I adore this tea and will be sure to buy myself some more when I can. It's great with sugar and milk and tastes like a cookie.

★★★★★

This was a delicious tea. At first I was startled by the subtle tastes that came with the bold smell. While it smells strongly of vanilla, the taste holds a more subtle taste, the vanilla coming out more strongly in the aftertaste, though still not overpoweringly so. To me, the mix of strong scent and subtle taste was perfect. '

This one is just ok. I like black tea, I love vanilla, so I figured I'd really like this one one, but I didn't. It tastes more artificial than other teas from Adagio. I wouldn't order it again.

★★★★☆

This is my go-to flavor because vanilla is just such a staple that it tastes good with anything. I do think that if the flavor was stronger I would drink it more, but as it is, it's a wonderful well-balanced flavor.

★★★☆☆

Sweet but the vanilla flavor is a little overpowering.

★★★★☆

So far this has been one of my favorite vanilla teas. I have used it in blending several teas.

★★★★★

Great tea to have with dessert, or to curb a sweet tooth.

★★★★★

Vanilla is an amazing tea. I first had a taste of it when it was in a blend with other flavors and it tastes great blended but is even more amazing by itself.

★★★★☆

It's your simple but good vanilla. If your gonna buy good vanilla tea, then get it here.

★★★★☆

As someone who doesn't typically drink black teas, I got this as a free sample and found it to be quite good. I tried it out as an experiment for cold brewing and it tasted even better. I can't say that I would actually try it again since I prefer herbal teas, but if you're into black tea this is one you should probably add to your stash.

★★★★☆

I have used this tea for blends but never on its own until now. I was worried that it might have a synthetic flavor on its own, but it tastes like a warm sugar cookie. It's perfect on chilly day.

★★★★☆

It's good. I wanted the vanilla to be stronger. I might prefer it with rooibos or oolong. The black seems to overpower it. Very nice, though, with almond milk and a bit of Stevia.

★★★★★

this was a lovely black tea. the vanilla flavor was nice and strong as well. i would definitely recommend!

★★★★☆

Really lovely tea. I actually mixed a bit in with some of my other flavors (specifically, ginger comes to mind), and it was tasty!

★★★★☆

This was really pleasing. When just drinking the tea I didn't find it terribly vanilla-y. But when I started drinking it with dinner the vanilla really came through. It's really more of a 4.5 star tea. I would definitely get some of this again.

★★★☆☆

This was good, but not a my favorite of the flavored teas.

★★★★☆

I haven't ever tried vanilla tea on it's own, so when I tried it, I went in blind. I was expecting a more mild taste, but overall it's still really good with just a bit of milk and sugar.

★★★☆☆

The black tea is a basic base. The vanilla is a bit overpowering and artificial tasting. Better in mixes.

★★★★☆

The vanilla flavor is very strong, which is neither bad nor good. It's a very comforting tea, with a great scent. Probably better as a base for blends than on its own. Would also be nice to share for the holidays.

★★★★☆

I mistakenly ordered this instead of the vanilla oolong. I do enjoy it, but it is a little different...stronger perhaps.

★★★★★

this tastes great blended with the caramel black tea!

★★★★☆

This is a very good tea. It has a very good flavor and a wonderful scent. Just opening the bag you could smell this was going to be a wonderful tea!

★★★★★

This is a great, subtle tea that I usually mix with stronger flavors to soften them out, but it's great by itself too!

★★★★★

One of my favorite dessert teas from Adagio, along with the cream. Steeped for 3 minutes at near boiling, and you get a beautiful flavor that's not at all bitter. I never add cream or sugar to my teas, and with this one, I think you really wouldn't have to.

★★★★☆

Slightly creamy with a mellow finish. Would be best in blends and not on its own.

★★★☆☆

The vanilla flavor covers the flavor of the tea itself too much for my taste, although with that said it's still very good. More of a treat than an everyday thing.

While I haven't tried this one by itself, I have enjoyed it often as part of a blend, including adding it to Tiger Eye for a rich creamy result. Now that the weather has turned cooler, I expect to be using it more.

★★★★☆

I like this tea most when blended with other flavors - as that's when the vanilla comes out best. It does, however, taste good on its own - very light.

★★★★☆

Great for blending with other teas!! Goes really well with Mocha Nut Mate (:

★★★★★

This is a great chai with a hint of vanilla in it.

