Just as described, a lightly toasted tea. It reminds me of a Korean corn husk tea my Grandma would make when I was a kid, which brought back fond memories of her.
One of China's most famous teas, from Hangzhou in Zhejiang province. Distinctive flattened leaf shape gives the tea an inviting, toasty aroma. Sweet rounded flavor, like freshly roasted white corn. Nutty, buttery texture, pleasantly dry finish.

Just as described, a lightly toasted tea. It reminds me of a Korean corn husk tea my Grandma would make when I was a kid, which brought back fond memories of her.
This is a delicious green tea which, if not brewed too long or at too high of a temp, has an amazing amount of linalool with the most delicious citrus note. Absolutely outstanding. No bitterness, no grassiness.
This tea is a springtime magic! Light, grassy, and hints of sweetness. The leaf is top tier quality. I highly recommend it!
A very nice green tea with no aftertaste or bitterness.
I like this. A good basic green tea to enjoy. Not sure how to measure by tsp with how long the leaves are, so I'd say I do a pinch. Less with a longer steep
Delicate green tea with notes of sweet hay. Pretty good flavor with unique roasted notes.
Very delicate flavor profile makes this green tea a star on its own, but far too delicate to pair with any tea biscuits. It’s flavor is very good, just…subtle
newly obsessed. favorite green I've ever had. the gentle earthiness to it wasn't overwhelming but rather very grounding. has a toasted nut flavor that is very pleasing. I typically add cream to my tea but this truly doesn't need any. will be buying a large bag soon.
I liked the tea. I will order again. Thank you!!!
Smooth, bright and subtly earthy. This tea is fantastic on its own, or blended with another green (I did 50/50 dragonwell and jasmine)
I have enjoyed this tea. I got into the habit of steeping peppermint with my green tea in the morning. This combines well with peppermint.
This mellow tea is buttery and malty, with only slightly grassy notes at 2 minutes. I could see it getting more grassy if brewed 3 minutes. It's a very light tea in both color and taste.
I love how smooth the dragonwell tea is, it's just a little bit nutty with a dry aftertaste. It is my good to in the morning when I just want to relax before starting my day.
Love the buttery nutty, non-grassy flavor of this green tea!
It tastes like true green tea. I enjoy this tea in the morning. Because it gives me the wake up. I need without giving me the jeters.
This is a very good non-grassy green tea! I find it roasty, and nutty when it’s hot, but it gets almost a little fruity as it cools
This was a pretty good green. I added nothing to the cup and followed brewing instructions. I will start with what I liked about this tea. The texture is amazing so buttery so pleasant. I also absolutely love the background flavors so much though I wish they were the main players here the mineral background and the sort of toasted bordering on malt flavor that I wanted to tease out a little more. The one thing I didn't like was it was just a bit too grassy for my personal taste. If I could tone down that just a bit this would definitely be a cabinet staple for me. Going to try a second steep to see if that flavor takes a backseat to the ones I like. Either way good tea and I am glad to have tried it, would still recommend to green tea lovers. 180° 3 min
Pale gold in the glass, this is a buttery, grassy tea that is quite pleasant. 185F for three minutes.
Buttery and delicious, overall a very solid green.
Didn't think I would enjoy it but I was so surprised when I took the first sip. It's so smooth and I greatly enjoyed it.
A great green, which I like... buttery, slightly nutty, good grassy smell... a great smooth rolling flavor profile
Incredibly grassy on the nose fresh out of the package. This steeps quickly, with a really earthy and smooth flavor. Not as buttery as some other greens and oolongs I've had, but it doesn't get very bitter when steeping, which is a big plus for me. This is a bright tea, great for afternoons and with big resteep value.
April ‘25: didn’t get the temp right but still enjoyed. Has a kind of lightly savory ‘chicken broth’ thing going on in fragrance. Toasty rice taste. Nice.
