Everyone who said they didn’t have any cherry in the Comunitea packet, I can tell you where those pieces showed up. It was medicinal and metallic tasting. I couldn’t get through an entire cup.
Fresh green tea flavored with summer cherries. Candied cherry aroma, juicy flavor and slightly dry finish.

Not my cup of tea... the cherry is awkward to me. It seems more floral.
Cherry is my FAVORITE flavor, so this tea was magical! The rose flavor was a little heavier than I would've wanted, but that's my only complaint!
I went into this tea late in the day having hyped it up all throughout the morning and afternoon. I'm not usually a fan of cherry flavoring but this tea didn't taste as artificial as I thought it would—which is simply an understatement! It was light and fresh but heavy on the cherry, perfect for a summer afternoon.
My Communitea sample was missing the cherries so this is not a wholly accurate review. I have learned that I don't care for rose when brewed hot so I opted for cold brewing this sample. The rose and green tea are well balanced and there is a hint of cherry in there from the flavoring. The cold brew helped tamp down the perfume like flavors rose tends to impart when brewed hot. Overall a decent tea, but I wish there had been some cherry pieces.
Received in my communitea pack. This tea smelled like cough medicine, and the brew just made that stronger. I couldn't drink it.
A candied cherry and floral aroma was emitted from the packet upon opening.
Steeping for 3 minutes at 180ºF produced a light green tea.
The prominent flavor here is definitely cherry candy. Each sip tastes like a piece of cherry hard candy without any sweetness. The green tea gives a nicely dry and mildly astringent base to carry the cherry flavors with. Rose and floral aromas were not as detectable over the blast of cherry candy flavor.
If you like cherry candy, this one is definitely for you. However, if you find that oftentimes this kind of cherry flavor can seem medicinal, then this one might not be your cup of tea. I found this one to be somewhere in the middle... not quite overpoweringly medicinal, and just enough green tea to keep me going back for another sip.
God why does the cherry flavor taste like cough syrup? I’m having ptsd from childhood
Very strong cherry scent upon opening the Communitea packet. Mostly green tea with a few small cherry bits and rose petals. Cherry scent was lighter after brewing and was reflected in the taste which was a basic green tea with a touch of cherry. A little light on flavor overall but enjoyable enough to finish and resteep.
This is definitely a tea i prefer iced to hot. I think it has everything to do with the slight medicinal flavor the heat brings out, cold brewed though this gives a delightful light cherry flavor, it is a tad on the artificial side but nonetheless very tasty. I do however prefer the pomegranate green or raspberry green.
This tea is not for me when warm. I am extremely sensitive to some artificial flavors and cherry is one of them. Also I did not have any cherries in my communiTEA packet so there was no real cherry flavor added to my tea. Real cherries may have helped tone down some of the artificial flavor for me. I had a difficult time drinking it warm since it smelled and tasted like Luden’s cherry throat drops. I did steep it again and iced it. Whether it was because it was a 2nd steep or cold it tasted much better. The artificial taste was almost gone and the flavors were balanced out much more. I did add a little sugar to the iced cup. All in all I would not drink this warm, but I would drink it again if it was iced. Not a tea I will seek out though. Steep at 180º for 3 mins.
At first sniff of my CommuniTEA packet, I was immediately reminded of Zotz candy. I was a bit hesitant due to the artificial-like flavor but I steeped for 3 minutes. The result is a bit weak but it's mostly cherry candy with a hint of earthiness from the green tea. It tastes as I expected from the ingredients list. I wasn't a huge fan of the cherry flavoring so I won't be buying a bag of this one, but I didn't taste any other issues with it besides it being a tad weak (which could be fixed with using more tea).
Wow the smell wafting up from the CommuniTEA packet was something else! Candied cherries for sure! The resulting brew was quite nice. Very fruity, but didn't hide its green base.
The cherry tastes like what you'd expect on a icecream sundae, which does detract from the tea for me. Overall it's quite acceptable, with the more spinach-like and iron-y flavor of the green tea grounding it somewhat. I think it'd be better if it were more of a natural cherry flavor instead of the candied version.
I don't particularly like cherry flavored teas, this one was less medicine-flavored and more grassy green-rosy tea flavored with some hints of cherry. It was better than other cherry teas I've had but still not good enough to make me want more.
I can smell the cherry, light cherry taste. I like it, now I’m cold blew it
I enjoyed the scent and taste of cherries with this tea, especially with a bit of sugar. However, the rose was too strong and overpowered the other flavors. (3 mins @ 185°F)
I really thought - and hoped - I would love this one. So much so that I feel sad that I have to give it a bad review. But I think anything else would be dishonest.
I did have a couple of cherries in my CommuniTEA packet, as well as some rose petals. I followed the recommended temp and steep time, too.
