I LOVE vanilla tea and this one provides enough vanilla so you know it’s there but does overpower the taste of the black tea in the background.

Excellent vanilla aroma, not chemical or artificial smelling like some 'vanilla' teas. Light vanilla flavor, not overpowering. It was a little boring black, but wonderful with honey and half and half.

a delicious black tea! not overwhelming vanilla, just right

To be quite frank, I became distracted and overbrewed this the first time...195 for over five minutes rather than three. However, it had no bitterness whatsoever. I breathed a sigh of relief and proceeded to sip a cup of tea full of the flavor of vanilla. I would not normally drink this tea on its own as it is a bit too sweet for me, but it will be delightful to add to other teas. I do not normally add anything to my tea to sweeten it as my taste preference generally runs to savory and tart. However, I do enjoy a bit of sweetness now and then. If vanilla is a taste you crave, then this tea is spot on for you.

A great tea for blending with others or having by itself. It's mildly sweet and very aromatic.

★★★★★

Very good. You taste the natural vanilla. Very good tea

This is a great, bakery tasting vanilla flavored tea, mixes great in blends and is very mild on its own. The black tea is medium bodied and slightly malty which pairs well with vanilla flavoring. I like this one with milk and sweetener (I use monk sugar or Stevia) but its versatility for rounding out a blend that needs a little something to smooth the flavor will benefit from adding this to it. On it's own it is a very basic vanilla but that's what I expected. There are no unexpected mineral, smoke, cream or citrus notes, and there is very minimal astringency to this tea. I will buy again and again, perhaps next time the big bag since I am rapidly going through the 2 smaller (3 oz) I got with the last 2 orders. It will not get bitter even if you steep it too long--great for folks like me who aren't fancy with timers and such.

Smells so good I wanted to eat the tea leaves! The scent is like you are lying amongst vanilla bean pods. The flavor makes it different enough to stand out against a plain black tea, and will probably be good to make my own tea blends. I do have to remember to only brew for 3 minutes though!

★★★★☆

It's not awful but there's just something about it that doesn't sit right. It has a weird spice flavor to it that I couldn't quite place that had an off aftertaste. It was pretty nice up front, but I wouldn't get it again. (Cold brewed for 10 hours)

★★★★★

Smooth flavor. I often mix with almond tea leaves to make a custom flavor.

I bought this Vanilla to combine with Cream and Caramel to make 'Cake' tea without the sprinkles, since I don't do any type of sugar and the sprinkles are pure sugar. Although it works well for combining and getting the Cake taste, if you are just using this tea as a stand alone, it is good, but not great. It has a bit of a weak vanilla taste. I prefer the vanilla taste that you get from just using a pure vanilla extract in my tea rather than spending the extra money to use this Vanilla Tea.

The perfect amount of vanilla, so that the taste of the tea still came through as well.

★★★☆☆

I always WANT to like the vanilla black tea, because it's a fantastic concept. But the execution sadly falls a bit flat. I don't get any vanilla flavor (although there is a nice vanilla aroma to the dry leaves, but that mostly disappears when brewed) and there's not even a smoothness that I get with other vanilla black teas. Overall it tastes too astringent and I think perhaps a milder black tea might allow the vanilla flavor to come through more. I've tried brewing at a lower temp for a longer, and at 212 for slightly less time than I usually do, but neither yielded a strong vanilla flavor.

When you want something softer and sweeter to greet your tastebuds than a full on Ceylon, Adagio Vanilla will satisfy. The aroma lets you know before your first sip, this is a cup for pleasant conversation, reading, baking or enjoying the moment. NOTE: avoid over steeping, it ruins the delicate vanilla taste.

Hits the spot! This tea has just the right amount of warmth and sweetness.

★★★★☆

This tea smells delicious, much more like actual vanilla than I expected (usually these sorts of teas have a synthetic vibe that reminds me of a Bath and Bodyworks candle). For me, the black tea overpowered the vanilla flavour a bit, but the astringency was reasonable, especially if you brew at a slightly lower temperature than recommended, and the aftertaste is smooth and surprisingly sweet. Add a little brown sugar and/or cream to really bring out the dessert aspect of this one. I'm not sure I'd buy it again, but it was fun to try and I'll be pulling it out on mornings when I'm craving something comforting and simple.

