My absolute favorite, I discovered it through the advent calendar. It’s a freest tea to enjoy on its own
One of China's most famous teas, from Hangzhou in Zhejiang province. Distinctive flattened leaf shape gives the tea an inviting, toasty aroma. Sweet rounded flavor, like freshly roasted white corn. Nutty, buttery texture, pleasantly dry finish.

My absolute favorite, I discovered it through the advent calendar. It’s a freest tea to enjoy on its own
A really lovely green, one of my favorites from Adagio. Delicately sweet, with just that little pleasant edge of grassy/herbiness. Does well on a second brew, too, a little bit grassier but not at all bitter or astringent (in either brewing). Pricy as Adagio goes, but more than fair for a really nice green.
Love, love, love this. Earthy flavor yet very refreshing.
I enjoyed Dragonwell green tea. I tried it as a sample.
Nice light tea, was expecting a more powerful taste
A good, basic green tea for beginners or people who are on the fence about green teas. Has a smooth nuttiness, with minimal astringency or seaweed flavor. Good for multiple re-steeps
This is a spectacular tea. The color is a pale green and the flavor is exceptionally delicate--grassy, but extremely mild and palatable even to those who aren't accustomed to drinking green teas. There is a pleasant floral note to the flavor as well, and almost no astringency to speak of. Compared to the other teas on this site, it is a bit of a splurge, but well worth it!
Good but just not my favorite. I prefer a pearled green tea. For those who enjoy a very light green tea, this one will do nicely!
Dragonwell, humble name for such a good, amazing, and brilliant tea! Dragon well, if dragons drank from wells, they would sip this tea. The well would be such that they could breathe their fire and steep it just right! Dragons are so cool. If I were sick and drank this tea, I would be Dragonwell in no-time!
One of my favorites from Day one. Has a good robust taste and a very welcome pick me up to start off my busy day
Delightfully buttery green tea that I loved immediately.
This tea is an impeccable example of what a great green tea can be like. It is a light grassy green that has a bit of nuttiness and sweetness.
My go-to everyday tea. Grassy and mild, leaves my mouth feeling clean and refreshes my mind. Great for days when I need to really get down to work.
Very Floral. It's OK. Not my favorite but I like it enough to finish the bag. Don't know if I'd order again
This is another tea I have found thanks to the sample packs you can get that I love from Adagio. I enjoy the flavor and even adding honey it taste great.
Very good! Not a personal favorite but a good green for when you’re having a bad day and need a little something extra.
One of the better green teas I've had here. Very mild. Not too earthy. Light in color. No sweetener needed.
Its mild aromatic flavor is always my favorite type of tea. One of the best quality teas you can find.
I'm late to liking this one. I initially tried it as part of the Green Teas Portion Sampler. Perhaps I confused it with a different tea in the box because I had the impression that I didn't like it. Well, whatever confusion happened then, I now find it a lovely nutty green tea. It has a distinctive taste to it, but it's not as though it is a flavored tea-- just great straight green tea. I had to give it another try simply because many others seemed to think it better than Sleeping Dragon-- a tea I love. It's not usual for me to truly dislike a tea which others generally find pleasing. Well, glad I did. A new treat for me. :)
Very pleasant aroma like fresh hay, flavour almost reminiscent of sencha, but milder, markedly less astringent. Greatly deserving of its very cool name.
This dragonwell is the tea that I drink more often than any other tea. Dragonwells are my favorite and I've tried several dragonwells from several different stores. This is quite easily the cost champion as it is better than many dragonwells costing much more.
A very nice green tea, if not a super exciting one. I like having this around though it's not my go-to favorite.
A well-balanced green tea. I added half a teaspoon of honey to add just a touch of flavour and sweetness, but often I drink it plain without any honey or sugar added.
I cannot drink strong tea. Dragonwell is the perfect tea for me. I steep it for a short period of time and can have several cups from the same batch. The flavor is delicious and it smells heavenly.
As far as green tea goes, I generally don't get Chinese greens. I remember liking dragonwell more than most when I bought a sampler in the past, though I was less impressed this time around. Hard to say exactly what the issue is. Seems to require a relatively long brew to develop the flavor.
Grassy and toasted ...I was very pleased with this tea. It's a beautiful, light yet complex cup of green for a late morning.
Well balanced and full of flavor. A good dragonwell experience.
This is a very nice green tea for a cool, damp afternoon, perhaps to go with a good book. It's grassy and very slightly acidic.
This is one of my top 3 favorite green teas. I brew it for no longer than two minutes and it comes out light but with a delicious nutty buttery taste. I love it❣️
This is my go to green tea. Love the mild, toasty, warm flavor. I don't add anything to this tea since it's perfect as is.