For some reason, though, I could barely taste any cherry or rose. It just tasted like really astringent green tea that was vaguely kinda sweet. I couldn't handle it. I ended up dumping it out after a couple of sips.
I'm so happy that some people love this tea. It just did NOT get along with my tastebuds.
Today’s tea was delightful. The smell when I opening my packet was inviting, though slightly astringent. That mellowed out once the hot water was added and it carried a light fruity scent. The flavoring was balanced. The rose and cherry kept the green from becoming grassy, while the green kept the overall profile light. Neither steep lasted long enough in my mug to reach room temperature, but this was equally pleasant hot and warm!
first thing I tasted was the rose petals followed by a strong cherry in the middle. The green tea can be tasted at the end on the finish slightly. I like how the rose petals kind of hid the cherry flavoring to make it seem more natural but i don't think it quite blended with the cherry, it even over powered it a little.
Right off the bat, this packet hit me with an intense artificial cherry smell. For as strong as the scent was, the cherry is more of a backdrop for the green tea when brewed. It's pleasant while hot, but not spectacular. The cherry flavor is much stronger iced, but too medicinal to be enjoyable. All in all, not something I would pick up for myself.
I am generally not a huge fan of rose in tea, and the cherry was underwhelming for me. Maybe I got more rose flavor than cherry in my packet. There were no actual cherry pieces in there. Not a bad tea, but not for me.
Updated review: This packet had a very fake cherry aroma, but I couldn't taste much cherry flavor at all. It was a light, grassy green tea with a soapy, floral rose taste. Neither of those are flavor profiles I love, so this tea is a miss for me. (reviewed through CommuniTEA 2021; 3 min @ 180F)
Original review (6-1-20): Very light tasting tea, and not much green tea flavor to detect (which is fine by me, as I don't love green tea). It was very floral and fruity, but not very cherry. It tasted more like a rosehip/hibiscus herbal tea. (reviewed through CommuniTEA 2020)
Judging from reviews, the amount of cherry that ends up on your portion spoon is going to make all the difference. Mine was perfect -- I'm a big fan of green and the cherry-rose combo hit my palate in just the right spot! Likely to buy a larger portion -- thanx CommuniTea.
Just no for me. I have learned that I do not like the fake cherry flavoring in my teas. I drank half my cup, then dumped it.
I brewed iced tea again for today’s CommuniTEA and my tastebuds were thankful. This tea was lovely iced. The cherry and rose in my packet were subtle. This is one of the lighter cherry flavored teas I’ve enjoyed. The green tea was a perfect dance partner here and definitely took the lead. Happy sipping!
Overwhelming scent of rose in the packet, no cherry pieces. Some artificial cherry aromas. Tasted like perfume, or fancy soap, but I myself am not a fan of rose. Did not taste like cherry to me. I prefer the Cherry Marzipan Oolong.
It has a lovely scent of cherry and rose and is slightly sweet, but the green tea is lost underneath both the stronger flavors. It's nice, but not very tea-ey.
I had zero fruit, just rose petals. As I'm usually not a green tea fan, this wasn't for me. Too grassy and floral
Funny how I got this from the communitea series (6/1). The tea leaves smelled great which raised my expectations for the taste. Boy, it didn't let me down. I'll consider buying it in the future, but not this month. UPDATE (6/3/21): My how a year flies. I have yet to buy at least a sample bag, but it's still great. I'm not big on cherry, but love the rose. Communitea packets don't always have all the ingredients present which you get the accurate taste when you buy the sample or bigger. Disclaimer: This is a review based off of two communitea samples.
I was overwhelmed with the scent of 1980s cough syrup as a kid. The resulting tea tasted like a combo of fake cherry cough syrup laced with overly sweet floral perfume. Really not a fan. I love rose and cherry, but somehow this landed flat for me.
the cherry is very prominent. this would make an amazing iced tea!
I'm surprised at how well green and cherry go together, with a little rose to kind of even out the strength of both flavors. From a green tea skeptic: this is a really nice tea.
175 degrees for 3 minutes.
Well, this tea had two things against it from the get-go, unfortunately. I'm not a big fan of flavored green teas, and I don't really like cherry flavored stuff. So, this combination wasn't so good for me. The cherry tasted artificial and the odd rose aftertaste mixed with a bitterness from the tea just didn't work. Its a nope from me.
Meh. Smelled of cherry cough syrup on opening the packet, and there were no actual cherries present. (The CommuniTea curse strikes again.) I assume this lack of cherry pieces is why the tea is overwhelmingly ROSE ROSE ROSE - and not necessarily a pleasant way. Until Adagio can fix the consistency issues, I'd pass on this tea, unless you're really fond of drinking something that ends up reminiscent of Grandma's perfume.
