely purchase this again.

I love this tea! The toasted rice smell is kind of odd, but the taste is good enough that I didn't even bother trying to add anything to it. It's a little like drinking a rice cake, only you get to skip out on the weird rice cake styroform texture. I may use this as a 'snacking avoidance' tea.

I tried multiple infusions. The first two were pretty good, but the third was noticeably weaker. I'll probably try a longer third infusion next time, or just stick to two.

Not something I will get again. To me it was like liquid popcorn flavor with a Kentucky Bluegrass after taste.

★★★★★

Such an unique tea, I love it. The toasted rice is such a wonderful taste companion to the green tea.

★★★★★

Delicious in every way. I would be careful about oversteeping it though, it gets bitter very quickly.

★★★★★

This one took some getting used to, but i've come to like it. The roasted aroma is nice.

★★★★★

I think this tea is delicious. I love the nutty, buttery flavor that the toasted rice adds to the green tea. Very tasty!

★★★★★

This tea tastes like rice cakes... only delicious because it doesn't have that horrible texture. I loved it.

★★★★★

I love Genmai Cha, it is very different due to the savory quality. It's my go-to afternoon 'snack'! The toasty, smokey rice is such a great scent and flavor, it just becomes a craving!

★★★★☆

Refreshing, popcorny, great lunchtime tea, especially with sushi!

★★★☆☆

This tea isn't for me. I had been interested in trying it as I had never had a genmai cha style tea before, but I did not like the taste or the lingering aftertaste. I'm glad I tried it, but I'll stick with some of the other teas I've tried and really liked.

★★★★☆

I like the taste the rices gives this tea, nutty and just a little bitter but honey helps tone that done.

★★★★★

I LOVE this tea!!! The toasted and popped rice make this a very interesting tasting tea! I often like to add a little extra plain green tea to this for an extra boost but perfect on its own! It's rich, nutty and smells like popcorn. I could drink this over and over again!

I love this tea. It tastes just like the deliciously hot green tea served in good Japanese restaurants. I can drink cup after cup and still want more.

★★★★☆

I ran out of my preferred brand of genmai cha, and decided to try this one. It has a nice full, flavor, but it's a bit on the sweet side for some reason. Not necessarily bad, but not what I was looking for.

★★★★☆

A nutty and tasty green tea. One of our favorite go-to greens.

★★★★★

The smell of rice gives this tea a very homely and distinct aroma

★★★☆☆

tastes like your standard genmaicha but is more expensive than i am used to paying for this type of tea

★★★★☆

This tea tastes like popcorn! I tried it because a friend recommended it, after I mentioned I was looking to try something different. It is like nothing I ever tried before. It's a great tea to sip unsweetened, while relaxing after a long day.

★★★★★

I hadn't had genmai cha in a few years, but adagio sent a sample, and I'm so happy they did. This is delicious. Light, nutty, with that solid base of earthy green tea. It's a wonderful tea to drink first thing in the morning.
