This tea is perfect for making at-home Thai tea - just add condensed milk and cream (color if you want, but meh, I didn't do that). It's got a flavor to it that's not too artificial, but not too subtle. I actually got this as a free sample (unexpectedly. it just showed up in my cart one day, thanks Adagio <3) and the only reason I'd never ordered it myself is because I assumed it would just be... kind of mediocre? Because vanilla isn't an exciting flavor, isn't something I'd assume would be fantastic or NEEDED in my life IMMEDIATELY. Now it's one I'd like to keep on-hand, because it might be kind of generic, but that doesn't make it less fantastic. Sometimes you want something simple and good.

I use this as the base to make my own chai variations at home...

Love this classic vanilla black tea! If the vanilla is too bold for you, try mixing with a plain irish breakfast or early grey. Delicious.

Okay, this is pretty decent. I'm still not a huge fan of Adagio's black base, but it's not too bitter here, and this has a pleasant vanilla flavor and is somewhat sweet, which is nice. I feel like it could be brewed a little longer actually, which is rare for me with a black tea. I suspect if I actually did brew it longer, it would get bitter, though. Still, not a bad tea at all, and I bet my husband will really like it (he loves vanilla).

My friends loved this tea and would always ask for it when they came to our place! It smells great.

When they advertise that this tea tastes like vanilla... it REALLY tastes like vanilla. The aftertaste was very intense and lasted for a long time after the initial sip. It was a bit overpowering at first, actually. But after getting further down into my thermos I began to enjoy the intensity, because the lingering flavor gave me taste buds something to savor.

I think I prefer vanilla as an oolong tea flavor, but the black tea vanilla was interesting. I'd give it a try if you love vanilla and don't mind it being a dominating flavor in your tea.

Nice vanilla tea but could use more vanilla flavor. Can turn bitter if steeped too long.

Anything that Adagio makes with vanilla flavor is delicious! This tea I really good!

This tea was great! Very flavored and lives up to it's name. Smells great and tastes better. Smells almost like a rich vanilla extract

I like how the black tea and vanilla flavors combine. Also, great for creating your own blends at home. My favorite mix is 50/50 vanilla chestnut. Talk about delicious! You should definitely order a sample.

A nice afternoon tea, this is smooth and round. I also use this tea to add a little flavor to my breakfast teas.

Adagio's vanilla tea is an excellent all-round, anytime flavored black tea, one I always keep on hand. The vanilla flavoring is subtle, but it's there. I sometimes add powdered chai latte mix for a rich-tasting treat.

Loved this sample! It's a very comforting, warm, cup of tea. I see there is a decaf version of this tea. I might want to pick up a bag of that since I seemed to always brew a cup of this tea at bedtime.

Distinctive vanilla flavor is enhanced with a touch of honey. This tea is particularly good mixed with orange or vanilla chai. On the other hand, it's flavorful just by itself.

Tastes pretty good, I bought this with the candy apple tea and they taste great mixed together.

I like this tea, there is just nothing special about it. It is a creamy and soft tea, and I like the smoothness (particularly in blends). The vanilla is a nice flavor - it doesn't taste artificial and weird when brewed.

Smell: Black tea (the warm, dry hay smell, I think).
Taste: By itself, it tasted like plain, black tea. Once I added a packet of Truvia it was sweet. although I'm wondering if that's simply the Truvia.
Thoughts: I had hoped this was finally going to be my go-to vanilla tea and it's still just too weak. I'm not even really getting 'vanilla' from this so much as just black tea with sweetener in it.

Smell: The smell from the tea, after steeping, is vanilla: it's light, but warm and lovely.
Taste: Bitter without the Truvia. Once it cooled enough, I added Truvia and it still tasted kind of bitter. I'm not getting any vanilla flavor at all.
Thoughts: Apparently, 'over-steeping' is a thing and I think I did it. I'll try this again with 2 teaspoons, but certainly not for longer than the 3 minutes recommended on the package.

This is a great tea to blend with or simply on it's own. My favorite way of mixing it is with the chocolate chip and cream tea to create a chocolate chip cookie dough tea. Adding a little sweetener really brings out the vanilla flavour.

This is a wonderful dessert or comfort tea. I love to add milk and sugar.

Vanilla makes a wonderful tea! Before purchasing I was unsure, and felt this to be more of a coffee flavor than tea... was I wrong! Vanilla has an amazing smooth flavor alone or with milk.. For sure a favorite!

I had a few cups of this by itself and then ended up mixing it with spearmint, which made a very nice blend.

*THE BEST* flavoured tea I have ever tasted! Utterly seductive, pure vanilla scent and savour melds perfectly with a balanced, rounded full black tea. So mellow, even when left to steep for longer than it should. I never thought a flavoured tea would edge out 'straight up' black tea choices. But, it has.

This is my all time favorite! Comfort in a cup! Hints of vanilla. This tea is amazing with some sugar and a little milk.

As someone new to teas, I was pretty excited to see a few 'atypical' tea flavors on here. Needless to say, I HAD to try the vanilla tea but was not overwhelmed with delicious vanilla-y flavor. It was drinkable, which is more than I can personally say for a lot of teas, but I probably won't get this one again.

Nice and creamy. The vanilla flavor tastes natural, not like the weird, perfumey fake vanilla. A very tasty tea.

I agree this could have used a bit more of a vanilla taste to it, but it's a pretty good concentration of flavor anyway. A new favorite.

This tea smells kinda weird from the bag itself, but when brewed it's really good. It's not a strong vanilla tea, which is good because it's not overwhelming sugary. If anyone likes vanilla flavored stuff they would probably like this tea.

This tea has a great vanilla taste. I am a big vanilla fan and this tea delivers great taste.

I've only ever tasted this with milk. I haven't tried it 'straight.' But with that said, it's delicious: the vanilla flavor is clear without being overwhelming.

Tastes delicious. Initially, I steeped the vanilla too much and the taste came off as too strong-- but with proper steeping (around 2-4 minutes depending on how strong you're going for), it becomes a really great, simple tea, and perfect for evening. I like to steep this along with the flavored hazelnut teas as well with added brown rock sugar and milk.

This is a staple at our house. We drink it anytime of the day but it is particularly enjoyable as an afternoon tea.

A light, delicious tea on it's own...it also mixes wonderfully with fruit teas like mango or cherry for a delightful new flavor.

Definitely taste the black tea. A little bitter. Maybe can taste the vanilla flavor if you squint and tilt your head to the side?

A little plain alone, but sweet and mild with a definite vanilla flavor. This is another tea I like to mix.

My Second favorite tea only to the peach black tea. It's a bit stronger flavoring with the vanilla than the other teas but it's a flavor that works strong.

Unless I haven't quite figured out the brewing, the flavor is not as strong as I had hoped.

too strong, a sharp, bitter flavor. i steeped it for only about a minute or two, and it was still too strong.
