This is a very interesting tea that really does taste like popcorn. I enjoy this tea almost every day.

★★☆☆☆

I am not a fan of this type of tea. It is not for me.

★★★☆☆

Very interesting green tea blend. I like the popcorn flavor and smell but it overpowers the tea a bit.

It has a very unique flavor, like overcooked Rice Krispies, but it's partof the charm.

I think this is very similar to the version with matcha. I'd like to do a side by side comparison. Enjoyable for me as I'm a fan of green tea and the toasted rice gives it a savoryness.

Super surprised by this—the puffed rice really makes this taste like cereal in the best way possible.

★★★★★

Very interesting green tea mix. I enjoyed the toasty aroma and taste of the toasted rice. A Mild flavour. I enjoyed with honey.

One of my favorite green teas; toasty rice tea. Classic.

★★★★★

A most unusual green tea. Not at all grassy. I get a toasted nuttiness from the rice that somewhat overpowers the cup.

Update 4/12/24: On second taste, I've enjoyed the toasted quality of this tea much more! Reminiscent of popcorn.

Love this tea...and also the Matcha and Masters' Shincha version! I add just a skosh of rock crystal sugar to balance the notes and make it yummy!

One of my all time favorite flavors in and brand, and adagio does it right. Delicious.

The description is really spot on. It has a distinctive nuttiness in flavor and is a very savory cup of tea. It has a lot of nice qualities and could easily be a favorite for individuals looking for something like it, but for me it is just an okay that I could take or leave.

This is my first taste of today's tea. I was pleasantly surprised. I added a teaspoon of simple syrup to it. That little bit of sweetness made it taste like sipping kettle corn! And I love kettle corn. Popcorn is one of my favorite snacks.

Not for me. Not sure if I oversteeped this, or if the temp was too high, but the aroma and first sip gave me the distinct flavor of those mochi seaweed rice crackers. Very savory, not a flavor I really enjoy first thing in the morning. Might have been better with sweetener, but I honestly didn’t try it.

4/12/24 Communitea: Hoouf. I don't think this is a tea for me personally, but again, I can see the appeal. The liquor is dark amber and very savory, with a smooth and thick feel, a bit buttery. It's almost like drinking a vegetable broth made with Rice Chex, which I suppose it kind of is. It's not bitter or astringent at all, but it's sure not sweet either. If you like drinking savory beverages, like if olive oil coffee appeals to you? I bet you'd like this. But a typical green tea this is not!

★★☆☆☆

Good: it doesn't taste like a typical grassy green tea.
Less good: it smells and tastes like the burnt rice you scrape off the bottom of a pan you let sit too long on the stove.
Steeped 3 min at 180ishº

One of my top 5 fave teas. The popcorny flavor and slight grassyness really works for me. I always cold brew this one at least overnight.

I think this tea is great. It tastes like Japanese senbei, which I love.

So many other reviews have summed this up better than I can. It’s hit-or-miss for me since I have to be in the mood for puffed grains in my tea, but I recently tried it with a bit of green tea honey and it was reminiscent of cereal I had growing up (insider tip for those who don’t like savory teas). Definitely worth a try if you’ve never experienced it.

I was surprised to try this because I didn't think rice was gonna make a good cup of tea. But, the rice brings out a nutty flavor that's sure to appeal to most people

This tea is a very unique blend of green tea and nuttiness. They mingle ever so well with a refined nutty taste of sesame seed oil and the the brightness of green tea. This might not be my favorite blend or one i will order, but it is a delightful cup that I will enjoy to savor when it's available to drink.

Genmai Cha is one of my favorite perpetrations and this hits the mark perfectly. The nuttiness of the rice gives a new depth to the usual nuttiness of the green tea.

This tea has a beautiful nutty flavor. I was pleasantly surprised when I tried it and have added it to my tea drawer as a go to on a cold dreary day.

You know how you go to Japanese restaurants and they serve green tea while you're waiting for your food? This tea tastes exactly like that and transports me to a relaxing time with friends. I highly recommend this tea for a zen experience.

Genmai Cha is one of my favorite teas and this one is a great one. I am able to get two infusions with out of this blend.

★★★★★

I love how 'grassy' it is? You can taste the roasted rice, and altogether it kind of has a seaweedy taste in my opinion. Very earthy and delicious. I like it by itself but it is also very very good sweetened with some cream/milk.

★★★☆☆

Not my tea. I wanted more green tea to rice. I didn't get a whole lot of flavor from this tea

Delicious, would highly recommend! The popcorn adds the 'cooked' flavor to the tea, rounding or the matcha. I also like it cold steeped.

Pretty good genmaicha (rice green tea) overall. Depending on how long you let it brew you can get a wide variety of 'popcorn' or 'rice' flavor, or more of the green tea part. Pretty fun green tea if you haven't tried it.
