Dragonwell Customer Reviews

One of China's most famous teas, from Hangzhou in Zhejiang province. Distinctive flattened leaf shape gives the tea an inviting, toasty aroma. Sweet rounded flavor, like freshly roasted white corn. Nutty, buttery texture, pleasantly dry finish.

★★★★☆

I quite like this tea. It's a tea you can drink everyday as it has a light and clean taste, not overpowering.

★★★★☆

Very flavorful and tasty aroma in this green tea! I like to drink this in the morning right before breakfast!

This was actually purchased for a friend, so I haven't drunk any. But he loves it and has asked me to reorder it on several occasions. I figure that anything someone wants to get more than once is a positive recommendation.

★★★★★

My favorite so far. Will be ordering more of this for sure!

★★★★☆

This is an enjoyable tea with a slightly smoky flavor.

★★★☆☆

This green tea is smoother than the sencha and reminds me of a heavier-tasting snowbud but with less refreshing taste, a bit more grassy note, and a little hint of roughness at the edges. It particularly tastes nice cold after brewing. I've been playing with different temperatures, but it remains that this is a nice green, very grassy.

This tea is a straightforward, dragonwell green. If you like straightforward green tea, you'll like it!

Great stuff! I have a hard time buying anything else. Steeps well at whatever temperature. Mellow but flavorful. goes well with honey.

★★★★★

Light and refreshing taste. Very good starting point for anyone who wants to try pure green tea.

★★★★★

Dragonwell has been my favorite tea for many years. I only use Adagio tea, I once had to buy from another well researched company and the taste was very different. I will only use Adagio dragonwell from now on.

When I first tried this tea I was sick and didn't really like it all that much. But after a cup or two a week later I must say, WOW. This tea is absolutely wonderful. It is a very earthy grassy tea with a very light color. I will definitely be buying this tea again in the future. Would recommend to anyone who likes earthy/grassy teas!

★★★★★

Bought this again. It is still great as always, accompanied with the same great vegetal roasted flavor I love. For that, it will always be my number one green tea.

My fallback green tea. I visited the plantation in China. A light, woody flavor, great way to start my day.

Love this green tea! Beautiful color steeped and the taste is amazing. It has hints of a few flavors but they blend well and none of them are overpowering.

★★★★☆

This was a good way to sample different green teas. For me, jade snail really stood out.

★★★★★

My go-to morning tea. A lot of green tea is actually too faint for me unless I steep it so long it gets bitter. Dragonwell hits my perfect sweet spot of having a nice depth of flavor without being bitter--as long as you keep a tight eye on the timer! Of course, that's another reason it's my morning tea. it only takes one minute to steep to just the depth I like.

★★★★★

Easily my favorite tea flavor of them all. A must with each order.

★★★★★

I honestly can't remember the exact details of this one but I do remember that I loved it .)

★★★★★

I don't normally like tea but I love this one! A must have for tea lovers!

★★★★★

My go-to favorite green tea. Not too earthy. A pleasant every day drinking tea. No matter what Else I try, I still come back to this tea.

★★★★★

This is my favorite green tea so far. It's very smooth and slightly nutty with no bitterness. I could drink it all day.

★★★★★

One of my favorites. Strong flavor with a punch. Make sure not to let it seep too long!

★★★★☆

A good tasting, pure green tea. Not too grassy tasting and resteeps well.

I Like this Lung Ching. The Dry leaves have an earthy, nutty aroma. When you begin your steep is when the magic starts to happen. The green leaves expand and unfurl releasing a pungent dose of stewed greens and roasted chestnuts. The steep is the best part for me. Once poured, the intense aroma dies down (unfortunately) and the the liquor is ready for consumption. This tea plays notes from every scale but they're all very subtle. Nutty, fruity, sweet, smokey, even vegetable brothy. Try this tea. Its decent. My only complaint is that it doesn't hold its aroma as well as other Lung Chings.

This tea is good, very dragonwellyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

I can see why the sample is $8. This tea was a really mellow green tea that was earthy without tasting like grass.

★★★★☆

Where to begin, my first experience with this tea was not quite as wonderful as I imagined it to be, but I believe that I simply did not let it steep long enough. Today I tried it a second time and was utterly blown away. It is the smoothest green tea I've tried and the flavors are nice but subtle. The first time it had an overly grassy taste to it, but the second time it had a smooth floral taste with a hint of grass to it. Will definitely order more of this soon, just hoping for less broken leaves in the next batch.

Classic green tea taste, with a slight smokiness. Like the Anhui Emerald Seed, but just a little more grassy.

I'm finding 2014 to be a bad year for Dragonwell everywhere. I've talked with many tea shop owners claiming bad conditions for the farmers. Adagio Dragonwell is suffering the same fate. The tea is lacking the usual 'hearty' flavor, but it's better than going totally without, as I am addicted to this stuff.

★★☆☆☆

The Dragonwell I got this last time wasn't nearly as good as previous orders.

★★★★☆

A Nice delicious smooth green tea , is perfect anytime of the day.

I'm a little jaded as dragonwell is my favorite type of green tea. This one is certainly decent, but for the price there are others that are better.

★★★★★

This tea is absolutely wonderful. It has a very light flavor that makes you want to drink it non stop.

★★★★★

One of my favorite teas and I really like the Adagio blend.

★★★☆☆

it's a bland for my taste.
(not intense green tea flavor)

★★★★★

I love it! The shape of the tea is so elegant! The fragrance is too!

★★★★★

I'm so glad an earlier reviewer explained that the reason my tea started tasty salty halfway through was the tears of joy I cried at how amazing this tea is. I've literally never had such a fantastic green tea. It was perfect.

Great smooth, rounded, green tea taste. Not bitter at all... slightly grassy, nutty, buttery. The flavor is not hiding anywhere. If you like Chinese green teas, I would definitely give this a try. Cool name, and taste to back it up.

This is the best Dragon Well I've ever purchased. The toasty, buttery notes are much more obvious in this one than in most, which makes for a really rich, smooth cup.

What can I say, green tea is never going to be my favorite. It's fine for what it is.

★★★★★

You haven't had green tea unless you've had dragonwell. It's more on the delicate side so I would add more quantity if you want a stronger flavor. But if the only green tea you've had has come from the supermarket aisle, your first cup of dragonwell might taste a bit salty from all the tears you'll shed over what you've been missing for so long.

One of the best teas I've tried from Adagio so far. It's light with a rich toasted flavor that's not overly sweet. Highly recommended.

★★★★★

smooth, low on the 'grassy' side for a green tea, if that offends you. the pan-fried aspect is wonderful, it really distinguishes the tea from other green varieties.

A nice smooth tea with the grassy green taste that I expect. A great way to start my Saturday morning!

I was recently a tea plantation in Hangzhou and this is the closet to the tea there.
