Dragonwell Customer Reviews

One of China's most famous teas, from Hangzhou in Zhejiang province. Distinctive flattened leaf shape gives the tea an inviting, toasty aroma. Sweet rounded flavor, like freshly roasted white corn. Nutty, buttery texture, pleasantly dry finish.

This is the best tasting green tea that I have tried.

★★★★★

Very rich and flavorful tea, somewhat of a pungent or nutty flavor to it that is quite enjoyable.

★★☆☆☆

Although this tea smells nice and tastes nice, it is _extremely_ weak. It's almost impossible to add enough tea to the teapot to get a full-bodied cup of dragonwell. This is something I haven't experienced with other kinds of dragonwell (mostly from other suppliers). I won't be ordering this again.

Even the regular dragon well order at adagio is of premium quality. You can tell the difference between these leaves and some of the lower quality ones I got from Amazon. The taste and quality is like night and day!

Fair quality. Fair quality. Fair quality. Fair quality. Fair quality.

Mellow and sweet; quite lovely. My favorite green tea.

★★★★★

this is superior dragonwell tea. i've never tasted any better. I will always buy this at Adagio!

★★★★☆

My favorite green tea. Love the buttery taste. I have used this tea for years and always return to it. Still a wonderful tea.

★★★★★

Very tasty, green without being vegetal, no bitter notes, an excellent value.

★★★★★

My favorite of the green tea sampler, great with nothing else in it.

★★★★☆

A great starting place for green teas! It's mild, but still herbal. Overall, really great.

★★★★★

Very fresh, grassy aroma and bright taste. Classic tea done very well by Adagio.

Very good. Nice mellow taste. Blends well with genmai cha for a change.

★★★★☆

nice green tea character, very smooth, not bitter at all. Somewhat more broken-up than I was anticipating, but still a pleasant tea to drink

I'm new to the world of tea drinking and actually hated drinking tea for a long time. I was inexperienced and often wrongly brewed tea or bought cheap packs from store isles.

Now I know how tea should be and I would say I love it. I tried this tea hot and iced (double strength and pouring over ice). This tea is crisp and clean when it's hot. Slight earthy undertone but not a front note for people turned away by that.

When it's iced, the teas flavor lingers more on your tongue and I found the sweetness more apparent when it's iced. It tastes refreshing and hydrating both hot and iced

Subtle, almost grassy flavor. Something that can be appreciated at any time of day.

I don't drink this one every day but when I do I am reminded how much I like it.

★★★★☆

I dunno, just doesn't have that spark I was expecting. Good, grassy, but I'm not getting any of the buttery, nutty notes I was expecting.

★★★★☆

Very delicate and delicious tea. One of the better green teas.

★★★★★

This is the best long jing! Also, great price. There are some good ones from other vendors, but this is definitely the tastiest for the price. If you are new to green tea, this is the one to try.

This has such a distinct flavor I sometimes cook with it, and you can taste it in the dish. Lovely. Definitely a great green tea staple, and worth the price.

I prefer it with honey or other added flavor, but it is a good green, even on it's own.

★★★★★

I normally dislike green teas because they taste grassy to me, but dragonwell was delightful! It was light, no grass flavor, and what I imagine an ideal green tea should be.

★★★★☆

It's a good green tea. I didn't find anything particularly remarkable. Pretty much your standard flavor I'd imagine. I think I prefer gunpowder or sleeping dragon, because I missed the slightly smokey flavor. But this is very nice and drinkable. I love green tea, so you really can't go wrong.

★★★★☆

Very refreshing and smooth. I now understand entirely why my mother keeps a huge bag of this always on hand.

★★★★★

This was my first experience with a high quality green tea. I tend to gravitate toward oolong or black teas but wanted to expand my tea experience. This tea was a great tea with which to start. Much more interesting than the generic green teas. It was soft and flavorful, yet not 'wimpy'. Definitely a good way to introduce green to my tea chest.

The Pouchong of my green tea tastes thus far. Good, solid green tea for the more novice drinker. I like keeping it around.

It has a great smooth taste. On the lighter and sweeter side but great non the less

Well, if you don't like green tea, even this won't change your mind.
BUT! If you DO like green tea, you owe it to yourself to give this a try.

I easily get three brews out of it, and use 180 degree water.

I find this dragon well refreshing and eminently enjoyable.

This is an excellent green, with a definite grassy taste mixed with some floral. It is a stronger green than most.

Very bland flavor, if I didn't see the tea in the cup then I wouldn't know I was drinking tea.

A very delicately flavored tea that needs to be sipped mindfully to be appreciated.

It's really good, but I use the brewing instructions from David's Teas, which is 4m @ 185

This was a really nice tea to drink right before my meditation. The tea has the most beautiful golden color. It has a very light mellow flavor and a beautiful citrus aroma. I brewed it for longer then they recommend on the package

good solid green tea... could be paired with anything

★★★★☆

A little bit green and a little bit toasty, with just a hint of astringency. I'm not a huge fan of green teas, but this one was nice.

I have had better. I've had worse. I bit weaker than I prefer, even if steeped longer.

★★★★☆

A good everyday dragonwell tea. I brew my dragonwell by wetting the leaves first in the bottom of the cup, and then slowly pouring the water to the top of the cup keeping the leaves in the tea, adding more hot water when about a three quarters of the original brew has been consumed. This tea works quite well for this brewing method.