If I'm going to have green tea (and it isn't jasmine, which i love) i usually prefer these kind of 'toasted rice' /grain-y subtle teas. I don't know how to control my water temperature so I put a splash of cold water in before brewing and stopped at 2 min. Really subtle and not bitter at all.
Hot green grass water. Definitely NOT my cup of tea.
Nutty, well-rounded, slightly vegetal, with a hint of bitterness. Not my favorite green, but a very nice one.
It's one of my favorite green teas with a light, fresh flavorful notes. It's best to not use boiling water and a great for the afternoon.
As healthy as it is. The taste wasnt anything special. Very earthy flavor
Pretty good taste. Not super exciting but still tastes good
Very distinct green tea! Has some of that characteristic "grassy" flavor but it is far more subdued than most greens. There was also other tasting notes that I couldn't quite make out. Maybe the "buttery" from the descriptio? In either case, it would make for a great option for someone exploring the world of green tea.
It's mellow with just a tiny smokey undertone. Great quality tea for morning or night.
This is a green that is very light and mild. There are some grassy and nutty notes to it, and it is very soft. I really like it for that, and for the fact that it is well balanced.
This is a decent, baseline green tea, not too astringent or too bitter, but still good for those who aren't big on straying from the green tea their used to.
Soothing tea with not quite enough flavor, good tea overall, but I was looking for a stronger flavor
Smooth and dry tea that’s delicious with a little honey:)
Pleasant and wonderfully light green tea . Will be my favorite green tea . I enjoy it as a mid morning pick me up after a long walk with my Lab.
Won't make my list of favorites. Not as 'grassy' or rich in flavor as I prefer in green tea. Reads just a slight bit more like a black tea to me.
I’ve got to say that this one didn’t do it for me. It was okay, but it had a bitter undertone to it that I really didn’t enjoy. I wouldn’t get this one again.
180* for 3 minutes
CommuniTEA sample: 2.5 min @ 180 F. This was an excellent green tea. I did three infusions with the leaves. It's got a light, sweet smell and a very gentle body. It reminded me a lot of lightly roasted, green vegetables, having a very natural green flavor with some hints of butter to it. Definitely refreshing and warming, and not as bitter as many grassier green teas are.
While Dragonwell will most likely never be a favorite of mine, it's much better than several other traditional green teas I've had through the CommuniTEA. Dragonwell is more naturally nutty and less vegetal in flavor than other green teas. Even though the flavor isn't very vegetal, the aroma is, and it's hard for me to get past it, particularly on the first steep. This is still a savory tea, after all. But, the flavor wins, fortunately, and I can admit, this Dragonwell is a quality tea. (1.5 minutes @ 175F)
Smooth and mild. No 'grassy' taste. But doesn't really stand out.
The smell wasn't all that great and honestly, the flavor leaves a lot to be desired.
Not a big fan of green tea and this was no exception. Daughter said it smelled of seaweed and I agree. Tasted like something I'd eat, not drink. Couldn't get past the first sip or two.
Grassy and slightly buttery almost like pine nuts. Not my favorite green tea but it’s good.
This simple green tea is superb! No hint of a grassy/vegetal taste to my taste buds. Light in flavor but smoothly satisfying all the same.
Not for me. Unfortunately, I can't move past the smell, even as it's cooled.
Sampled this as part of the CommuniTEA. It was a bit too grassy green for me but my son loved it and the leaves were high quality.
Very nice green tea with buttery and grassy notes. Do not over brew. Temp and time are important here. Keep it light and not bitter. Sometimes I add a pinch of raw sugar.
This brews light, but it's full of flavor. It's smooth, a little nutty, and a little astringent.
Right after brewing, this tea seemed a bit light. However, the flavor became more pronounced when it cooled slightly. It's a really pleasant green tea. Soft, not bitter, and I tasted the sweet corn notes. I'll probably order this tea to keep on hand.
What an interesting green tea. For me, its fruity, almost a hint of pineapple in smell and taste. Smooth and round in drinking. A truly delicious green tea.