This isn't a strong vanilla flavor once brewed. Not a tea that I'll likely order again.

Awesome aroma and taste! I drink this almost everyday.

★★★★★

I have an incurable sweet tooth and this tea did not disappoint. This is my favorite vanilla-flavored tea I have tried so far.

★★★★☆

A nice light tea. I do wish the vanilla came through a bit more, but overall, I was pleased with it.

I usually drink this as iced. It smells great and the taste is more of an artificial vanilla flavor, but it tastes fine.

Just a great vanilla flavor to this tea, no other off tastes.

Enjoyable smooth cup of tea. I add cream and enjoy in the morning in place of coffee.

A solid vanilla ceylon tea. A good base for your own additions or to fill out another flavored tea.

Another solid black tea, versatile and strong enough to handle dilution by any milk.

★★★★★

I blend this with Cream and Caramel every morning with a little bit of milk.

★★★★★

Just amazing. I love fairly anything vanilla and this has great flavor!

★★☆☆☆

The flavor is far too faint. I recommend the cream flavor instead.

Strong vanilla flavor I do not recommend for the tea to be left longer than the recommended time. @adagioteas

This is one of my favorites. Plain vanilla tea with just enough vanilla.

My first cup was too hot and way too sweet but still enjoyable. The vanilla flavor is subtle so I added more, by itself it leaves you wanting something more..

Love this tea first thing in the morning. Great aroma and subtle vanilla flavor. Definitely a favorite and a staple in my cupboard!

Excellent flavor. Nice smooth tea to enjoy for breakfast! @adagioteas

Brewed according package instructions, The tea came out a bit more bitter than I expected, but it easily mellowed with a just a dash of sugar, becoming smooth with well-balanced notes of both the black tea and Vanilla flavors. The sugar also brought out the Vanilla accents in the tea. This tea tasted better when I re-brewed it, and there was no loss of flavor. This tea is equally good warm as it is chilled.

I enjoy this more as a blend than on its own. The smell is wonderful! On its own, it needs to steep at a lower temperature to overcome the bitterness.

★★★★★

Really nice smooth tea - perfect for any time of day, with milk and sugar.

★★★★☆

Solid vanilla tea, nice when I'm looking for a simple flavored black tea. I prefer to drink it with milk. Ok for second steeping, but first is definitely better.

GREAT ADDITION TO THROW IN WITH YOUR NORMAL FAVORITE TEA. A GREAT WAY TO REVAMPT AN OLD FAVORITE TEA AND MAKE IT A MILLION TIMES BETTER.

★★★★★

I'm not afraid to admit when I'm wrong, and this is a case where I was wrong. I am skeptical of most vanilla teas because, I often say, they have a tendency to taste like I'm drinking a candle. I said in my review of Vanilla Oolong that it was the only vanilla tea that doesn't taste like drinking a candle. That is incorrect. This tea also tastes like a lovely, delicious vanilla beverage, not like a candle. So yeah, I was wrong. This tea is great. Maybe Adagio is just better than most at flavoring their teas.

Lovely vanilla taste with a great black tea base. I added just a bit of cinnamon and a splash of non dairy creamer (can't have real milk) and had a vanilla cinnamon latte. mmmmm! Loved it! Nice base tea for blends as well.

Brewed slightly bitter for me at 212, but a nice vanilla flavor and works well as a milk and sugar tea.

This one is simply ok. It smells good but there’s very little vanilla flavor in the tea when hot. More flavor comes forward with sweetener and as it cools, but this isn’t one of my favorite flavor profiles. The vanilla oolong is more to my liking.

Nice tea, but vanilla just isn't my thing by itself. It balanced with the black tea well though!

I can't believe I haven't tried this tea on it's own before today. The vanilla flavor is strong but not overpowering. Quite an enjoyable black tea that is also great in so many blends.

Upon opening the packet, I noted a strong vanilla aroma. My packet included 4 g of tea leaves.

I added 11 grams of tea sugar to my 12 oz mug as I waited for my tea water to reach 200° F. I steeped my tea for 3 minutes.

The tea issued an aroma that seemed to be a mixture of vanilla and almonds.

A vanilla flavour came through very nicely through the black tea. Only a very slight astringency. The tea seemed to become sweeter with more of a vanilla flavour as the tea cooled.

I enjoyed this tea very much and can see myself buying more in the future.