So the cherry was super artificial tasting, but not but bad. I wouldn't go out of my way to order, but I'm not gonna turn it down.
Personally I don't like cherry flavor; It usually tastes medicinal to me. That said if you enjoy cherry and green tea this maybe a combo for you. I found this to be very perfumey floral due to another flavor I don't like, rose. Roses should be seen & not smelled or drank, this is just a personal preference. If your speed is cherry rose green tea this maybe your flavor. I sampled this tea as part of the CommuniTEA June 2021 box.
This tasted like cough syrup. I was hoping this was going to be a similar drink to the old Teavana Sakura Allure, but no such luck. Don t get it unless you enjoy that too sweet artificially taste
Edit communitea: this had no cherry pieces just a note but there is more of a floral taste with this. Possibly because the lack of cherries. But it tasted very floral, no medicinal taste.
Cherry wants the keys
“Let me drive”, she said to Green
The thought turned Green, green
“You just turned 16”
“I will take the wheel,” called Rose
“I’m now seventeen”
Can you decide it?
who takes the wheel in this tea?
Rose, Cherry, or Green?
(Haiku review)
Trying along with the CommuniTEA: Strong cherry fragrance from the dry ingredients and packet today. once steeped for 3 mins at 185°F, I notice subtle cherry and rose scents from my cup. When I take sip, I experience earthy, matcha-like flavors mixed with cherry notes and a nice cherry finish.
Love fruity green teas so this one was already a favorite before I even tried it. Tart cherries with a hint of rose is perfect for a nice summer evening.
I liked the sound of this tea, but the reality wasn't my favorite. My packet didn't have any cherry pieces, and the 'natural cherry flavor' alongside the rose petals resulting in a medicinal flavor that I personally found unpleasant.
Where did all the cherries go? I liked the flavor of this soft rose green with a hint of cherry. My CT packet told the story with plenty of green leaves, a generous sprinkling of rose petals and MIA cherry pieces. I was lucky because I like the taste of rose in teas. A tart bite of cherry flavor, thugh, would have been the perfect compliment.
I brewed 3 g/ 2 tsp of tea at 175F (green tea temp.) for 3 minutes. The light yellow green hued liquor tasted of a pleasant non grassy green tea flavored with rose. I sweetened with Adagio’s raw honey for green tea and the sweetening brightened the flavors and brought out a whisper of cherry taste. A slight cherry flavor also peaked out more as the tea cooled. I sweetened and chilled a mini cup too. I didn’t like the taste of this tea cold. The chilled rose flavor tasted cottony and muddled to me, not distinct and clear. Another 6 oz. resteep was possible and flavorful with a 2:30 minute steep.
The idea of a cherry green tea sounds so luscious and delicious. I’d like to try a sample bag of Cherry green just to taste the great cherry taste that I missed this time around.
I was disappointed in the flavor. When I opened my packet it was mostly green tea leaves and very little cherry. The taste was mostly green tea and very little cherry. I would not buy this one.
I did not like this. I brewed it for 3 mins at 180. I strongly dislike rose flavored tea and that was the majority of the flavor and scent I got from this tea (to the point that it drowned out anything else). I did not get much cherry flavor and could barely taste the green tea base.
My CommuniTEA sample didn't contain any cherry pieces (or if it did, they were especially small), so I definitely got the aroma of cherries when I opened the packet and even after it was brewed, but the flavor I got reminded me more of rosewater than cherries. Not bad, but not really what I was expecting based on the name of the tea. I think that's just on the CommuniTEA packet, though.
Subtle and well balanced this tes is really tasty.
Cherry is almost there... but this is still a nice tart tea. To bring out the flavors I strongly suggest adding some sort of sweetener. I steeped this for three minutes.
Opening this packet released a strong smell of cherries. This cherry scent is a lot more reminiscent of the medicinal flavor of acerola cherries as opposed to more commonly eaten cherries.
Since I have strong feelings about the appropriate length of time to steep green tea, I only steeped this tea for 1.5 minutes at 180F. Since I decrease the steep time, the rose and cherry notes were more of an aromatic component than a taste component. I was happy with this since I'm not a big fan of cherry flavor in tea.
I don't usually sweeten green tea, but I wanted to see if it would bring out the floral and cherry flavor more, so I added a small amount of sugar. I immediately regretted this decision as it made the tea too sweet for me.
Overall, I didn't hate this tea, but I wouldn't buy it or go out of my way to drink it. If you like cherries, you might like this tea, but keep in mind that it is not the same flavor you get when you eat fresh cherries.
Smells like cough syrup; thankfully, tastes better than it smells, but the flavor is sort of boring.
