Love genmaicha! It is a very unique green tea with some awesome properties such as nuttiness and "full bodied" mouth feel.

One of my favorite greens because it does not have a 'weedy' taste. More of a nutty flavor which is delicious, especially with sushi. It has the added advantage of being relatively inexpensive.

I've come to be very fond of this tea over time so I increased from 4 to 5 stars. The reason is the lack of bitterness; the popcorn, etc. really buffer the after taste and it's a lovely smooth tea with relatively little acridity (of course it has some, it is a green tea). I usually steep it approximately a minute and a half (the timer to the side of this review box won't let me do fractions); I don't know the exact temperature, but it's in the green tea area on my electric pot.

This is the most reliably delicious and cost-effective green tea. The rice adds a toasty, savory flavor. We always have genmai cha on our shelf.

This is my all-time favorite tea! Yes, I confess that I am often tempted by the more exotic blends of fruits and herbs, but at the end of the day this is the one I keep returning to. I love the combination of the smooth green tea and the nutty flavor of the toasted rice.

It’s heaven in a cup!

This is a staple in my house. It’s a lovely green tea, with a rich nutty flavor note. It’s also very pretty.

Subtle and different. The warm notes of the puffed rice give it a mellow grained palate with just a hint of the grassy profile you get with green teas. So good I drank a whole pot to myself.

My first Gemma’s cha tea. It was an interesting experience. I didn’t hate it though

This tea really gets me going in the morning, and that energy boost stays with me throughout the day.

★★★★☆

I like it. Didn’t add any sugar because there’s a bit of a salty taste to it. The toasted rice really off set the green tea and it didn’t taste grassy or anything.

This is a very mild tea. It actually has a taste of rice which is not overwhelming and gives the tea a nice finishing touch to make it very unique.

★★★☆☆

Completely different from traditional green or red tea. Order a sample to see first if you like like this type of tea.

my favorite green tea!! has a popcorn-esque flavor from the rice. needs no sweetener. incredibly light, allows for multiple steeps. far better than the matcha genmaicha in my opinion

This tastes like wet popcorn and I don’t think I like it.

I really liked this tea, it's not quite like anything else I've tasted! The popcorn-like scent is very alluring, and it has a lovely mild and fresh taste on its own. With honey added, the popcorn notes are amplified and it somehow gains an almost salted caramel hint to it.

Probably my top favorite tea ever - the genmai cha from Adagio is incredible! So roasty and comforting, I could drink it every day. I like having it in place of coffee, it’s so good.

I absolutely love this tea! The toasted rice flavor is fantastic, and I can get 3-4 cups per teaspoon by re-steeping (increasing the time by a minute each steep).

My all time favorite Green Tea from Adagio! I buy it in the big bag. So good. I especially love to make it when we get Sushi to go. The popcorn/rice gives it a distinctive taste. I brew it at 180 for 3 minutes. Don’t over brew or it can get bitter.

One of the few green teas that I really like. It gets a nice extra flavor in the background from the cereal and is great for homemade milk tea

I really love this tea. The green tea is smooth and doesn't become bitter while the rice adds a nice almost popcorn flavor. Definitely becoming a part of the normal rotation. I actually like to let it steep longer to get more of the rice flavor.

I love this tea! My husband had a great suggestion that has made it even more delish. Add some honey and ginger root and this tastes just like a honey ginger rice cake!

★★★★★

Perfect flavor with some nutty tones. This is my go to more savory tea

Good quality Genmaicha with the distinctive toasty flavor and a grassy sencha base. I love this tea on its own or with a little matcha added to the tea strainer when brewing.

Reminiscent of a rice cracker; the scent of the tea is warm and nutty. You can hear the faint popping from the rice, a fun element to brewing this tea. Its color is a pale golden yellow like that of a sheer curtain. I tasted this tea first without honey, its toasty rice flavor comes through strongest followed by a fresh vegetal finish, it wasn't bitter at all, very refreshing and revitalizing. With a touch of honey added, the tea's color became more golden. To me, the honey enhanced the nutty flavor and a bit of the steamed veggie taste was lost. I really enjoy this tea and can see myself reaching for it often. Its the type of tea perfect for those not too hot days at the end of summer.

The bold, nutty flavor that the toasted rice adds to this style of tea has made genmai cha my favorite kind of tea. I drink it throughout the day at work. It's hard to describe a flavor as 'cozy' but this comes as close to that as anything else.

I ordered a sample of Genmai Cha because I was curious about the tea/rice combination--I'd never tried anything like it. Now it's a favorite! If I want to cut the sharpness of green tea and have a more 'substantive' tea experience, this is it! I enjoy the mellowness on a Friday morning in particular. The rice flavor is pleasant. I brew 3-4 minutes.

This is my husband's favorite tea. It's especially good with matcha honey to add a little depth of flavor and a bit of sweetness

★★★★★

I love, love, LOVE this tea! I drink it with honey for a little sweetness, but it's great without it as well. It's toasty and cozy and smells as amazing as it tastes.

So yummy Genmai cha is one of my favourite teas so when I saw it here I absolutely had to try it !! The flavour wasn’t super strong when I brewed it the first time but then I realized my infuser wasn’t giving it enough room so I used a bigger one and it was really nice

I love a good genmaicha and this one doesn't disappoint! It's good for 5+ resteeps and never gets bitter. It could be a *little* more flavorful compared to others I've tried so I docked a star.

Genmai cha was a discovery over the past few years. I had mostly had it in tea bags until this order from adagio. I really enjoy the freshness of the flavor coming from the loose leaf.

This one’s rich and toasty, and tastes great with just a little bit of honey. It might become a new favorite of mine 💞

Classic tea, this is a very unique tea and savory to be enjoyed with any meal. This is a great choice would recommend

★★★★★

This has become my go-to green tea. I steep it for 2 minutes, and it doesn't get bitter at all. The rice adds a nice toasty flavor, so it's great with savory meals.

2 min steep · 180°F

★★★★☆

Pretty good, but not quite as good, or authentic, as some others I've tried. It all comes down to the quality of the sencha that the tea is made from, and I get the sense that this one is fairly cheap. One advantage is that there is a lot of rice are fewer stems in this tea compared to others. Overall not bad.

★★☆☆☆

I am certain this is just personal preference and that this isn't actually a bad tea, but I found it practically undrinkable. The only thing I taste is popcorn. Slightly burnt, lightly buttered popcorn. Which unfortunately isn't a flavor I want to drink. The first Adagio tea that I really disliked.

I love Genmai cha with the toasted, popped rice. The flavor is so unique with a nutty flavor. I don’t like plain green tea but this one is great!

★★★★★

This tea is like popcorn in a cup! I love sweet-savory foods, and this definitely fills the bill; my very favorite tea. Thank you, Adagio!

★★★★★

Delightfully toast and delightfully grassy. Prefer the one with match but this is a cleaner, lighter taste.

I didn't expect this to be so nutty tasting. I am pleasantly surprised by how much I like the toasted brown rice. Makes it a nice compliment to savory food. Good to have with dinner.

The best! I love the unique rice flavor that this tea has. Usually I prefer to take my tea with sugar, but with this I never see the need to use it.

★★★★★

A wonderful tea with a nutty popcorn flavor and the smoothness of green tea. It is my morning go to, with minimal caffeine.

★★☆☆☆

I really tried to like this, but I've tried several times and it just tastes like wet unsalted unbuttered popcorn.