Really nice. Fun appearance, nice cheerful color, and flavor is just perfect. Nothing else to say about it.
Today's CommuniTea packet is dragonwell. I'm surprised I haven't reviewed it before. I probably can't do it justice today. I recall thinking it was grassy in the past, but I'm very congested and can't smell or taste much of anything today. It's very smooth on my tongue however and the heat is soothing to my throat on the way down. Brewed in 12 ounces of 180-degree water for about two minutes.
It was an enjoyable tea. Just the mild earthy flavor.
This tea was not for me. It was way to grassy. It mellowed a bit as it cooled but not one I’ll try to resteep. CT 5/10/23 2.8 g at 175 for 2 minutes.
Dragon well was quite nice; very bold but smooth.
a really pleasant green tea. not super light with a nice toasty flavor to it
Toasty, and savory but not as overwhelming vegetal as many of it counterparts, a delicious green which was very nice with 1/2 tsp of honey.
Full disclosure: I'm not much of a green tea drinker. At all! BUT, I found myself being completely blown away by this tea! I believe it has to do with the description saying 'roasted white corn'. I think I'm falling in love with green tea that has the puffed rice or roasted white corn flavor! I just couldn't get enough of this one. I even attempted a fourth watered down steep! I can't help but to add sweetner to mine in order to tame my sweet tooth so I did. This tea doesn't have that grassiness taste that I detect with most other teas and its perfectly smooth with a delicious buttery sweet corn taste. This tea holds my number one favorite in the category for green tea.
I love the leaves on this tea. I have had this many times before but haven't reviewed it until now. This is a simple green tea. Not too overly grassy and on the light side.
I can't believe I've never reviewed this tea! I guess its cause I keep buying sample sizes of it... But I LOVE this tea! Its such a nice toasty green! Not too grassy, definitely buttery
I found the first steep of this tea to have an unpleasant taste. The second and third were okay green tea flavors but nothing special. Just not my cup of tea I guess. I steeped at 175 degrees for 2 minutes 15 seconds the first time and then 1 minute 30 seconds for the other two. I added nothing.
Smooth almost buttery taste, goes down easy with a bit of honey
CommuniTEA portion: 180 for 2-1/2 minutes. How have I not reviewed this? Dragonwell is one of my top teas and Adagio's is a fantastic quality. Fresh, grassy, wonderful!
I’m not a fan of most green teas, which is why I can’t give this a five. It gets a four instead of a three because the grass/seaweed tendency that overwhelms many greens for me is toned down here. It still has that more savory broth mouth feel to it, but I can tell this is a decent quality green if you like green.
My first few sips were “meh”. I didn’t love it but also didn’t hate it. I love most of my teas straight but I thought I’d give this one some help and added a smidgen of honey. To my surprise the honey definitely helped the taste!
This is a very good green tea. No grassiness or vegetal taste. A hint of sweetness on its own. Holds its own without sweetener.
This tea is ok, it nice earthy tea.☕️🫖It light green tea and very smooth.
First sniff: smells vaguely of asparagus and nori and sesame
First Steep: 2.5 mins @ 180
First sip no sweetener still hot; very vegetal, minerally, but not grassy, mellow creamy mouthfeel.
Added 1 splenda and allowing to cool to room temperature as it’s a bit too vegetal for me while this hot, hoping it settles as others have noted.
If I liked green teas, I can imagine liking this one, but it’s a taste that I'm not likely to grow into over a few short sips. I’m not sure if the sweetener helped or hindered, as now it tastes like sweet nori I enjoy toasted nori, with sashimi in between, I like miso soup. This reminds me very much of both those flavors. I'm just not accustomed to them as my beverage of choice. I like the mouthfeel very much, I'm just not diggin the fishy/nori/sesame thing.
MAY 10, 2023: Well, this is certainly an interesting tea for me. I brewed it at 175 for 2 minutes (my travel kettle doesn’t have a 180 setting). I didn’t want to overdo it because I’m not a fan of green teas in general. My first sip was not at all what I wanted. Initially the flavor was pretty grassy. I didn’t want to leave a bad review until I let it sit a bit. The longer it sat, the less grassy it became. The flavors I noted were toasty and very slightly sweet. I’m still ambivalent about it but it’s not a definite no for me. I think it would okay on a once in awhile switch up, but I’m more a fan of flavored black teas. I’m glad for the chance to try it.
I'm not partial to green teas, though I do enjoy the CommuniTEA and earnestly try every new tea with an open mind. This green was light and had a very smooth, almost savoury, umami-ish mouthfeel. There were faint nutty notes to it that reminded me of plain popcorn.
