Nutty and delicious, different than a plain green tea.
Nutty and hearty. The toasty rice cuts the grassiness of the green tea.
It's kind of like drinking rice krispies, in the best way possible. Love it!
This tea really hits the spot. Smooth green tea with the perfect balance of puffed rice flavor. Reminds me a bit of rice crispies. It's about half green tea which is perfect for those of us that are sensitive to caffeine but like to indulge in multiple cups. Always want this on hand.
This green tea is delicious. It has a warm & toasty flavor and no strong grassiness. I will repurchase for sure.
I love this. That mix of rice, tea taste is unique and as nice as at a Japanese restaurant
Tastes like popcorn tea. I guess that's what it said it was, but... yeah, that's what it is.
A long time favorite 'popcorn tea'. my mom loves this one
This is my favorite green tea and I drink it both hot and cold.
I found a pair of Japanese style stoneware barley tea cups in the back of the cabinet, which inspired me to finally open the sample of genmai cha I'd been saving and give it a shot. The result was a deeply satisfying and refreshing brew that would be wonderful with Japanese or Southeast Asian takeout, or even on its own!
Adagio's genmai cha is my current favorite tea. There's enough toasted rice to provide perfect flavor to the smooth green tea. I steep this twice: once for 3 minutes for my first morning cup, then again for an extended steep to have it iced later in the day. The longer steep lets the roasted rice flavor strengthen.
this is a little bit of a unique green tea. It has a really nice kind of nutty flavor because of the toasted rice, and it also makes an amazing iced tea in the summertime. I always feel refreshed when I drink genmai cha.
I love this tea. One of my favorites. It has the right balance of green tea and toasted rice. It is a go to for me.
I first purchased this tea in 2008, then fell off the tea wagon for a few years, came back, rinse, repeat. This past year I was wracking my brain thinking, 'What was that amazing, toasty, earthy green tea that I loved and that reminded me of my favorite cracking rice soup?'. Lo and behold, it was the Genmai Cha! This is the tea that ALWAYS brings me back to Adagio, and always will. Truly unique! Does well with a second infusion too, for a lighter palette.
I personally was not a fan of this tea. It was too nutty for my liking and tasted almost bitter.
I give it one star only because it’s not my “cup of tea” blahahahaha. It’s earthy. Not was I was looking for but I thot it sounded interesting and wanted to try it. I passed it on to my mom who LOVES it.
The best Genmai Cha quality ever. The taste is wonderful.
This tea is full of flavor. I enjoyed the popped rice and toasted flavors. Green tea in general is hit or miss for me. If you enjoy a toasted/nutty tea, go for this. I did not enjoy this the first time I had it but it has become a staple for me!
This might be my current favorite! Bright and slightly grassy, with a beautiful nutty toasted flavor from the rice. The pieces of popcorn give me a kick too. Great for when you want something more 'savory', I enjoy this tea as is (no sweetener or add ins). The toasted flavor really hits the spot.
This is such an interesting tea! I loved the smell of it right away, both in the bag and after brewing. The flavor is nutty, warm, and very cozy. Maybe it’s just my imagination because I associate the smell with popcorn but I believe it has the lightest buttery/salty taste right at the end of a sip. I will definitely be buying this again.
I really like this tea! I originally purchased it in bags and liked it so much I ordered a small bag. Since they didn't have my 'regular' tea, this will be alternating with Irish Breakfast until, at least, July. I really love the toasty aroma.
The flavor of this is nice, toasty and warm. Just not for me.9
Adagio has a really good Genmai Cha. The popcorn makes the tea taste very toasty. Don’t overstep it though.
I've purchased Genmai cha from different places all over the world but continue coming back to this one. It's smooth and addictive.
This tea is one of my favorites! It has a nice toasty and nutty flavor.
I’m personally a fan of the nutty, rice-y flavor in green teas. Genmai Cha is my absolute favorite!
Perfect cup of tea to go with my meals. My favourite rice tea <3
This is a really good tea. I really like it a lot.
Surprizing flavor! I love the range of flavors in this tea. Now a staple for me.
This is my first tea that I ordered from Adagio, and I'm very impressed by the strong toasted rice flavor and very pleasant flavor with the green tea.
Very classic Genmai Cha, nutty flavor, good for an afternoon tea.
Genmaicha is one of my favorite teas, and this one lives up to my expectations.
This one was delicious! Will be ordering again.
love it, has a toasty light taste, it kind of smells and taste like plain popcorn
Genmaicha is always a staple in my stash in early Springtime. The green tea reminds me that warm weather and sunshine is on its way, but the roasty, toasty rice keeps me cozy on those cold, drizzly mornings.
Interesting earthy flavor with a touch of popcorn. Very calming to me & pairs well with Asian cuisine.
Genmai cha is my favorite green tea. I love the toasty flavor imparted by the roasted rice and popcorn. We always make a pot of this to accompany sushi take-out.
I ordered a sample size of this tea and immediately regretted not ordering a full size after trying my first cup. This tea is delicious and smooth. The roasted flavor really comes through and perfectly smooths out the tea which is not the slightest bit bitter or astringent.
This is a perennial favorite of mine. I love it and can drink it all day long! I love green teas anyway, but the popped rice adds a dimension of fun.
One of my absolute favorite teas. I love the toasty flavor, but it might be overpowering for some. I mix it with a little Dewy Cherry if I want a fruity kick added to it. I find it very versatile!
This is a great, easy to drink tea! The toasted rice flavor comes through strong, and the green tea blends very nicely with it. It's easy to drink and the toasty flavors are comforting.
Such a good tea! I originally tried Numi s Toasted Rice tea and fell in love, but wanted something loose leaf. I found this while searching and it is so good. I love the warm nuttiness to it. One of my favorites for morning or to go with a meal.
Such a lovely tea with the nuttiness of the roasted rice
Genmai Cha is a go to for my green tea. There are others I like, but something about the toasted rice adds a nutty flavor that leaves me wanting it again. It is amazing that a tea created during a shortage turned into something so goo.
I utterly love this tea; the smell and the taste are very comforting,
I steep for the recommended time but I do not have s as fine of control over the temperature of the water. I do not add anything additional to this tea, it is good without it.
Outstanding! Love that combination of toasted rice and green tea. Highly recommend
This is one of my favorite teas. The toasted rice gives a warm, nutty flavor to the green tea.
Reminds me of evenings with Asako toasted rice and full flavored green tea.
I was not a fan. Purely personal preference, of course, but I didn’t like the savory quality of this tea.
Japanese greens are not my favorite; I prefer Chinese. But I do enjoy this tea. Every now and then I just enjoy a cup of this green tea.