Great everyday tea. Solid vanilla aroma, very light astringency (unless you allow the tea to oversteep - then a splash of milk is perfect)

It's good alone but really great as a mixer. I love it with Caramel or even strawberry!

★★★★★

Love this tea, great green tea flavor and the vanilla is wonderful.

My friend first turned me on to vanilla by letting me try some that she had chilled. Let me just say that it is fantasic whether it is warm or cool! I made a pitcher of it for my family to drink and it was gone within two days ^-^

★★☆☆☆

I didn't really like the flavor for my tea it is ok for coffee but tea should be a little more like tea in my opinion.

★★★★☆

It's pretty good! More of use as a base for blending than simply good on its own, in my opinion.

★★★★★

Great alone or to mix with others - I particularly love mixing it with almond or hazelnut!

★★★★☆

This was a pretty tasty black tea with vanilla. I can definitely see it being a great morning tea or even a great tea to add to a blend.

A must tea to have in everyones cupboard. It smells amazing and the taste is not too overpowering. Add a little bit of sugar and this tea really performs.

★★★★☆

Delicious with a bit of sugar and vanilla flavored almond milk. Great smell.

★★★★☆

Very good tea. The vanilla is subtle but definitely present.

★★★★★

Simple and tasty. Perfect alone or for blending with other teas.

★★★★★

Another blending staple, it smells like I inhaled a bottle of vanilla extract, and tastes to me like cookies. One of the few teas I'll put sugar or milk in, but it's like vanilla ice cream (except hot, LOL)

For reasons I'll never understand, people tend to perceive vanilla as plain, or lacking in flavour. Even the term 'vanilla' is synonymous with banal flavour. I disagree.

To me, chocolate (which I do love as well) is far more likely to be cloying and expected. It's rich and sweet and in the right thing, can be amazing, but even then, it is so strong that it tends to overpower everything else with it. Vanilla is more subtle- it's a whisper and it's fleeting, and it makes you double back and really focus on it when you think you've caught a taste or a trail of it's scent. At times, it can be warm and comforting and sweet. at others, it can be airy and graceful and exotic. It can stand alone, and it can be blended. delicate enough to compliment other flavors without ever concealing them in it's own wake.

The problem is, b/c of it' subtlety, it lends itself to being overdone and it's sweetness can be exacerbated. This seems to happen a lot with teas, and I have seldom found a vanilla flavored teat that has become a stalwart tea in my collection.

Fortunately, Adagio changed that.

Adagio's vanilla is very subtle, and never overtly sweet. I use it to blend with so many other flavours, and it never disappoints or misses the mark. It's a perfect tea to make a gift of, as it is a universally loved flavor, and as a personal supply, it's an absolute necessity. something you want to always have on the shelf, b/c there are so many ways to use it. I love it with Adagio's almond tea, particularly, b/c both are such soft and gentle tastes, they are difficult to blend to with others and not get lost in the blend- but together, they just work. I also like to use it with stronger flavors, particularly as a middle note in a blend that has two strong flavors together. It's like a buffer and even things out with a smooth, creamy, milk like after taste.

The only down side is that it can be too subtle- after a week or so, it loses much of it's aroma, and I tend to forget it's there as a stand alone tea to drink. Again, I know there's a very fine line between subtle and over-doing it though, so I commend Adagio for managing to stay in the subtler end of things. Perhaps a bit of vanilla bean would more.

Adagio's vanilla doesn't seem to bitter up as much as some of the other flavors. I usually brew my black teas with water that has just cooled from the boiling point, and for 2 to 3 minutes, max- this creates a perfect balance to me. I have however, gotten sidetracked while brewing a cup, and ended up forgetting to remove the tea for 4 or 5 minutes, and despite that, it did not become so bitter or dry that that I tossed it and started over- so depending on your general preferences, you might want to start with 3 minutes, and work your way up from there if you'd like it stronger.

the vanilla is ok in this. not strong enough for my taste.

This tea is perfect on its own and in blends. It's very comforting and like drinking a hug.

This was not my favorite tea. I'm not sure why but I didn't like the smell of it too much. It was fine brewed, but nothing special to me. Regardless, I have enjoyed teas with this blended in it and they are some of my favorites! So I would vote this as one to include in a blend, but not my favorite on its own!

★★★★☆

Very good by itself, with ceylon sonata, and with both ceylon sonata and berry blues (the Dr. Horrible blend).

★★★★☆

It's nice. Black tea with a hint of vanilla I guess.

★★★★☆

This was a great flavour to add to all sorts of the black teas I already had.
