This was one of the first four flavors of tea that my wife and I tried. We could not drink it. We knew going into the tea venture that we would like some and not others. This is one that not only tasted bad but smelled awful too. We really like the casablanca twist and lemon meringue.

Great flavor!! I bought this tea for first time five years ago and loved it!
After some research I found the same tea, but cheaper, on a different website and bought it. But compared to Adagio tea the quality was much lower and the flavor was not as rich. So now I'm only getting genmai tea from adagio, no more experiments :)
★★★☆☆
The Rice kinda overpowers the Tea in this Genmai. Pretty good though.

Interesting blend. I wasn't sure if I'd like it at first, as I'm not much for green tea, but I keep coming back to this one.
★★★★★
This tea is a long running favorite. The nutty sweetness imparted by the roasted rice is gorgeous both in smell and taste. Don't over brew, don't use too much tea per water, or it will be bitter.

Strong and delicious. Not as earthy as some of the others I have had. Has more of a grassy flavour.
★★★★★
This is an addictive tea which really his the spot when I'm feeling peckish.

I have been drinking genmai cha from various companies for years, and decided to try Adagio's. I was, frankly, blown away. There is a richness to this tea I've found no where else.
★★★☆☆
I thought this tea was foul but I chalk it up to my palate and not the tea itself. I passed this onto a coworker and they enjoyed it very much.

This genmai cha tea is above the rest. Very flavorful.

Genmaicha has quickly become one of my favorites. I particular like the unique roasted rice aroma and nutty flavor. It's a truly distinctive tea that I would recommend to any tea lover.
★★★★★
It was savory, nutty, with hints of that grassy green tea. I actually brewed some to use in a recipe in place of water. It was so very tasty.

This is a totally new style of tea for me, and greens are usually a bit too vegetal for my tastes, but I dig the roasty hints from the popped rice! I just wish I wouldn't get soggy so easily after the first steeping, even with a strainer that drains well. It's an interesting mix of clean and toasted melded together, making an otherwise simple tea quite complex!

Really cool smell and flavor in this tea. The grassy quality of the green tea is complemented by kind of a 'burnt popcorn' flavor. Has a nice toasty smell when brewed. I will likely order this again.

This tea I first discovered at my local sushi restaurant. I loved it so much I wanted to buy it for home and discovered adagio teas. It has a warm nutty flavor and I believe so good for you as a green tea. I would highly recommend.
★★★★★
got to try this as a sample and at first was unsure on if i would like it or not. It smelled good and toasty. when i made it i smelled wild rice and loved the earthy toasty flavor.
★★★★★
One of my all time favorites from Adagio. The nutty quality adds a wonderful oomph! to the green tea. Not only will I order it again, I'll be ordering it regularly.
★★★★★
I love to drink this at work. The rice gives it a delicious toasty flavor that remains through multiple steepings.
★★★★★
Great flavor, reminds me of the rice green teas they serve at traditional sushi restaurants. No sweetening needed.
★★★★★
As far as genmai-cha goes, can't go wrong here. Quality tea and rice with not too much popcorn.
★★★☆☆
In my humble opinion there is far too much rice in this mix. I've had Genmai Cha in sushi restaurants here in the U.S. and in Japan and it has always had much less rice. I'd like to know what kind of tea this is made with. I'd mix three parts of that green tea with one part of the Adagio genmai cha.

This is hands down my favorite tea. My Popo (chinese for grandmother) would pour tea into the rice pot if there was some burnt ends at the bottom of the pot. The smoked rice flavor with tea was almost exactly like this. She called it genmai cha, but translated it in english to 'rice soup'. This tea reminds me of my childhood.
★★★★☆
A lovely tea with a pleasant flavor, lighter than other green teas. It's not my favorite green tea, but it's nice to have around. The toasted rice definitely adds something different to the taste, so I'd absolutely recommend giving it a try!

Rice flavor is great but I wish there was more/richer green tea flavor also.

Just like at your favorite oval Japanese/sushi spot. I love this tea! Very relaxing
★★★★☆
This tea is fun to look at, with the beautiful large green leaves and the popped rice. I don't usually care for the vegetable taste of green tea, but because of the rich tradition of genmai cha I decided to give this a try. I found the green tea flavor tasty and the roasted rice made it a nutty, warm, earthy drink. I sweetened this with some amber rock sugar crystals.

My favorite! Great flavor and different from the normal green tea.

I love genmai cha tea, especially this one. I used to order from Teavana but theirs is pricy because they blend theirs with Gyokuro, a more expensive green. So, i started ordering from here, because I love the nutty tones from the toasted rice. You don't need an expensive green to have a good Genmai cha tea! This tea is awesome! It may be an acquired taste, but it has grown on me. I can usually get two steeps from it as well. -Erik

I knew I would come across a tea I would not enjoy but not this soon. The popped rice adds a flavor that's quite bitter. Not awful but nothing I will order again

Nice and smoky! I make a pot at breakfast and enjoy it through to early afternoon.
★★★★☆
It's a unique taste. Kind of like plain popcorn mixed with tea. The sales lady said it was a good tea if you knew you wouldn't be able to eat in a while. I'd agree with that statement.
★★★★☆
This is a very good genmaicha. I wish it were organic, but it is quite satisfactory.
★★★★★
I love this tea! It has that nice mellow toastiness from the popped rice, it has a vaguely sesame taste to it. The green is very woodsy, and lingers a bit. This is probably my favorite tea to make on absurdly cold days, it is very comforting.
★★★☆☆
Tasted like a slightly nutty green tea. Not a personal fan but not inherently bad.

Loved this tea and will definitely order again. The toasted rice gives an amazing added flavor to the tea.

I did not like this blend at all. I don't pick up any nutty or toasted notes. The green tea, which dominates the flavor, is extremely grassy and almost bitter. I had a hard time finishing my cup.

I did not care for this green tea at all. Honestly, it reminded me of dirty dishwater. Yuk!

Genmai cha's toasted and popped brown rice make it taste like a marshmallow without the sweet. It's a nice touch.

Fantastic quality and taste. Perfect with lunch or a quick afternoon pick me up. You might not love it after the first try, but don't throw out the bag. In a few days you will want it again!

One of my favorite teas. Flavor was very toasty and pleasant. The leaves (and rice) are good for as many as 4 steepings. Relatively easy to pversteep, I've found it's even ready in less than the 2 recommended minutes.

This is a fairly distinct flavor, but if you like your green teas more rich and nutty than grassy, you will probably love this. I do. Second steeping is usually better than the first, third and fourth steepings are a bit weaker, fifth isn't usually worth it.

Reminded me of those tiny arare rice crackers, very savory. I didn't get bitterness at all. I liked this tea the best out of the ones I recently purchased.

While I am not a fan of this I randomly grab a small bag of this to gift to a very good friend of mine and she adores it!

I didn't like it. Taste is forgettable at best, doesn't worth money spent.

This is my favorite out of all the green teas I've tried, still being a newby to this company and green teas. It has a roasted nutty flavor from the brown rice. I feel I can drink this any time of day and it pairs well with everything.

this Tea is really good, nutty and toasty with a mouthwatering scent
