By itself, the tea has a very mild flavor. It's pleasant but nothing extraordinary. It's definitely one that does better mixed with other teas as a background flavor rather than trying to hold its own. On the positive side, it mixes very well with almost any other black teas.

The smell is wonderful. not too strong, but definitely natural vanilla. It has a nice mild vanilla flavor. It's not overpowering and quite pleasant. I'm looking forward to trying it in with other teas.
I had this tea after trying the cream flavored tea.. which is a hard act to follow. I don't hate it, but after having the cream tea this pales in comparison.

Strictly speaking, there's nothing really special about this tea. But let's be honest, who clicks 'vanilla' looking for something 'special?' What you want is a smooth but modest flavor, done as well as possible. And that's what you'll get here.

I added a bit of chestnut, along with vanilla tea and cream tea, to Fujian Baroque, for a really great dessert tea. The vanilla shines!
I love this tea! This is my afternoon go-to cuppa, with a little Creme and sugar. And during the holidays, we put a splash of eggnog (vice cream) for a real treat - like dessert in a mug. Will continue to buy this one!

The vanilla flavor isn't especially strong, so by itself it sort of tastes like plain black tea. However, for blending this tea is great, adding just the tiniest bit of vanilla to whatever you blend it with.
